  1. In the email we received yesterday, we are sailing in 12 days, it says upon embarkation we can enjoy lunch in the Horizon Court. No mention of the MDR.

I think Princess tries really hard to dissuade passengers from storming the dining room but having several B.V.E folks joining us, we are a shoe in anyway.

  2. If you do not find your answers here, a call to Princess can help with question # 1. Full suite passengers get to eat breakfast in Sabatini's which no one else can. As far as special lounges, there is nothing like the Neptune on Princess that I have ever seen.

(Holland America Line Neptune LoungeHolland America Line introduced an industry-first with the Neptune Lounge, an exclusive retreat for guests staying inNeptune Suites and Pinnacle Suites. 3. Forgot to add earlier, as the only kid onboard, I remember one day going to the Soda-A-Go-Go and keeping the poor bored crew member company, while he made me the only hot dog served the whole trip. Also at 14 years old, I would go into the LaPetite Casino and play a roll of nickles in the slot machines from time to time. And finally, as we were sailing up the inside passage to Alaska, I would climb down to the mooring deck and into the front bow rail (think Titanic) and watch as we plowed ahead. Still surprised I got away with that, Oh the memories!

  4. One small example of the difference between Sitmar & Princess...Sitmar's souvenir coffee cups were made from Staffordshire Fine Bone China from Sherwood England; Princess souvenir coffee cups are ceramic made in China. ;)

I'm not sure what exactly I have (quality wise), but it is a small upright white ceramic tea pot/creamer jug? with the Sitmar logo on it, several Captains Circle glasses in grey cloth bags and 2 white Sitmar ashtrays. And no I did not lift them, but I think my mom may have:cool:

  5. Oh my god! Sitmar holds the top spot in my cruising memories. The white glove treatment, the buttered linguine with meat sauce and on and on. Never really got into the cakes with liquor poured over them to keep em moist, but I suffered thru it:D

Cruised the Fairsea to Alaska, 14 days out of San Francisco. To a young kid, this was the cruise bug biting hard enough to break skin, so to speak!

  6. I'm about to take the Grand Princess to Hawaii and wondered if anyone had the nightly menu order available? (day 1: Sailaway menu day 2: Princess menu, day 3: Cosmopolitan menu, etc)

I found the Dining Room menus on the Princess site, but not which night each one was used. Now that we can make alternative restaurant reservations online, it will be easier to pick which night to schedule.

    Thanks!
