We’re also cruising British Isles September 5, 2023 on Regal Princess.  What’s your sail date?  Yes, much less stressful to be picked up at the airport right at the exit door.  I also need time to relax comfortably after a long flight.

Also September 5.  🙂    Way too far out to get anxiety over this, but there you have it.  We live out in the country so using public transportation is very far out of our wheelhouse!

We’re using London Heathrow Cars.  Nice, private Mercedes sedan very reasonably priced and reliable.  The driver waits in the terminal with a sign, no walking around or getting lost.  The monitor your flights for arrival times.  I love getting off a seven hour flight and then getting to relax in comfort for the hour and a half it takes to get to Southampton.  The last thing I want is to ride in a bus or train or a van full of people.  Really not that expensive to be comfortable.

Thank you for that tip.  We don't sail until September of 2023 and I already had anxiety about finding the right bus/train.  Sounds like something we need to really consider!

  3. Hubby and I have shared a wifi package - only one device can be used at a time.  I sign out and he signs in with his phone.  Now with Princess Plus and we each get our own connection so no more signing in and out.  Have never tried setting it up as a hot spot so cannot answer that.

  4. Bon voyage!  We were booked on the Emerald for September 5, 2023 but have been moved to the Regal.  Will be following your adventures and learning so we can plan ours.  And Happy 40th ~ I recently hit the 70 mark but feel 40 until I look in the mirror or try to do something that I shouldn't do.  LOL  I wish I had the energy I feel coming from your plans!

We were in 6173 and they were in 6177.  I randomly checked the app on Sunday, Oct. 24 and our cabins had been moved.  I don't know when it happened exactly... but that is when I noticed.  Celebrity moved us to a cabin on deck 10 that was pretty far forward and I have some motion sickness issues so I called to request that they move us more midship.  Thankfully they did and now we're really happy with our cabin.

Thanks. We are in 6246 and it hasn't changed.  I wouldn't mind a move to an unobstructed balcony but not going to push it. Did not want to bid on an upgrade but maybe I will ask if there are any other balconies available after we board.  Thanks!

DW and I are sailing on Nov. 7th along with her brother and SIL.  We were both in cabins on deck 6.  We were moved to deck 10 and they were moved to deck 7.

If I may ask, how long ago did you receive notice of the change and what were the cabin numbers you were in on deck 6?  My app and the Celebrity website still show currently same cabin we booked. TIA

Is it smart to order a 3 pack even though for just two people?  Is it possible one test kit could get messed up so having a spare may be advisable?  I'm always thinking of having backup plans.

That is why I ordered the three pack, but now my back up may not be viable.  Waiting to hear back from Optum.  My back up plans have back up plans...LOL

I was reading in the news recently that Bose has also recently received approval to sell a hearing aid that doesn't require a prescription and it is much cheaper than regular hearing aids.   They have an app that you use to setup for your personal hearing limitations.

I think the hearing aid industry is going to see a revolution and huge price competition.   Yesterday the FDA announced a new rule for other companies to follow suite.

I checked into them for hubby but his hearing loss is too great for them to be of any help.  Their website says they are for mild to moderate hearing loss and his is classified as profound (on the way to being deaf as a post!!)

Just had an Optum/BinaxNOW kit arrive without the security seal.  They're sending a replacement ASAP.   Good reason to order early and/or order extras.

Wow - your post was at the top of a page and  I know I read it when you posted but normally I just go to the latest.  This made me get up and go check ours - and one of them the security seal was damaged when they put the sleeve on it so I will be contacting Optum right after I post this!   Thank you so much for mentioning to check them!!!

I'm a bit fragile today so bear with me.    I suffer from migraines but have not had one in 2 years due to prescription meds.   About 4 AM I was awaken by a headache and took my meds but I guess I was too late.   At first I thought I might have come down with Covid as I was sick and then have sweating spells followed by chills.     I finally had to take my injectable meds that knocked me out.   I didn't wake up until 9:45.

Good news is I'm feeling fine but feel like I was run over by a Mac Truck.  Should be back to normal in a couple hours.

Empathy from a fellow migraine sufferer.  Fortunately mine have improved greatly with age and retirement (stress reduction), however I now find the weather can cause one.  Hurricanes, tropical storms and extreme weather changes - Boom - headache!  I am wondering if the rain did not contribute to yours.  Hope you are feeling much better by now and enjoying your day and cruise.

Something else to consider, be aware of possible Legionella on any ship returning to service. From Cruise Hive "The disease is often associated with areas with aerosolized water, such as jacuzzies and fountains. Still, it is also at home when water remains stagnant for a long time, such as when a cabin is unoccupied for some time, and water in the tap remains stagnant."

Before Edge restarted Captain Kate posted a TikTok of staff going around and running water in bathroom sinks, showers and flushing toilets.  I believe they had a weekly schedule for each deck and cabin.

Astrazeneca is still not FDA approved however is accepted by the WHO also Celebrity. As of now one cannot mix a viral vector and an Mrna vaccine but that could change in the near future. Answers to these questions can be found on Celebrity's site under Healthy at Sea.

Yes, that is the reason they had to cancel the Equinox we were supposed to cruise on as a group.  I don't think it is right they should be penalized for doing what their government/guidelines recommended at that time!  We are double vaccinated with Moderna and waiting to see about boosters. Getting our flu shots the second week of October so we have that before we cruise on November 7,

Yes me too. I've done so much research not taking any chances. I'll take a printed copy as well as the one downloaded to my phone. Dose #1 says Covishield and #2 is Astrazeneca. From what I read both are acceptable

It is my understanding the cruise lines (at least Princess and Celebrity) will not accept Astrazeneca vaccine.  I have friends from Ontario that are waiting to cruise because the wife received one mRNA vaccine and one AZ.  If you know anything I would be thrilled to pass that along to them!
