  1. We ate at Gigi's one night for dinner on The Enchanted`s 10/15 to 10/22 sailing. They had salads, minestrone soup, a few types of pizza, calzone, a rolled eggplant dish and tiramasu on the menu (that I remember). We thought the food was good and it was a nice, relaxed atmosphere.
  2. You may be sailing from Manhattan Cruise Terminal, not Brooklyn. To my knowledge, Brooklyn cruise terminal is used by Princess and Cunard Lines (at least currently). I would check to confirm what cruise terminal MSC is using for your sailing.
  3. We disembarked the Brooklyn Cruise terminal this past Saturday October 22nd around 9:45 a.m. We stayed on the Enchanted Princess as long as possible because we had a later (2 pm) flight out of Laguardia. There were some taxis, but there was a very long line of folks waiting for a taxi. There was another long line of folks waiting for Ubers. We ended up taking a private car (black suv) to Laguardia. There were 6 of us that decided to ride together and the charge was $20 per person. There was a lot of stop and go traffic to the airport. Vehicle was newer, very clean and driver drove safely. I do not know the name of the car service, but they had several vehicles available for pick up at the port to go to the airport. I did notice on the taxi ride from Laguardia to the ship, there was a sticker on the side of the cab with the name of an app. on it. Our taxi driver said to download the app. and use it to get a taxi from the port to the airport, but I forgot to write down the name of the app. Taxi from Laguardia to Brooklyn cruise terminal was $38 plus tip. There is a taxi stand outside baggage claim area and there were plenty of taxis available. I did check with Dial 7 Car Service and they quoted me $190 for 4 people from Brooklyn Cruise Terminal to Laguardia. Good luck and I hope your transportation from the cruise terminal to the airport goes well.
  4. Thank you. I will definitely check out the on-line patter version on Ocean Concierge once on board. That will be helpful. The Medallion App., Journey View, schedule prior to boarding does list the days, times and names of the Broadway shows, two indivudual singers that are scheduled to perform and the comedian on the schedule, so it is helpful--just difficult to read because of the scrolling/moving of the screen.
  5. Our cruise departs tomorrow and I have been able to view the schedule on the Medallion app for a few days. I find it difficult to view. I click on a day or time to view and the screen scrolls too far and too fast. I wish there was just a list by day you could look at or by the entire week.
  6. Am I able to to use my phone using wifi calling for texting and phone calls while on the ship without any cellular charge (if on airplane mode)? I have used my phone this way when out the country and it worked great with no extra charges, but I do not know if it is the same on the ship? Thanks in advance.
  7. Thanks for the responses regarding MUTS. It is something we have enjoyed on warm weather cruises. Movie selection was generally not great, but we have seen a few newer movies that were pretty good. Popcorn, although appreciated, is generally not great either.
  8. Are MUTS shown on the NE Canada Itinerary? Is it too cold to watch movies on deck? Sailing on October 15th on The Enchanted. If they do show movies, what is being shown now? Thanks for any recent experience.
  9. You can call Princess on the phone or chat with a customer service rep. Give them your booking number and which passenger needs a wheelchair and they will add a wheelchair to your embarkation and debarkation. I did it through their chat option on the Princess website . It will then be on your travel summary under your personalizer when you print it.
  10. I tried to buy the Medallion internet today on the app for 1 device and the purchase price showed the full price ($69 and change I believe) and said I would receive a 50% discount for being Platinum in obc on board. I couldn't get the purchase to go through(received an error message)I chatted with Princess and they said I need to call back tomorrow for assistance.
  11. We will be going there soon also. I don't know how long your anticipared itinerary will take, so hopefully someone else can answer that question, but I did read there is a free hop on hop off Trolley and the #67 line will take you to the Cliff Walk and Mansions. I think It is RIPTA and it is called Bellevue Trolley. They have a website with information. Had anyone used this free trolley? I am interested in information also, but wanted to share the free Trolley option which we plan to use.
