I also went on the Azura, just once. Too big and like the Arcadia too much loud music (so called). So many times I have complained about the volume but I am told “This is what the passengers want”
-
I quite agree, I do prefer smaller ships and just love the days at sea.
-
I totally agree, The Aurora definitely has more charm than the Arcadia. Also it has more open decks, coming down from t(e Penant Bar. Also, not so much loud music. Next time I go on the Arcadia, I shall get ear plugs
-
Now that the Aurora is to become adult only, can anybody tell me the main differences between Aurora and Arcadia.

To Unibok. I get up early and enjoy coffee and toast outside in the pool area. Sometimes I have the pool area to myself but STILL Music? Is playing.
-
I agree, the balcony, especially if you have the sun is the best place to be. I have been told that music around the pool Is what the passengers want. I have never been asked, has anybody else?

I would be happy to pay for the wine which I consume in my cabin, but not at £15 per bottle.

The clothing shops are appalling, nothing elegant or stylish. I am 5’ 9” so everything is far too short. As for the Radley bags, they are cheaper in Jersey evening I chiding our GST.

To Caravan 37
I have been in touch with P and O to see if I could take more wine but no spirits. The answer was NO. One litre of whatever. They offer bottles of soft drinks to purchase when you go ashore. I wonder if, when re-boarding these bottles will be confiscated if you have not drunk all of the contents.
-
I like a glass of wine as I get ready for dinner. On a 24night cruise, it isn’t going to last. If P and O have this policy, it would be much fairer to base the amount you are allowed to bring on board with the length of the cruise

Message for DAN 60
I an a sole traveller and found that some passengers on Arcadia needed lessons in good manners. Why the rush and panic in the self service restaurant on a sea day? Interesting news about the good price of you balcony.

To Berlingo, I have been cruising with P & O for 12 years and have always been very satisfied. This last time, on the Arcadia, the only open deck where you could eat and get a drink was plagued with unrelenting loud radio one type music. Half of the deck was a designated smoking area, making it unpleasant for non-smokers. Unfortunately, for the first time ever, I met some rude passengers, feet on tables and chairs. I wonder if they would act like this in their homes.

Arcadia is a child free ship and I no issue with reasonably well behaved children anyway. I do not like constant piped over loud radio one type music or smoking, both of which were much in evidence. People putting their bare feet on tables where others are expected to eat. People using chairs as footrests, whilst others are trying to find a seat to sit in. I was even refused a chair because somebody was using it as a rest for their bag. He said "I am expecting somebody". Nobody turned up.

I bought water onboard before getting off at a port. The excursion I was on also supplied water. Consequently, the water I had bought onboard had to be thrown away before reboarding the ship. What a waste of my money.

can anybody tell me what P and O Arcadia is like
-
I am thinking of using a metal thermos flask. What does anyone think?

The last cruise I was on, which was a round trip 'Southampton - Caribbean - Southampton' had a sailaway party at each port of call. This could be heard on my cabin balcony five decks below. Radio Two type music each time.
Eddie, can you tell me how much I may expect to pay for a bottle of red House wine as I would like to have a few delivered to my cabin on my next cruise.

I have been with P and O for many years. Unfortunately standards are dropping, particularly on the Arcadia. Whilst ladies tend to dress smartly on casual evenings many of the men dress extremely casually. The Arcadia has one 'open' deck with a swimming pool and two whirlpools. Loud music is played constantly and it has a large smoking area.
It is getting a bit like Butlins!

From 2018 P and O are restricting alcohol from being taken on board to one litre only. Can anyone tell me what would be the cheapest way to drink wine in my cabin. The drinks they provide in the cabin fridge are expensive.

Aurora & Arcadia - differences please.

Jean, I like time on the open deck enjoying the sea, with a book, even though I spend more time looking at the sea than reading. Christine
