Yes thats what Sojourn will be doing... a 38 day "driving holiday" at very leisureky pace around Australia...!
Fuel bills will be lower as its almost one (uninspiring, unexciting ) port a day...
Really ?
I understand where this itinerary might be unappealing to someone from Australia. Coming from the the US, having never been to Australia or New Zealand, we are very enthusiastic. We will miss seeing some things in the Asian ports of course, but this new schedule is actually more to our liking.
I sympathize with all who are impacted one way or another by current conditions.

I brought my own bottle on board to refill from the tap. The ships water is not good tasting. I think that providing water that is palatable as well as potable would be a basic service of a company in the hospitality industry. HAL does not.

We’ll be on Eurodam. Thanks, Kazu. VT and Randy too!

I’m sure these questions have been asked before but i’m having trouble with the search function.
What brand of toiletries are provided? Is a bubble bath/bath gel included?
Also, is there a DVD player? If so, is there a dvd library on board?
Is it true that the library(books) has been almost eliminated?
Thank you for any info you can provide.

Thanks, all. Good to know

Does anyone know if there is a rowing machine in the fitness center/gym?
thank you for any info you might have.

Looks like it will be very easy to eat exactly as I wish! Thanks for posting.

Thank you everyone for the quick replies. Breakfast options sound great. Smoked salmon and cream cheese will suit me just fine!

I have a question about breakfast options on HAL - Eurodam. Eggs do not agree with me and I don’t eat pork and beef. Is smoked salmon available? Chicken or turkey sausage? In the Lido or the restaurant would be fine. Thank you very much for any help. We’ve sailed on Holland before, but it’s been quite a few years -

hello,
after seeing so many posts about dress code 'opinions' I am just wondering when i am coming back to my cabin at 7.30 or 8pm after a workout - even though i always try and take the least public venue route - will I enrage the dress coders? will i need to protect myself from caviar being thrown at me in protest?
i suppose if i start really training now then i can outrun them?
i have in all honestly been looking at the online levels in maps and plotting a route of 'least resistance' or at least least public areas - but there still seems to be one or two?
just that the threads here seem very 'engaged' on dress codes...........
thanks

I've been on loads of Seabourn cruises. Life on board a Seabourn ship has no relationship to 99% of the conversations that take place here on Cruise Critic.
Sure, one can glean some information about cruising from these boards, but it's really more for entertainment purposes. IMO.

We were delighted to see the tea time nibbles and pre dinner canapés served buffet style again.

Late evening. We never go to shows. They usually disappoint. We frequently enjoy room service for dinner. We do not drink so we don’t go to bars

This is so true. It's odd that some cannot fathom that there are many ways to enjoy cruising.

My last two times on the Sojourn the movie selection was very limited and did not suit me.

Wondering if anyone has requested a special order meal at lunch time (Colonade or Restaurant)? Big dinners aren't for us - but we do enjoy an indulgent lunch occasionally. I'm thinking of things not ordinarily served at lunch time i.e. Dover sole , steak and lobster, etc. I know Seabourn is very accommodating but don't want to throw the galley too much of a curve ball. Thanks for any info.

No more bridge? Gee, I hope that rumor isn't true! Bridge is a must-have activity for me.

When at a port of call where we may want to do some snorkeling independently, will Seabourn loan us some snorkel equipment to use for the day? I'm not certain that they carry such on board, but thought they might because of the marina.
Thanking you in advance for any info.

Can anyone tell me if binoculars are provided in each suite? We're thinking that in Alaska they would be really nice to have.Thank you for any replies.

Thank you everyone for your replies. good to hear from people who have used the service. Yamoto sounds like a wonderful and well respected company.

We're flying into Osaka and then going on by train to Kobe. We will stay there 2 days before we board our cruise.
From what we've read in our online research, there seems to be a baggage-forward service that will deliver your luggage directly from the airport to your hotel. At a very reasonable rate. I think Yamoto might be the name of the service.
The trains do not have space for luggage. This seems like a great solution. We're wondering if anyone has any experience with this service. We don't like to be seperated from our luggage...but it sounds to be very reliable.
We'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on this. Thank you.

I am very sorry to say that I didn't go to Japan so I have no comment. Others on our ship did go to Japan and said the trains were very easy and comfortable. Being Japan you may want to look at the train web sites as luggage storage maybe easier then you think. In Europe the bullet trains had plenty of luggage storage with cameras etc. on that section. So very safe. I'm sure Japan would have the same. Check into it. As far as cost, Japan is a very advanced country and cost is high for that reason, similar to the USA.
Happy Planning,
Capt. Ron
Thank you for your reply. I will continue my research.
Best regards

Capt. Ron,
This might be a rather mundane question but here goes. We're flying into Osaka and our cruise departs from Kobe. It's not very far away, but it looks as though we have a few options. 1) train - difficult with luggage. 2) high speed ferry to Kobe airport - the website's directions are a little confusing -- in reality is it? 3) taxi - pretty expensive for a rather short ride.
Do you have an opinion as to our best option?
Thank you for reading and considering my question. Much appreciated.

Thank you for your responses. I guess I'll have to wait and see. There aren't a lot of sea days so maybe maybe not. Thank you.

We haven't been on Regent in quite some time. I'm wondering if they typically have organized duplicate bridge with a director?
Thanks for any input.

If you like an almond croissant for breakfast you can place a special order. They will have one everyday for you or as often as you like. Regular, and I think chocolate, croissants are always available. This was how it was just recently on Odyssey. The almond ones are great!

The Sojourn's sailings on 3/22, 4/3, and 4/6 are all now blocked from booking. We booked the Sojourn 3/22 sailing after having our 3/14 sailing on the Ovation cancelled. I'm guessing with all three of these sailings, that a cancellation notice is likely for our 3/22 sailing on the Sojourn. I did check their other ships which were still open to booking, so I think this is a Sojourn only issue at this point. where did you see this?
