  1. I think the seat pads have need renewed
  2. Itā€™s hear just spent 30 minutes trying to get served
  3. I have no idea if Kings Court has new furniture
  4. Shower curtains still here Same sofa and carpet in cabin
  5. Someone asked the poster what had been replaced and his reply was 'everything'. We can only guess. I was last on her 2018 so will just post what I see and let more recent passengers judge if it's new. I am sure new carpet will be spotted straight away. It was bad then let alone more recently.
  6. Taken from another social media place and credit must go to Leven Doorgaan I hope to get some inside photos as soon as I can this coming Thursday as we are on the Bruges trip and now she is back in water I can not wait.
  7. If she is on time I will be able to share some inside photos as soon as we are onboard having everything crossed for the 16th.
  8. Great to see her getting such a big face lift but what are the chances of QM2 actually sailing to Bruges next Thursday 16th?
  9. The other half won't be missed by me. Do you still get some if its a mini. Just booked Burges 3 days.
  10. Thank you Schattenfell for reporting back. Pleased, you are not feeling better. Just to add as soon as we got back we emailed Cunard with pout feelings and concerns regarding this conference and if it was going to become a more regular sight to be sharing our space with extremely large groups. We have had no reply back. I think 3 weeks is long enough to at leat acknowledge us. We did feel safe on board not wearing masks but actually wore them more outside on coaches or crowded places due to the fact we had no idea who we were mixing with, at least on board we had all started relatively covid free.
  11. This is better than paying so much for a certificate. They were still open to fraud. We did 3 in our house and all that was asked was the test number and photo of test result. If you were that way inclined you could have done the normal [UK] test got a positive result but then got another family member to do the one with the certificate. If you are this way inclined, neither testing is 100% safe, honesty wise . I see it is still asking for proof, so will assume you will just need to show your NHS [if in UK] result via the replied email or text message as was per norm. Do we now if this is a one the day test or day before?
  12. Sorry to hear this, we tested on the morning we left on the 10th and all ok. Hope it's not bad and you recover fast.
  13. This means you can never comfortably have afternoon tea and eat in Britannia on an early sitting. I wonder if the change is due to short staff in the dining room, making people late for the shows. We were served dinner [entrƩe] at 9.50 last week, having been seated promptly at 8.30
  14. Benpointer You have summed it up perfectly. I agree with everything you have said. We did have a good time and like someone else said the staff were all really very good, very polite and we did receive good service, 90% of the time. Managers need to do more though and they really need to pay their staff more or they really will be in trouble as clearly, so many have found work else ware. *apologies, I have no idea why my text is in bold
  15. I would be very interested if you felt the same as we did. Enjoy the rest of your time here
  16. Also back home now. We had a good trip, weather not too good but that is no one's fault. I do feel things went down hill a little after a couple of days. I really don't want to be on any ship holding a convention ever again. The convention group I believe around 250 moved around the ship in large groups and when they arrived in dozens to any bar it felt very over whelming. They had no concept of anything around them, and chatter would fill a room to the point you could not hear yourself talking. The dress code went to rack and ruin. Did they even know what they should have been wearing or even care, I have no idea? Every evening so very many of them walked in to the dining room wearing what ever they fancied. This included jeans tracksuits baseball caps [including on backwards] mini skirts, midway tops and fat trainers. Just about anything went. Gala night was exactly the same. I even asked if I should go back and put my jeans on!! 8.30 dining and one evening our main course was delivered at 9.50pm, getting to the 10pm show was never going to happen. It appeared alot of the conference group were ordering 2 and 3 main courses EACH and over whelming the kitchen and getting what they were asking for. They also table hoped all evening used mobile phones face timing family or chatting away. Nothing was said to any of them that I could see curbing any of this. I would never knowingly choose to go on any cruise if a conference was going on every again, no matter who it was or what country they were from. It simply changed the dynamics of the entire ship, and in no way on a positive side. We and others I had spoken to on occasion had walked out of the Queens room and the chart room due to no being served. I believe the conference group were on some sort of all exclusive drinks deal. The staff on board were all very polite and as helpful as they could be, but their attention was often being drawn away, mainly while dining in the evening. There did seem to be a shortage of staff [no mention of covid] Less sommelier and waiters. Talking to some of them, I think Cunard are really struggling to recruit. I now think the culling of passengers from our cruise a few week's prier was not because of visa issues, but because they just can not get the staff any more. The Veranda was closed. A couple told us they had prebooked a meal in there for a birthday, turned up to go in and told it was closed. They had not been told it had been cancelled beforehand! As said before, no meals in the Golden Lion. We also never saw any officers of any ranking. This I do understand. Masking wearing was an option throughout the seven days and very few wore them. I never once heard anyone being called for or back to their rooms, so hopefully if covid was on board it was in low numbers. We tested our selves this morning to be on the safe side and were all ok. I love Cunard very much but this experience has left us wanting to look at other companies. The powers that be prioritised a convention over passengers that would and do return time and time again over people on a free knees-up. I will add no one should have been prioritised, we should all have been treated the same no matter how or why we were on board. Setting this aside, it was lovey to be back on board and the Queen Victoria did look lovely. I am sure the people on board today will have a totally different experience and a more positive say.
