We had splurged on a mini suite, which is our budget, and then about three weeks before the cruise, were offered an upgrade to a full for $1800. I jumped at it.

Been filming in 4K for about two years now..post production of vacations is kind of a hobby/love affair.

    Glad you liked it!

  2. From what I can find so far is the Royal comes to the west coast the end of 2019. Hopefully we get another good one with her for 2020. Schedules should be out April 20 from what we're hearing on here. Sure hope so because I'm excited to get a good cabin I want early! Then I'll wait for the promo I want.

    I like your thinking [emoji846]

  3. Hi Cassandra! I'm in Chula Vista. Actually the east side of I805 between Southwestern College and Costco on H street. In Rancho Del Rey. We're pretty close!

I'm on the Ruby April 8-23, 2019 15 day Hawaii. I'm so excited about that! I'm waiting for the 2020 Princess schedules to come out. I'll probably do the Mexican Riviera in the fall 2020. Looks like the Royal is doing that route. Ruby goes to Australia and Crown in going to Europe. I really like those 2 ships. I hope the pricing on the Royal won't be outrageous since she is so new. After Hawaii I'll have to scale back a little! Cruising solo is expensive! But I am pretty sure I'll be staying with Princess. I like their ships and the service.

  4. Hi Lynn...good 2 see a fellow San Diegan and a cruise lover 2...mind if I ask where abouts...we are in the El Cajon/Santee area.

Well prices will probably be higher in the beginning and will drop...has happened for us on other itineraries. Right now for this October to MR is running about 829pp for interior..i think it was the ruby.

  5. Yes, all of Europe is out. It’s the exotics and America’s that people are waiting for and probably Asia.

Not Europe, or anything else it appears. Princess do not list anything past December 2019. fb270bfdbeabbec8eed203bf7b16dad2.jpg

  6. Is this just for the Australia or all the sailings to be released on April 19th...cant open it at work for some reason the site is blocked.

It might be your system, the below link works fine - and I’m just on a mobile device.

Thank you, this link works perfectly.

If you have access to South America for 2020, it would be welcomed!

Yes a great ship which we hope will be around for a long time given its history.

    Hi Tom,

I was not on the 50th, so can’t remember you!

A great picture with Gavin, though!

  8. If you are looking for Summer 2020...Summer 2019 was just released this past November. So you have a good wait until much, much later this year.

Fall 2019 was released in mid December 2017.

Paul/Fishywood... thank you for this post. In the experience of either of you, when historically does S. America (Jan-Apr ish) come out? Looking for Feb-Mar 2020.

    Thank you :)

    ~Bob

  9. Nice 4K video; watched it on my Samsung 4K tv. Thanks for posting. Is this your fav Princess ship?

Thank you. Yes, but for sentimental reasons- Island Princess a close 2nd.

What I REALLY would like to know is when Princess’ 2020 schedules will be out. Want to do. World cruise segment on PP, if we can- really like this ship [emoji846]

  10. I like the touch where you hosed down all the decks to bring out the color like they do on the home improvement shows. LOL

    Thanks for the video.

Well that’s just the preproduction bit in me, I aim to please

Post is where the real fun is. The entire film of the cruise came out really well, especially pops on a 4K television.

  11. Thank you so much for posting this video. Awesome job. We were on the Pacific about 3 years ago and it was all very dark wood and colors. My DS said the atrium reminded him of the Haunted Mansion ride.

Boy will he be surprised when he sees this video. Can't wait to be back on her this August.

Thank you, I really enjoyed making it; I absolutely loved our first time on her where this was made - November 2017 in the Adriatic [emoji8]

  12. The Pacific Princess is our favorite ship too. We have spent 7 weeks on her so far. We have always gotten a mini suite. Princess has put new photos of the cabin interiors on the web site. I am concerned because instead of the two comfortable arm chairs there is now a low back stool. I know I will never be comfortable in that. It looks like they have a low back chair at the desk also. We are booked for 5 weeks in 2019 but I am not sure I can stand 5 weeks without a good chair in the cabin.

5 weeks in a mini suite. Wow. Hope the chair works out for you [emoji846]

  13. Are all the benefits of booking a future cruise while onboard, transferable if you subsequently modify your booking?

The only objective answer you will have received from anyone is that it depends on the cruise line and/or one’s persistence. As your question specifically mentions “all“, the answer must be ‘no’.

As you see from my cruisemate Barb (TMLAalum), she was able to do it, though there -is-no-consistent- answer possible. Just keep asking until you feel like stopping the pursuit [emoji846]

    Cheers,

    Bob

  14. Morning, Does anyone know if I will have enough time to go on the excursion of Pearl Harbor when I have a 3:00 pm flight. I spoke with Royal and they say it begins at 8:15 and it is 5 hours which gives me 1.5 hours to catch my flight. Is that enough time to go through customs and security & make my flight. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Am on active-duty Navy and spent four years there through 2015... if you are disembarking that morning, then you will have time to get over there.

It does not take five hours to go through it unless you want to read all the murals, and see every exhibit. However, I strongly advise you to get there no later than 7:30 AM so that you can -already be in place in line- to grab tickets for the first public water shuttle; which should be 8 AM. Check directly yourself with the National Park Service to see what is current.

If- you are just getting in line around 8 or 8.15, and have not already obtained a ticket, you may have to wait an hour or two depending on crowds just for your shuttle to go over.

Please understand it is very dependent on what crowds happen to show up. In order to not have your visit disappointingly unavailable to you, please, again- show up very early.

I highly recommend that you do not try to go through Agriculture at the Honolulu airport and be at your gate with only 90 minutes to spare. Hawaiian time is a well–earn reputation.

Give yourself at least 2.5 hours from putting your foot inside the airport before your plane is scheduled to depart.

    Cheers,

    Bob
