  1. You forgot being asked if you’re “celebrating anything special on the cruise”. Every time we were repeatedly asked this (while the person was waiting for whatever to solve our problem), we answered some form of “please answer/fix our question first, before chatting”.
  2. We both got covid on the 14 day Grand to Alaska in August. This was the first time we’ve gotten covid. Yeah, we made it thru the pandemic, only to get it on the cruise. Starting week 2, there was A LOT of sneezing and coughing…most NOT covered. I went to the medical office for masks and asked that the captain remind people to cover their coughs, wear masks, stay in their rooms…or at the very least, tell people (hint, hint) they can pick up masks at guest services/wherever. Nope. They don’t want to be the bad guys. And besides, people know what they’re supposed to do. There was open discussions about feeling better or more fatigued than yesterday, and at least 1 person coughing at nearly every table (yeah, I paid attention). We’ve cancelled our December cruise.
  3. We were on Grand in August. Way on top of the ship (outside), where there is a basketball court (or 1 hoop), there is the picketball court outlined on the surface. Didn’t see anyone using it, but did see people shooting hoops. Didn’t see the net, nor racquets, but didn’t look.
  4. Just got off the Grand. Many, many people coughing and (wet) sneezing, talk of feeling fatigued or feeling better today? or either of you feeling sick? Yet, less than 1% wearing masks, and Princess NOT reminding people to wear masks (nor openly providing them), nor any mention during announcements. I went to the med center to get masks and asked that there be reminder announcements and was told that after these past few years “people know what they should be doing when feeling ill”. Clearly they are out of touch. Sad that Princess doesn’t care about the health of their passengers.
  5. Hubby signed up via Stockperks either same day or next of buying. He couldn’t find Princess and put in incorrect trip and it was declined. When he re-tried so saw Princess and it was accepted. All within a few days.
  6. @memoak Agreed, pricey. But a small bottle for the room is exactly what I am wanting to buy. I guess mentioning the 10% sale threw everyone off …my bad re wording my question. Thanks for your help, fellow Oregonian.
  7. @Thrak ok, so…once we are onboard, we can purchase from room service these bottles to consume onboard during the cruise. Correct?
  8. @Teechur I’d like to bring on, but don’t want to get “caught” and then thrown off the ship/NOT allowed to get on. Yeah, I’m a goody 2 shoes. If you have tips to bring on, that’d be great. I assume best way is to put into reusable water bottle, but figured security will check.
  9. @BamaVol Can people still pre purchase small bottles of alcohol? There’s a past post of yours where you give instructions (select beverage tab at top of website), but there is NO beverage tab. Do you know if this is still available? Thanks.
  10. @arizonaperson @skynight @cjpj I guess I took a screen shot of the “convo”. Is the below correct? (I miss-remembered re 10% off special.)
  11. Hubby hardly drinks, but thought it would be nice to sit on room balcony and have a drink. I thought the easiest way to do this was to buy a small bottle for the room and he could make a drink when he wanted to. I got this idea from a comment, but can’t find the comment/post/thread. Thanks for clarification.
  12. Ahh. We do NOT have our medallion and plan on picking up at check in. If you watch on the room tv, do you still need to go the “muster person” and check in?
  13. We’ll be traveling on the Grand Princess in a few weeks. 1. Is there hand lotion and hair conditioner in the room? (Last time we sailed, pre covid, our steward said they don’t supply conditioner anymore, but went way out of his way to get me some). 2. The 10% off bottles of alcohol (1 hour “special” on Day 1, possibly also Day 2)…is that to drink on board OR they save it for you til you get off the ship? I thought I read someone here say that it’s for on board (now can’t find in a search) but the wording on the online patter isn’t clear. 3. I thought we could watch the muster video before embarkation, but can’t seem to find the video. Do we need to wait til on board? Thanks!
  14. Thanks. I was going to the review of Princess then Grand and only found reviews of the ship, NOT the journey.
  15. I would have thought it would be easy to find the forum. I have seen a few on this forum, but please LMK if there’s another forum solely for reviews, vs scrolling here. Thanks.
