If past precedent holds, were Carnval to declare bankruptcy, customers and shareholders would be at the bottom of the list. That is the reason the recent taking on of new debt was NOT good news for customers and shareholders, in my opinion.
No that’s actually good news because Carnival has enough cash to operate in their limited capacity for the remainder of the year if needed. Of course the sooner the better..

So, your thought process is that under re-organization, the court will take care of customers before the bankers, investors, ship builders, employee retirement/pension, catering services, fuel hedges, et al, those with high priced attorneys on retainer will come last.
I hope you're right.
Yes that typically what happens although this is certainly under unique circumstances. Investors by nature are risk takers. They knowingly invest or lend to companies knowing that there is risk involved. That is not the same for customers...

JaxsMama, thanks for the suggestion. My obc is showing up, but still no FCC. At least I know part of it has been done. I guess I need to call Carnival. Maybe I need a new PVP.😧
Yes call Carnival directly and ask them to get the resolution department to transfer the gift card balance to your new booking. The PVP could do that for you but he or she probably doesn’t want to wait on hold for you. But if you call shortly after they open then you won’t have a wait.

if they do go bankrupt (which I think won’t happened as long as they are able to take on investors.....) If they do go bankrupt and they have to reorganize.... More than likely the court will make sure that Carnival customers is taken care of first before their other debt obligations.
-
It makes no sense to get a refund if you paid by giftcards. You might as well get the fcc with the $600 obc.
-
Many people in my group also paid with Giftcards. We all rebooked for June 2021 and they transferred the amount to our new bookings and gave us $600 in obc. They did have to get someone from the resolution department to approve the transfer. The agents for some reason can transfer credit/debit card payments but they can’t transfer giftcards. So they have to get either a supervisor to approve or an agent in the resolution department to approve.

I know its all speculation at this point but if Carnival Cruise Line goes bankrupt then more than likely the courts would order that the company refund their customers. Carnival has a lot of assets and those assets can be use to satisfy their obligations to their customers.

Last month, we took a gamble & booked a 5 night mid-May cruise out of Galveston for a great price.
Just called Carnival yesterday & told them that we're concerned that the May sailing may be cancelled.
Agent was super nice & found exact same 5 nighter in Aug, for $70 less, upgrade from cheapest Up/Down inside stateroom to reg bed inside, went from forward-most 2nd deck to mid deck 8, plus $50 OBC.
Carnival's almost giving away the cruise.
Hope they go bankrupt by then...
You should have waited since they more than likely they will cancel most of the bookings untill mid June. You would have gotten ffc and $600 in obc.

Verizon user as well. If my phone already is turned on to WiFi calling, do I need the value plan or does the social plan work, as well?
Any plan will work along as you have it already activated prior to leaving.
-
This only applies to Grand Suites!!
-
I can also confirm Verizon wifi calling also works. But you have to activate wifi calling at home because Verizon will not allow you to activate wifi calling unless you are on their cellular network.

5 day cruises is 1000 points just fyi.. Or atleast it was on the Sunrise 3 weeks ago.
-
I took my neice and they didnt ask for it. I had it just incase but more than likely they wont ask for it.

There was a leak in my Cabin on the Carnival Fantasy. It was a terrible smell and I now wonder if it was sewage or grey water. The carpet was soaked. The ship was sold out and I had to deal with it. The only thing I got was a steak dinner and a bottle of wine from guest services.
-
If you have any left over balance after the cruise then Carnival will mail a gift card with the remaining balance to your home. I got mine one week after my trip. Fast

Actually they are doing ‘all the work’ but what is the everything you are talking about?
I mean if I want to do anything online like pay my balance, make purchases, and etc... I can do it myself online or over the phone instead of having to go through the TA.
-
You can still do everything online and you can work with other carnival employees if you use PVP. I cant stand when I'm locked down and have to do everything through the TA.
-
It's a really nicely remodeled ship. Its beautifully done and the updates to the cabins were awesome. Is it perfect? No but alot of people over exaggerate the flaws.

250? Since when has it been that high?

I never received an email but it is under my VIFP promotions. So check it. It may already be under your account and you don't know it.

I do it all the time. I book as a single and add in later. Just make sure you don't do it too late because of capacity issues.
-
If that's your kids then they have to let them board with you unless the adult booked in that room is the other parent/mom. That is Carnival's policy. In other words... If the other adult in the room is non parent then they can board with you. Again assuming that the minors are your children.

11 is the largest I've been able to get. Just incase anyone else is wondering...
OBC--Casino cash out
in Carnival Cruise Lines

Technically your not supposed to do this. But you have people going to the cage trying to cash out and now they are trying to stop this loophole.