  17. I am yet to see if he is doing a talk or simply having a holiday, but Lord Dannatt, retired senior British army officer and member of the House of Lords is on board.
  18. I was hard, I volunteered, Someone had too šŸ˜‰
  19. Thankfully no but we did get a little fizz on the floor! This meant it had to be opened properly as soon as we got to our cabin. It means the Pol acker is still sat there full. Also the mini bar was empty. They are happy to deliver to your room but we have not done this.
  20. I think 8pm will be to early to walk in. We got down there at 8.20 last night and they called us over to come in. Show time after 8.30 sitting is 10pm but it has been cancelled one night due to a "sickness" A film was offered instead. Will Smith in King Richard or something like that, the tennis one Afternoon tea is also served in the Lido and you can order to your room no charge. Carry your box of wine. I had a bag full of tonic a bottle of gin and baileys plus 2 prosecco and managed to drop the lot out on the floor at security. They just laughed at my mortified face! I am not a big wine drinker so can't help with that one. If you are not a big drinker and alcohol package is not worth it. Evening program in on the bed every night with a now not impressive NON Godiva chocolate. I was so underwhelmed I've not even eat any yet!
  21. I forgot to add there is a very large Mexican contingency on board at a Ford convention. I never knew they did this kind of thing. There has to be a good 100 plus of them at least. It has changed to dynamics on board and they are quite loud when they often appear in large groups. Not loud in a nasty way at all but it does draw attention. The yacht club was quiet full and everyone having a great time. Some of them also have not got the memo re dressing for dinner. JEANS on a gala night, in fact every night and one sits there with a baseball cap on the whole time while others sit eating holding phones and chatting. I'm so glad they are behind me It would drive my crazy. Let me add not all are dressing like this most are making an effort. Is this new to Cunard hosting conferences. It is a first time I have seen one on board.
  22. Wednesday, now 6th July We are having a great time. The weather is pants, drizzle at both ports so far and hazy views but that could always happen on a trip like this. Life on board feel very normal so far. i'd guess 95% are not wearing masks and all staff are. Sitting at all bars and not much mask wearing in the theatre either. All the staff we have come across are so friendly, extremely helpful and very chatty. I feel like they are all glad to be back on board as much as we are. Nothing is to much trouble. We did have a very smelly bathroom for a good day {I had heard this in the past with others] It now seems to be fixed, fingers crossed. We have received a $40 voucher each for the spa, I am not sure if that's a normal thing or their way of an apposite. I'm not sure if we will have time to use it though. I think the food is excellent [Britannia] It is my 3rd cruise and the food is the best I have had. No Captains party, in fact I have not seen any high ranking officer as yet. We are given complimentary fizz at our B/W gala evening at our table. I was told the ship has 60% passengers and 70% crew. For the person who asked, yes Britannia dining has a full set of new dining chairs they are a soft blue colour and a mix of leather and fabric. I am relaxing for a hour or so, after our 8 mile hiking at Skjolden today so if you have any questions I can try and answer while I have the laptop out.
  23. ok that worked might be wonky signal This is the on board letter waiting in our room
  24. Edie to add there was food in the lido earlier, they must have had a little clean up break. Usually there was a little something in between but not today any way. No pub food for now I think they said due to capacity or staff. I will ask again why and get a full answer. Most people are not mask wearing [for now] All staff are. The ship is up to 60% capacity and 70% crew. So the bar staff said. I know how to add files bluemarble but it's giving me an error message. "there was a problem uploading" my file size 3.1 mb
  25. Very easy just be organised. No big queue. Also NO food anywhere not till 6 no pub food at all any day and no lido till 6pm and Iā€™m starving šŸ«£
