I believe the OP was talking about the "Drinks & More" package that was available since the restart, but became unavailable in recent months. It included Premium Drinks, a couple of bottles of wine, a wine tasting, unlimited items from your stateroom minibar, and $50 of casino credit.

I did this on Equinox last Thanksgiving and it was NOT worth it. Granted I booked the "Drinks & More" package when it was on sale so it was around $9 per day instead of the usual 50 or more (don't know what the regular price was).

I was expecting to get chips and candy bars plus mini bottles of assorted alcohol. I received 2 Kind bars and 4 mini bottles of Tito vodka plus a bottle of Chardonnay and a bottle of red but that was it. Yes, I asked the Suite Butler for more items but was told "they weren't providing those items at this time". I had read others posting about getting snickers bars, pringles, etc. Was not my experience.

I usually complete the surveys after EVERY cruise but unfortunately I was sick after returning and the link expired.

One of the signs explaining the Uber and Lyft Issues at the Port. Could be a "Marketing" thing to take the contracted vans. We decided not to take a chance and booked the Contracted van. It was easy and $11 per person

I'm not buying this. An Uber for 2 people would be less than $22, the hotel just wants the revenue.

Plus, if you were indeed "dropped off at the gate" which is a good mile or two from the ship, wouldn't you report that to Uber? And then that driver would be tagged as "unable to deliver to pier" and those trips would not be offered to them via the app. Remember you have to pick your drop off point so its not like the driver and Uber doesn't know where they are taking you.

  3. I was on Equinox for Thanksgiving and we stopped in Falmouth. The tour guide told us they had just started receiving ships the week before that so it had been a while for them.

I did a rum plant tour that included an aviary. I was a little disappointed. First off, it was not a working rum factory but a building that used to be one - don't even know how long ago. Then the aviary that was there...kind of wasn't. Someone was supposed to be taking care of the birds and rabbits during Covid and that didn't happen so a lot of the animals perished, which was sad.

You are not alone in that situation - which is why my phone and my SeaPass card never meet.

BTW, are your sure after your "few drinks" it just wasn't operator error with the room key......😁

That's the bad part - it was no where near my phone. I used to wear my card around my neck on a lanyard. And yeah, at first I figured it was operator error then remembered I didn't drink that much...yet.

I also have issues with Fitbit's and digital watches. They just stop working.

  5. I always print mine out cause my phone will take a dump at the most inopportune times. Technology hates me - I can zap a room key faster than anyone you know. My record is on Equinox when I sat in the lounge waiting to get into my cabin for about an hour at a bar. Bought a few drinks - no problem. Go to get into room for 1st time and key doesn't work. Yup, that's me.

Plus I don't like strangers handling my phone in order to view what's on the screen.

I just did not think the retreat lounge to be anything special.  Yes, it is nice to have a small, separate room with coffee, juice and some danish available.  Chairs are set up in row format, not really conducive to enjoying a coffee and danish.  Better choices onboard.  Save the calories and enjoy Luminae!

I'm trying to use the lounge instead of a crappy hotel breakfast.

  7. Anyone know what time the Retreat lounge opens? Last time I got there about 11 and we boarded at 1130. I was thinking of getting there earlier and taking advantage of the continental breakfast. I'll be staying at a hotel the night before and why pay for their breakfast when I can get the Celebrity one instead, right?

  8. Ok, I think we can all agree the TV stations on the cruise are pretty crappy. Unless you like 24/7 news or 2 ESPN channels. They used to have an HGTV like station but that was not the case when I was on Equinox in November.

Anyway, I digress. Has anyone ever used a Fire stick on the cabin tv? I'm just wondering if it would work. Would that count as one of your devices on the Wifi? Are you able to switch between the devices using the Wifi? Like say your phone and a tablet?

I'm not that technologically advanced so please be kind.

In November 2021... Luminae on Edge DID have escargot on the always available verbal menu every day.  Additionally, I remember creme brulee, caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, & french onion soup.  Oh...and the steak of the day with baked potato.

OMG!!! You just made my day. This was the biggest block I had for booking Edge. Thank you!!!

  10. HI! We met briefly on Equinox in November. I am booked on the Edge (1st time) for March, also in a Sky Suite, so I'm curious to see your review. Edge Luminae doesn't allow you to order from the MDR menu so I'm going to miss that (escargot....don't judge me).

I've been debating about trying one of the other restaurants but I don't want to give up the service you get in Luminae. Have a great time and pack that globe dress!

Are you sure this was Equinox? I was just on there last month and didn't see a hot tub, sunglass or that cabinet with towels...and I was up there every day in a different section each time.

I just did this a few months ago. Since my fare was double as a solo, the only fare change was the port fees and taxes for the second guest. Then an additional deposit was required for the additional passenger.

That's what I wanted to hear, awesome! Thank you.

Below is a link too Cruise Addicts events at sea page.  This site lists incidents at sea and in the water going back several years.   If you go through all the covid stuff a couple of things  become apparent.   A large number of deaths and overboard cases are crew suicides with the occasional passenger suicide.   Most of the incidents of people overboard are drunks or drug related and as many have said, you don't just fall overboard.  Also, there is no evidence that Carnival produces more overboard indigents, a lot are on Royal Caribbean ships also, remember Carnival and RC would normally have more because they have many more ships.   Take a look at this web site, it is really quite informative.

This is really interesting. It seems as if they were all adults except for the child that fell out of an open window the grandfather claimed he thought was closed.

  14. So I booked a SS on Edge for just myself in March and ow someone wants to go with me. I'm wondering what this is going to do to my price because I booked during a good sale. I cannot price the same cabin now because the only suites available are CS and above. Anyone have this happen before? Do they honor my original price or start over?

Background: Was on the Edge on July,  the Equinox in Oct-Nov and am on the Carnival Glory currently where it’s self serve buffet.  I do enjoy things about carnival in that it’s more lively/active and at the moment, due to the child care club being closed there isn’t many kids.

On this sailing, I witness the usual bad buffet behaviors but noticed a new one.  At the Carnival buffet, a woman in front of me seemingly had OCD.  She was getting grits but would slowly scoop a quarter full ladle of grits I'd guess six-eight times; once her grits bowl was full she decided to spend a few seconds positioning her grits bowl on the plate.  She then received bacon (that’s the only thing carnival staff serves at the buffet) and again she uses her fingers to position the bacon strips on her plate.  Now with her greasy fingers she grabs the potato tongs and grabs a potato wedge one by one attempting to position them on the plate to her likening.

This must be the same lady I got behind that inspected every single piece of lettuce before she put it on her plate. I had to walk away before my head exploded.

  16. I just did this on Equinox in November. Started with 2 apps in the brew bar then down to Murano. Did not get a galley tour. Did not get a cookbook. It was a lot of food but like someone else said, I didn't eat all of it. I liked all the wines except for the 2nd white. That was the consensus around the table - there were 11 of us. Total time was a little over 2 hours.

DATE OF CRUISE AND "REVOLUTION" COMMENTS

    November 2021

Equinox has had a partial "Revolution".  I really enjoyed the Retreat Deck. It was great to not hear a lot of people while lounging on deck. It wasn't crowded even on sea days.

Looking forward to sailing with you! If you find yourself in search of company/conversation during sail away, I’ll be drinking Chandon at the Sunset Bar.  I’ll be the one in a sundress with a world map printed on it.  😁

Sounds good! No idea what I'll be wearing, I'm not that organized. LOL.
