  1.

Excellent blog so far; really enjoy reading it. Thanks for doing this.

I also check “fishy” site often when deciding what last min. Cruise to take but have an awesome TA that monitors it and let’s me know when there’s even a $25. Reduction. On my Feb. 18 Eclipse one: just came down nearly $400. Which I was shocked at, just prior to final payment but you are right.... be careful you don’t lose any perks or SBC

    Keep up the good work

  2. Thanks Paul: looking forward to following your blog. Enjoy your RS.

Been on more than 100 Cruise: stopped counting after that , so one can tell I love cruising and do many lines but Celebrity is my favourite but very disappointed after this coming year , they aren’t doing 14 day Caribbean itinerary any longer. Love Sue Denning; can you ask if she will be on Eclipse for month of Feb. when we are doing B2B. Also interested if we are going to St. Martin in Feb. and would love to see pictures of any of the effects of last hurricane. My heart aches for people and businesses in St. Thomas and St. Martin. Enjoy and will look forward to your blog.

  3. Even on a roundtrip TA and if you plan not to spend the day in New York you still have to purchase an ESTA and you still have to get off the ship and go through customs i.e.fingerprints and retinas scanned and then wait to get back onboard. With regards to infringement of privacy if it stops a terrorist attack or catches a terrorist then I am all for it. I have nothing to hide so do not mind who takes my fingerprints or scans my retinas if it makes it a safer world.

We are also on the roundtrip TA on QM2 on 18th October-1st November we booked it what seems an age ago and will be our second roundtrip TA.

Thanks for this valuable information; so how much is the ESTA; cash or credit card? What would be your guess, if we get off at Brooklyn terminal with express easy walk off at 7:15 a.m.; what time would we be ready to be picked up for a NY tour, at dock? Thanks

Grotbags: back to back cruise; when we have done them in past; the cruise line knows who you are and they ask you all to assemble together; usually around 9:30 or 10; then they take you to get your new cruise cards (must settle $$$ up on the first cruise) before this; and then get new key card etc and can then go back on ship or out for day. When you return; can walk right onto ship. Often when we do B to B cruise; we want to get going on this day and not wait for above to happen; that's fine as well but they don't advertise it ; if you do it this way; then must stand n line and preregister when you return for next cruise. It's nice if you are staying in same cabin for both cruises but if not; porter can easily move your clothes all on hangers and your suitcases to new cabins; you do not have to be around for this.

Sppunk ; yes you don't need to wait in long line from usually 6;15 A.M. till time they get clearance; usually around 7:15 to do express walk off but if you wait till they call easy /express walk off; you will never get an elevator to debarkation floor. Many cruise lines do not like express/early walk off's to leave after this group is called. I was on one cruise when they refused to let those people off , after the designated time, till after nearly all had departed; without luggage . The other advantage of getting off with express walk off (taking your luggage); faster to get through immigration, crab a cab or on your way There's a window of about 15 minutes for these people but no help from porters and have seen so many people use this service who certainly shouldn't. Long ways usually to drag suitcase, totebag etc.

  5. Thanks Flamona and Hlitner for your knowledge. I know it's a gamble and was surprised the last few years when we did transatlantic starting in Europe that we were able to bring extra but never left from Southampton like this one is doing. Like your advice ; and Princess also said.... if you bring more than 1 bottle; worst scenario is charge of $15. per bottle. Thanks; Love how helpful everyone is on CC

  6. First time in 5 years I haven't been on Eclipse this week; recognize your name Chamima. Glad to hear it's keeping it's standards.

BUT do express your displeasure that next year is the last year that Eclipse is doing 14 day Caribbean and no Celebrity ship is replacing her for 14 days. We will be moving to another line who does do 14 days then. GRRR. We are already booked for 2018 on Eclipse... taking year off this year to do Australia.. ENJOY!

  7. Thanks Anne for sharing; I thought I had checked Vista Print; I get my business cards from them but will check harder. Thanks for giving me hints on where to find them. That was such an awesome gift; have it on my fridge. Do hope I meet you again on a cruise; we are still searching for fall transatlantic and interesting; thinking of doing Getaway of Baltics as well; just wish the trans after it was a bit more interesting. Are you flying home after it. Just did Norweigan Epic late Nov. and it was very good

  8. Thanks Mary Ann

Sorry I didn't meet Julie but thanks for asking her about the magnets; it was such a nice gift. Just checked your postings a couple of days ago and saw you were on Vision; we want to do Iceland so bad; unreal price you got; that is such a great itinerary ; sorry we hadn't seen it earlier... would have been joining you. So far nothing booked for Fall GRRR but searching every day. Let me know when you book transatlantic for fall 2018. Keep sailing and enjoying life.
