I like a balcony which becomes more expensive if you are a solo cruiser. However, the bathroom is always free when I want it.
all I ask for in the MDR is a starter, (preferably prawn), clam chowder, a main course, and possibly ice cream for dessert, and a plate of cheese, preferably continental. Only stipulation is that the wine must come before I’ve finished my main course. I couldn’t drink red wine with ice cream. I gather there are no dedicated wine waiters. Sommeliers are definitely a thing of the past. Maybe they have them in the glass house.

Yes, that’s my scene, but cheese and biscuits instead of dessert. Also, it’s no good if my order of red wine comes late as I could not drink it if it didn’t arrive until the dessert came. If this was the case, I hope they wouldn’t charge me for the wine.

No, you are on holiday, and anyway they save on the dessert. People do this all the time

Normally in the MDR got an evening meal, I would request a starter, a soup course and a main dish. I’m wondering, by today’s standard if this is going to look PIGGISH. Any thoughts?

Source has come from a passenger who has just disembarked Iona following a14 day cruise. Too many queues and limited menu.

Fair comment Megabear2 but I’d still like to know where this information originated from. Hopefully the OP will come back and confirm the source.

P&O and logic are two fairly incompatible concepts. My understanding is that all quarantine zones are fixed and predetermined which does make sense because you cannot predict the specific need in advance. Of course many of the reservations were made during the first year of the pandemic when quarantine zones had not been established, which is why many bookings now need to be moved. Certainly it would have been sensible for P&O to advise passengers that their cabin would need to be changed, as soon as they had determined the quarantine zone, and certainly not permit any bookings to be made for potential quarantine cabins, which I would not be at all surprised to know did happen.
My cabin was chosen and booked when quarantine zones were being relaxed, so I hope there will be no enforced change.

The wonderful shellfish That used to be served at the lunchtime buffet on the aurora. A treat for every shellfish addict.

This is fine as it does Keep their base cruise fare lower. However, be prepared to pay extra for quality food and better service.

All of my test resuits have been electronic so I'm sure it should be fine. Just have them handy, perhaps on your desktop.
I will have my IPad with me. Please disregard the post before this one.

Also need to do one for N306 Sailing date 02.03.2023. I can take the required photo but have no means of printing it out. Ladies at check-in will be able to see it on my iPad. I wonder if that will be acceptable

I too am going on Ventura in March for the first time, previously on Adonia and Aurora and a couple of times on Arcadia. Those were the days of getting on the ship and not having to do anything. Any bookings for restaurants, we used the old fashioned telephone or turned up at the door and made arrangements. Of course, there were a lot more crew.

I’ve not cruised since Covid. Now finding that technology has overtaken me. Pleasure in anticipating the cruise has gone.. it has become WORK.

When was this, recently?

Oh, are the tickets for the excursions you have booked online not left in your cabin?

If you don’t have a smart phone you cannot use the app anyway.

They need to replace the card then, otherwise some of us would have no idea what was on offer.

For Solent Richard,
too much for my brain to bother with when I’m on holiday

Is P&O becoming Carnival’s Budget Cruise Line?

Most of my cheese comes from a French supermarket, but I have never heard of French cheddar. I’m obviously missing something. If the cruise ship Serves French Cheese, I will be well satisfied. Problem solved. Mostly they have Port Salut and will produce it is requested nicely. The trick is BE POLITE and ask NICELY! It works every time.
