Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Do you unplug it when not in the suite? I would think it falls under the same category as other devices that they want unplugged when the suite is unoccupied (fire precaution).
  2. Yes, but it's served at the wrong temperature!
  3. Did Regent get passengers a place to stay in Barcelona? Were you housed? Fed? Transferred? Have there been issues, technical or otherwise since boarding a day late? How are they handling missed or delayed ports? Missed or delayed excursions? Please elaborate.
  4. That fruit dessert at Prime 7 is a real treat! Light, not too sweet, exactly what one wants after a heavy meal. What a great picture!
  5. We were on the southern route 8-day cruise in Feb 2023. Definitely a luxury line! The food is excellent, the ship is lovely, and the service is top-notch. Due to the rules for the National Park, all crew is from Ecuador, all food and wine, also. Beef needs to be pre-cooked, so menus are heavy on seafood/fish and poultry. There were a couple of meals with goat (yes, I know :-). The crew is great. The Expedition team is wonderful! You get in-depth information for all excursions. We were the last cruise that used the Whisper system audio guide for excursions, That system worked really well for us, but Whisper got tired of replacing equipment that was dropped in the water. I don't know what has replaced it, if anything has. So you know, you are on the the go from early morning to late afternoon. It's exhausting, but also wonderful. Three excursions per day -- two in the morning, then the ship moves, and maybe you can catch a nap, then one in the afternoon. Everyone pretty much crashes right after dinner. It's definitely one of the best cruises we've ever taken. Like nowhere else on Earth. You can probably get the guides and excursions on other lines, or on the smaller 16-passenger boats, but it's unlikely you can get the high-end service that Silversea provides.
  6. Last June on the Voyager I (solo) shared a table in Prime 7 with two couples. One of the women was sneaking puffs on a vape pen during dinner! I should have said something (to the Maitre 'd, at least), but I was too flummoxed at this behavior, especially since that couple went on and on about how lawless their city had become since the woke politicians were voted in. I won't let it go if there's a next time.
  7. @organizedhome, NAH. Please take your issues to the executive concierge or general manager. They might not do anything, but if they don't know you are having issues, they can't fix them. I, too, have noticed that the Observation Lounge snacks have been downgraded to nuts, chips, and pretzels. Not sure if you can do anything about that, but the service issues at meals can definitely be remedied.
  8. We're on this cruise. Our flight from YVR started at 3:15p, got changed to 1:30p, and is now at 12:10p. We decided to stay an extra day in Vancouver. This is no hardship, as we love Vancouver.
  9. They have the Voyager slated for the Indan Ocean Grand Voyage starting in Feb 2026. I can't imagine they'll abandon those passengers. Nothing is scheduled after the Apr arrival in Rome, though. There's also nothing for almost a month from Nov 22 '25 to Dec 22 '25. Word on this board is there's a dry dock scheduled for Voyager at that time. I hope this is true, since we've got a Jan '26 booking on her and are looking forward to a refreshed ship.
  10. It is on page 2 of your guest statement, under Cancellation of Ancillary Items. In case you haven't booked yet, here it is:
  11. We did the tour you're looking at in January. No "flexibility" as in you go with the group for the two dinners that aren't on your own. But there's downtime for naps or shopping and you can always go to the hotel bar for a drink and/or snack. TBH, The dinners weren't the highlight of this tour. They are all about the beef (which Argentinians like medium to medium-well, so if you want it rarer, you gotta ask), and you aren't getting their best wine. The best parts of the tour are the sights, and those make it all worth it! The lunch at La Selva was pretty good, though. I'm surprised you have only 2 nights in Argentina. Our Iguazu falls trip in Jan was 3 nights -- two in Iguazu (at the Gran Melia Iguazu, one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at) and one in Buenos Aires. I looked at your cruise, and the pre-cruise Iguazu trip is 3 nights BA/Iguazu/BA. (Note that even though the tour lists the Devil's Throat train, there was a huge wash out in late 2022 and a lot of that area has been closed since. They may or may not have the tracks, trails, and bridges repaired by the next March.) We had a great time. Like UUNetBill we appreciated Regent taking care of all the details, from the internal flights to having our luggage stored. I don't think you'll be sorry.
  12. On Splendor this Dec/Jan there was a worry about the water supply, so as well as asking guests to take shorter showers for maybe three days, they didn't do laundry for a couple days.
  13. We did the Machu Picchu Deluxe tour in December and the Iguazu Falls tour (Argentina only) in January, on either end of a Lima to Buenos Aires cruise. They were both very well done. Akorn was the land tour provider in Peru, and Fathom in Argentina. The hotels were excellent, the meals very good, and the tours were well guided and well put together. We enjoyed them and recommend both of them. Because these were add-on tours, and not included, we had fewer than 30 people on each tour. The 200-person multi bus tours are unlikely. There is a cap on how many can go, and you can probably get that info from Regent or your TA. I doubt that either of these tours will be freebies, because they both include internal flights (economy class).
  14. You probably answered this question before, but I am too dazzled by your amazing pictures to go back and find the answer: Is this a pre-tour from Regent? A pre-tour you arranged through another tour company? Or a tour you planned on your own? We haven't been to Japan, and this all looks so wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
