Are the bottled water packages more expensive once you're on board VS. ordering a package ahead of time? Right now it shows about $54 for a 24 pack, and I'm wondering if that price will go up once I'm on the ship

I tipped the night butler each time I saw him, and tipped the day butler just once at the end

She is returning to NYC this fall

Look at it this way, you lost a week of your life from all the second hand smoke, but ADDED a week due to the awesome NCL vacation you had! It's a wash lol.. I sailed the Epic and didn't notice it being any better or worse than the rest, but smoke doesn't bother me anyway. Could be you were on a sailing with more smokers

Have you not read the 10 other closed threads on the topic. Old news.
If you read my original post, that was exactly my point. It was all over the cruisecritic boards, which I anticipated, as this is THE place for all things cruise related. I was simply surprised that it made it to main stream media as big as the NY Post

I know there was a lot of uproar on here over the Norwegian Sun cruise, but I didnt expect it to make the headlines. Below is the article in the NY Post

The main reason that NCL would choose not to stop at NCL is because the Captain feels it is unsafe to tender. Let’s be really honest here - the first people to complain about the Captain’s decision are the same who will sue NCL in the event of a serious injury due to a slip or a fall in rough seas.
I couldn't agree with this statement more

Yes, you get your own lifeboat. This is possible due to all those being down in steerage being locked down there in case of an emergency... oh no wait, that was in the movie Titanic
-
Yes, it's the Daily Service Charge, or DSC. You're good to go

Why would they keep bidding cabins out of inventory? They lose money that way.
It didn't make sense to me either, but I've heard a lot of people say this
-
I forgot it's 2018 where everyone is offended by every statement. I'll just go ahead and double down on this one. Maybe not every single 20 year old married couple is responsible, but if I were playing the odds, I'd say most married 20 year olds will be more mature than their non married counterparts. It's not "age descrimination" or whatever other PC name you want to give it. It's just using better judgement. So you can say what you want, but a couple on their honeymoon will behave differently than spring breakers.

Don't all Mommies and Daddies have to sign for them to drink??? Why do so many soft-soap the Marrieds but not the Breakers who have the same issues with alcohol limitations?
I would think that a 20 year old that's married, possibly trying for a kid, working, etc would be in a different frame of mind and act more mature than a 20 year old frat boy

I don't get all this negativity surrounding the Breakaway. I absolutely loved the ship and can't wait to sail on her again

Thank you all for the responses. I'm booked in an H3 and bid on an H2, but both H2's are showing sold out. I've read that sometimes the room isn't really sold, rather they freeze it up for the bidding process (doesn't make sense to me, I've just seen it posted a couple times).

We are in the Haven 2 bedroom family suite and I am waiting on a bid for the Haven deluxe owners suite. Sailing is 3/24. When do they start accepting bids?
They award winning bids up until 48 hours before you leave
-
Has anyone ever been successful in bidding on a sold out category?

Wow, no more tomahawk steak? That's a big disappointment, as it's the one thing I always looked forward to as far as dining goes. NCL keeps on cutting back, I think it may be time to try a new cruise line.

Not sure how CAS works....I'm just a regular cruiser, you are the big spend on board, so they should surely give you the deal. Good Luck in your efforts.
Thank you, the whole thing just seemed really funny to me. I'm probably one of the most easygoing people, but it just rubbed me the wrong way. #1 the guys attitude on the phone, and #2 the situation itself. I likened it to buying a jacket in the mall, paying for it, then as I'm getting in my car the employee swings my door open and says give me another 20 bucks it was more money than the tag said.
-
I was already paid in full too. Outright pay every penny upgrade. You might want to push that response up the line.
Wow, thank you for the heads up, it seemed a little shady to me. It was through CAS. I called and asked about the upgrade, they told me the price, I said ok. Card was charged in full while I was still on the line with them. They told me to wait up to an hour for my NCL online account to reflect the changes. Several hours went by with no change, so I called back up and they tell me "we've been trying to get ahold of you, you were misquoted this morning, now its going to be X amount more" to which I basically replied (very courteously) I'm sorry but that doesn't sound right or seem fair. The guy got argumentative with me, at which point I asked to speak to a supervisor who put the purchase through and sent me confirmation, which I checked while we were still on the phone. When I saw the missing OBC, I asked, and the response I received was No, it stays the same as the time of your original booking. I got the feeling they used that to offset the amount that I was "misquoted", as it was the same amount. I haven't gone on the cruise yet, maybe I will call back and ask again.
-
I upgraded (purchased, not via bid) from H7 to H3 and at the time, they were offering $500 OBC for the H3. But they didn't give it to me, and when I asked they said no the OBC stays the same as it was at the time of original purchase. Maybe because I was already paid in full for the H7?

go on the NCL Site and but on board credit for the cruise
If I buy on board credit, can it be used towards my service charges?
-
"Excludes purchases onboard, Norwegian gift cards, shore excursions and transportation to and from the ship".. That stinks. my cruise is already paid for in full. Until reading the fine print, I thought I'd get it when I closed out my on board account
Bottled water package prices
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
I searched, but the majority of threads I found were from when people were in an uproar because NCL no longer allowed passengers to carry on water and soda. I found the price on the NCL website, but it has a note that says "pre-order and save", hence why I asked if there is any price difference on board vs pre-order. Lastly, I agree with your comment about the bottled vs tap water taste, and only drink tap at home. However, I have an auto-immune disease which can be aggravated by excess sodium. So when I'm out at a restaurant or anywhere that may have a water purification or water softening system (which uses salt) I just order bottled to be on the safe side. It's much easier for me to just order bottled than ask "excuse me, what kind of filtration system do you have, and does it use salt"? and then run the risk of the person not knowing what they're talking about. For a few dollars, I buy my health and peace of mind.
