Tenders this morning were a mess.  I typed out all the details and then decided to delete because frankly i don't want to have someone call me names again because I talk about my experience.   Suffice it to say, a carnival worker laid his hands on my 8 year old child and both of us are nothing short of traumatized.  I don't know if I will be cruising carnival again after this experience.  I may just eat the $ paid on future bookings.  No amount of savings is worth this.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you .

We didn't hide them on debarkation day.  We hid them on our last cruise day, which was a sea day.  We hid them in the morning.  Wow.............just hoping others would enjoy finding them like we do. People need to chill out.

I loved finding them too. Not 28 like you though.

Do we need to download Google Meets? And someone remind me. If I’m in Hawaii doing this proctored test, I’m confused with times on what I pick on their time slots. Example I would want to do it at the hotel 2 days before. So do I pick what time if I want a 4 pm Hawaii time….I’m so confused lol

You don't need to download Google Meets. I was reminded by email (with a link to join) and by texts on my phone.

When you want to book a date and time,  at the bottom of the screen is a yellow band where you can change the time to Hawaii time.

I have not used lifecenters from overseas so cannot help you. They did ask where I was testing from and I replied Vancouver.

Gratuities are included in the fare here in the UK. May be this varies from country to country then.

Are you sure? I book through the UK and gratuities have never been included.

I agree with that. I don't know that I've ever seen one with names or addresses on it however.

The one I found on the Pride TA just had a note on it to take a selfie with it and send it to a website. The one on the Splendor was a home made one with a person's name and address on it.

  6. I was also on the Carnival Pride TA from Tampa to Barcelona in April.

My flight British Airways Barcelona to Vancouver  via Heathrow was $459 with Fly2Fun. One way flights to Vancouver can be expensive, usually over $1200.

My flight to London in November prior to the Carnival Celebration TA is $340, direct flight with Air Canada.

I have used Air2Sea flights before with Royal and Celebrity but this is the first time I have been able to use Fly2Fun with Carnival from Vancouver.

Thanks for the positive review.  We booked with them to do our testing in a couple of weeks prior to our next cruise.  Fingers crossed the experience is as good as your experience was and that everyone tests negative.

I have booked them again for August 9th.

    Have a great cruise.

This is great to hear Maryann.  We have booked with Lifecenters to do the test in Dublin next Sunday and we will be using the green box also.  i hope it all goes as planned.  Isn't this COVID virus a huge stress for us travelers!

Will be interesting to hear how well it works in Dublin and overseas.

    Have a great trip.

Yep, but we had 4 great cruises on her, including a repo and Hawaii. Would sail on her again in a heartbeat. She's even better since her upgrades, even with the strawberry donut decor! Plus,  it's where we met Jimbo! 😁

I love the Splendor too. Sailed on her out of New York a few years ago and a couple of weeks ago to Alaska. Booked again for next month.

Things are better today.  Breakfast food was good.

I do not have hot water in my Vista suite.  It isn't even luke warm.  It was feezing.  Luckily, I could go next door to the other room to shower...only it was luke warm.  Then, halfway through my shower,  it went cold.  I think this may be the problem with the pools.  I do not think the water heaters are working properly.  This is not just an issue of us being unrealistic Americans.  I am not even interested in getting in the pool. It is my kids...and TRUST ME my children are far more immune to cold than any adult.  They went down the water slides on The Splendor in Alaska when it was in the 40s, windy, and raining. The outside pool is cold. NO ONE has been in it when I have been out there.  No one.  Only in the hot tub.

The cruises before were to Iceland and the Norwegian Fjords so the hot temps in southern England don't really matter because that isn't where the boat has been for the majority of the last 3 weeks.

But everyone on board (passengers) are very friendly.  And most of the staff is very nice.  So, all-in-all, things seem better today.  I am very much enjoying our room and balcony.

Glad to hear things are better today and hope you get some hot water soon.

Enjoy the rest of your trip.

We are on the same cruise but clearly we are in an alternative reality. Boarding was quick and organized and they most definitely checked our Covid cards. The staff has bent over backwards to be helpful and always have a smile on their face.and a pleasant greeting for. Our food has been fine. Yes, the ship is showing her age but nothing to be so upset about. We are enjoying our cruise tremendously. We are both platinum and hadmatginal wait time at the Guest Service desk when we want a question answered.

    So glad to hear this.

I was on the Pride TA in April and had a wonderful time.

Guest laundry is put into tagged bags and all those bags are put into massive machines, not single load machines.

    I agree.

In the old days, pre-covid, we were able to have "Behind the Scene" tours and they showed us how the guest laundry is done. Has to be on hot to sanitise.  Colours, black ,white all in together.

This worked with the green boxes that the govt. gave us ?  I see that we can do 2 at a time for $25  thats great !!  One downfall for the date we would need to take it  they only have apts around 1 am....

Yes the free green boxes. Wait until they tell you to open the box in case they have been tampered with.

I had one appt at 1215 am in April as I needed that day's date on the test. Good luck.

So, comparing the two, would you say Lifecenters.ca worked better for you? How many were testing at the same time? Thanks for your thoughts!

Yes Lifecenters.ca was easier. It was only me.

We have been on six cruises since the start up, and we have attended every Diamond event, and not once has the Captain been there, which is probably a good thing. Haven't seen one at the Platinum / Diamond VIFP party either.  :classic_cool:

We were told that Carnival is having the Captain avoid contact with guests to prevent him from catching Covid.

We had the Diamond party the other day on the Splendor.  Only about 25 people. Delicious appetisers and cocktails.

Also the Platinum / Diamond event with drinks only.

The captain was present at both events but kept his distance and did not mingle.

I have a  question regarding difficulties accessing ArriveCan within 72 hours of a return to Canada.

We recently had an Alaska cruise - Vancouver to Vancouver - and had no difficulties with ArriveCan. We do not have smart-phones and found the on-line version easy.  During the voyage on the Queen Elizabeth I tried to access ArriveCan using the ship's desk-top computers. I had no reason to do this other than curiosity but we will need it on the Queen Mary 2 in early October.  I could never connect - the circle went round and round on my attempts over three days. I sent an e-mail to ArriveCan and received a reply (after we got home!) saying it was a problem with Cunard's internet. I had no problem connecting to any other site, including e-mail.

Our next voyage is one-way Québec to NY with an immediate return to Canada by air. I know I don't need to complete ArriveCan for this one-way sea voyage. But if I can't connect to ArriveCan within 72 hours how can I complete this for the flight? Closer to the trip I can contact ArriveCan for advice, but I wonder if anyone has suggestions so I can plan well in advance.

I returned from Barcelona with BA in May. To check in I needed a printed copy of the confirmation code. I just had a screen shot on my phone. The ArriveCan website was down so not due to the ship's internet. So this can happen. Eventually was able to print from my email receipt.

This morning returning to Vancouver from Seattle( from Alaska ) needed to do another ArriveCan entry for the land crossing. Yesterday had one for the marine entry in Victoria, obtained before boarding the ship in Seattle last week. I was able to use the ship free sites which include airlines etc.