  12. Reps23, sorry to hear that Carmel Limo cancelled your return trip from the Brooklyn cruise terminal to Laguardia. Was it difficult to get a taxi and what was the price? Thank you.
  13. Cost of tour with Woody of Coastal Tours in Bar Harbor? How long was the tour? Ollies Trolley is sold out for October 18th. Electric car rental cost? Thanks in advance for feedback and any pricing.
  14. Thanks for your input. A car service would be nice, but it is pricey. I will check a price on Princess transfers. I know a few weeks ago there was a problem with Princess not providing transfers that were booked and paid for from Laguardia to the ship. Folks ended up having to get an Uber or taxi per Cruise Critic posts. Hopefully, this has been corrected/resolved.
  15. Any recent cruisers' experience/suggestions to get picked up at Brooklyn cruise terminal and driven to Laguardia? Are taxis readily available at Brooklyn cruise terminal? If yes, where do you go to get one when you get off the ship? Are Ubers fairly easy to order without a long wait? We will have 4 passengers on a Saturday with afternoon flights. Is it better to get off the ship (Princess) as late as possible--9 a.m. for easier taxi or Uber puck up (less congestion/people waiting? I did check with Dial 7 car service and they quoted me $186 which I believe is much more expensive compared to a taxi or Uber? There have been some postings by other Cruise Critic members that it is difficult to get a cab or Uber with so many people needing one at one time at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. Recent experience/suggestions are appreciated. It seems much easier to get a taxi or Uber from Laguardia to the ship, correct? Thanks in advance.
  16. Thanks. I will try accessing it again. I would prefer to fill it out and update it, if needed.
  17. We are on the same sailing and are not able to access the wellness questionnaire yet. We just get a blank page when trying to assess it.
  18. I would like to get back our limited free internet minutes as a perk. They were sufficient for our needs. Now we get a discount (in obc) to buy unlimited internet. It would be nice to give us a choice of what internet perk we receive instead of taking away a free perk that we actually used.
  19. The date we are looking for a hotel is for October 14th for one night pre-cruise with a stay, park and shuttle rate because we are driving to the area. We are sailing out of Brooklyn Cruise Terminal on the Enchanted Princess. Thanks for any input/suggestions!
  20. Thanks for the suggestion of Hampton Inn, Ridgefield Park, NJ. It sounded great. I called and they unfortunately only go to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. We are sailing on Princess out of Brooklyn cruise terminal. If anyone know of a similar hotel and stay, park and go package, please let me know. We need one night pre-cruise, parking for 7 nights and a shuttle to Brooklyn cruise pier. Breakfast would be an extra plus. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
  21. Princess refused to extend our goodwill fcc. Our travel agent tried his best.. We have decided to go on an October New England - Canada cruise. I am excited to go on a new itinerary.
  22. Thanks, everyone. Yes, we will need to book airfare, so thanks for letting us know we can use fcc for airfare booked through Princess. It sounds like a great itinerary and it would be on a new ship for us.
  23. Thanks everyone! Yes, we have a travel agent. I called him and he called Princess and he was also told no to an extension of the goodwill fcc. I just thought I would call myself. We could potentially do an October New England/Canada cruise out of NYC mid-October on Enchanted. We have not done a New England cruise. Has anyone sailed on this 7 day itinerary cruise--Newport, Boston, Bar Harbor, Saint John and Halifax? Thoughts? Input? Thanks!
  24. Thank you for your reply. I will follow your advice and call Princess again and talk to another customer service representative to see if they will extend our fcc to let us use it to pay the balance for our 1/7 cruise. It is worth a try!
  25. We have a fcc that is a goodwill credit expiring 12/31/22. We have a cruise booked leaving on 1/7/23. I just spoke with a Princess customer service representative and asked for an extension of the fcc to use for payment of the January 7th cruise. She said they never extend goodwill fcc. Any success getting this type of fcc extended? Very frustrating.
