We are the same age bracket as well (38 and 39). Will be on the Getaway 9/23-9/30. Just came off the ship Sunday and loved it!! Doing the same cruise in September.

Hi Kim! I have been doing some extensive research between Tabayana and other resorts. From what I understand, if you do not book the excursion with snorkel, you will need to walk to a dive shop along the beach. They are as low as $10 an hour for a set. (my research has been dive shop sites, CC boards and talking with a couple of the resorts along the beach right there.)

For what it's worth - a fairly good dive kit is $40 at Costco and Amazon. Good luck!

Was wondering has done this excursion offered by Shore Excursioneers? I am trying to narrow down my option and would love to hit up some local markets for shopping, a great local place to eat and as much bottom time snorkeling as possible.

I have seen older posts about people able to order cakes from Carlo's Bakery, instead of the galley packages, for special events. Does any one know if this is still offered?? And bonus question - HOW!? I know its an up charge but I cannot find anything on NCL about it under gifts and extra items to purchase.

We're celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and never had the chance to eat our own wedding cake or top layer due to two "interesting" events... so needless to say we're very motivated to get this one done! :')

We agree! I was just searching for something other than LFK (don't get me started on my frustrations) and we wanted to make sure we were snorkeling and enjoying local goods.

When do you go?? Let me know how your experience goes - we don't go until end of September.

I was just on the breakaway about a month ago and used the dining package on Ocean Blue. $15 upcharge and so insanely worth it. Unlimited appetizers (we got 5 and nobody said anything), both got 1 entree (the lobster is incredible), and ordered 3 desserts, which again nobody said anything about. Bill came to 0 dollars and 0 cents!

Thanks for the review!! We hope to eat here for our anniversary dinner on our September Cruise!
