  1. We just canceled this cruise today. I was trying to hold out to get the $600 OBC if (when?) they cancel it. We moved what we already paid to our May 2021 Mardi Gras cruise (if the ship is even ready by then 🤣). While this sailing might go we didn’t want to be one of the first cruises to go. We decided on an AI in Cancun instead!

I hope you get to sail, we were really looking forward to this itinerary!

Well, it is still showing up in my Cruise Manager.  Assuming you mean the 5 Dec 2020 Southern Carib cruise on Breeze.

But as we all know, it takes a day or two for such changes to percolate through "officially".  I guess we'll see.

Yes, the same sailing. I checked and mine was still showing up. Not sure if TAs get some type of insider information. She called her to tell her not the other way around. I was hoping they cancel before final payment date on 9/6

Just answered my own question - lots of other sailings still available in Nov & Dec.

EDIT: but my cruise on Breeze, Southern Carib, is not available to book either, while other ones around it are still open.  Maybe also capacity limited?  Hmmm....

I am on this same cruise and my friend is as well and she just got a call from her travel agent that it’s canceled

  4. I think our December 5th Breeze (formerly Radiance) cruise is going to be canceled. So we’ll put that towards our May15th Mardi Gras cruise (hopefully that doesn’t canceled) we already splurged on that one by getting a balcony. Hopefully we can use the OBC by eating at specialty restaurants most nights and any excursions that are still available! We don’t drink or gamble either ☺️

After reassignment I decided to change the cruise entirely. Booked the 02/27 Mardi Gras sailing. With my current Casino offer this cruise was almost $600 cheaper than my original booking. That's for a Mardi Gras balcony cabin on deck 14 versus a Breeze cove balcony on deck 2. It is a 7 day instead of an 8 day but we felt it was a better value and a chance to sail a brand new boat. Entire call took less than 5 minutes.

Let's hope this one doesn't get cancelled and it is safe to sail!

Did they charge you to switch ?

Thanks, to you and the others that have replied as such.

Weird, it still hasn't arrived for me.  But the booking is definitely gone under "Manage - My Booking".

I'd call, but really, what is the point?  It is the email on Friday (or thereabouts) that is really relevant - the cabin re-assignment.

Sometimes I get emails from Carnival and other times nothing. Hopefully it will populate on the website tomorrow. Good luck!

Still haven't received the email from Carnival notifying me of the Radiance->Breeze swap.

We are booked for the Dec 5 cruise (Southern Carib).  Anyone else on that cruise get their notification yet?

Just worried that somehow the messages are getting blocked and not even making it to my spam folder.  As far as I know I usually get emails from Carnival...but I can't know about what I'm not getting...

I’m on that sailing and I received the email along with my mom and friends that are coming

Without a shred of evidence the last sentence mentions the ship being scrapped, which makes no sense to me. Most of the article deals with Royal Crappabean and the Pullmantur bankruptcy.

There are a few people on a FB page that love to quote that paper as if it is gospel.

Carnival has loan guarantees for building/completion of ships and I don't think they can be used for anything but.

I think I know what page you are talking about and you are right! Comment section is always an interesting read!

I found this on the John Heard Facebook page, not posted by John but by another person.  I found it interesting, BUT NOT definitive, at least at this time.

Someone on there translated it that the ship is going to be scrapped. Anytime someone posted it John would reply “Carnival hasn’t made any announcements yet” seems like an interesting choice of wording instead of saying it isn’t true. I guess we shall see

  10. Our final payment is due in early September for our December 5th sailing. We don’t think it’s going to be ready by then and there is a big chance we won’t be cruising by then either. We talked about taking the early saver hit and moving our booking to another ship in December but I don’t think I feel comfortable sailing yet with what’s going on still. If it isn’t canceled by final payment date then we are going to put it on our Carnival credit card so we don’t tie up our money in the event it gets canceled.

  11. We have a cruise booked in December on the Radiance so there is double anxiety about it. I am pretty sure it’s going to be canceled and I’m ok with it. I was hoping cruises would have started in August to see what happens but now I’m worried December might be one of the first ones. We are just hanging tight and hoping we get the news soon. These boards are almost becoming unbearable as well. So much negativity that it actually gets me down.

  12. We are in East Central Florida so we have a lot of options. If our December radiance Cruise gets canceled (which I think it will) and we can’t book another cruise we talked about getting an Airbnb in Orlando and going to Disney for the week since we have annual passes. Disney though just came out with a new reservation system so not sure if that will still apply in December. We also talked about getting an Airbnb on the west coast or Panhandle or doing the opposite and going up to Asheville! Either way we are doing something! I need a vacation!

You should be able to transfer the full amount to another future cruise.  All cancellation charges will be a future cruise credit.  Here is the email explaining it that we received from Carnival back in March:

    March 11, 2020

    Dear Carnival Guest,

We continue to implement increased monitoring, screening and sanitation protocols to protect the health of our guests, crew and the residents of the destinations we serve. Our measures are designed to be flexible to adapt to changing conditions and recommended best practices. For your reference, you can read our Travel Health Advisory on Carnival.com.

Nevertheless, we know our guests have questions about their upcoming cruise and we have relaxed our cancellation policy to provide flexibility should you wish to reschedule your vacation, as well as incentives to proceed with your plans. The following applies only to guests who booked on or before March 10, 2020.

    • Guests who choose to keep their booking, as currently scheduled, for departures June through September, 2020, will receive the following onboard credit (OBC) amount:
      • US$50, per cabin, for 2 – 5 day sailings
      • US$100, per cabin, for 6 day sailings and longer
If you choose to continue to sail with us, we will automatically apply your onboard credit to your Sail & Sign account. There is no need to call us.
    • You may also cancel up to 30 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Any cancellation charges will be held as a future cruise credit (FCC) to be redeemed on a cruise within one year of your original sailing*.
      • If your reservation included Fly2Fun air, any monies paid for your air fare will be included in your FCC.  If you purchased independent air, please contact your airline carrier as they are being flexible with change fees.
      • Any pre-purchased Carnival shore excursions, specialty dining/spa or Fun Shop orders will be automatically canceled and refunds will be processed to your original form of payment by your bank within three weeks.
      • We are experiencing higher call volume than usual and are currently focused on assisting guests sailing March and April, 2020.  We encourage you to contact your travel advisor, Carnival Personal Vacation Planner, or access “My Cruise Manager” on Carnival.com to cancel your reservation.  Any penalties will be held in your account as a FCC.  You may also get answers to Frequently Asked Questions here.

We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to welcoming you on board!

    Sincerely,

This is exactly what started happening before the last round of cancellations. Many people said then that it was probably because of capacity cuts and it may be this time, but I'm not convinced.  Only one Breeze cruise (September 26) is showing up until November.  There are shorter cruises showing up out of Port Canaveral.  We have been booked on the Breeze on September 19 for well over a year.  So far we have only paid the deposit.  The final payment is due on June 21.  It was in July, but changed when we did a price reduction form.  We have been waiting until the last minute to pay.  But, at this point we will probably cancel instead of tying up the final payment.  Since we were booked before March 10, we can cancel and transfer our full deposit to one of our 2021 cruises.  I'm not very optimistic about September cruises at this point.

We booked before March. Would we be able to switch to a different sailing without a penalty ?

Didn't say anything about internal conversations.  Made it very clear in my post that nothing has been published on their website, so snark is not required.  Why can't they publish their plan?  Other lines (NCL for example) have done that.

I kind of think it’s weird they haven’t published any kind of plan Of action yet but I think with so much changing about how the virus spreads and how long it can survive on surfaces etc their plan of action might be constantly changing.
