  1. How is beer served at the bars on Oasis?  Is it in cans?  Bottles?  I'm asking for a friend who will be on a cruise with us in a couple of weeks.  I'm not a beer drinker so I didn't know the answer to this question.  Not sure why they want to know but I told them I would ask the experts here!

  2. Sailing on the Oasis in a few weeks and I was wondering what type of hair dryer is in the cabin?  Is it a full sized one and where is it located?  I've been on the Oasis before but its been a while and I can't remember.  Just trying to decide if I need to bring my own or use the one that's in the cabin.  TYIA

If you tell your dining room waiters they will bring a dessert with a candle and sing happy birthday. No additional charge.

Do you tell them the day of the birthday or before?  I am traveling with friends and one of them is having a birthday on day 5 of our 7 night cruise.  I would like to surprise her with the dessert and the happy birthday singing.

  4. Has anyone recently sailed on Oasis?  We leave August 28th and I'm wondering what shows do we need reservations for?  In April we were on the Anthem and the only shows requiring reservations were those in 270.  I'm assuming reservations are needed for the ice show and diving show but I could be wrong.

Honestly for $8 a day, and the convenience of never having to carry or get your soda in the room, which does not really have a full refridgerator, is just too much hassle.

Yes you have to carry it on the ship, and lug it around until you get to your room....but if you drink one or two while waiting for you room, it gets lighter

I get it but we are doing the New England/Canada cruise for 9 nights so most days we will be off the ship.  I don't think I need to keep it cold I assume I can just take a cup and fill it with ice.

  6. I have never brought soda on board any ship.  But in September a friend and I are on Adventure for a New England/Canada cruise.  We both recently became Diamond so we get our 4 drinks per day.  On this cruise we will be off the ship every day we are at a port.  I like a soda with my lunch and dinner and checked the soda package which is $8.99 a day.  I read where I can bring a 12 pack of soda on the ship which would be perfect...and cheaper...for me.  My question is do I put it in my luggage or do I have to carry it on the ship?  I don't want to carry it on since it is a few hours after we board before we can get into our cabins.  I would be okay bringing an additional small luggage to put the soda in that I would have delivered to my cabin.  Anyone have experience with this who can let me know how to do this?

  7. In April a friend & I were sailing out of Port Liberty, NJ.  Our time was 11:30.  We have an almost 2 hour drive and got there around 11:00.  We didn't see a sign for our time only one for 11:00 so I got at the end of the line and my friend went up front to ask where we needed to go.  Then she waved me up there and we were both told to go in.  I thought that was strange that we weren't told to go to the end of the line.

  8. Maybe dine in the Windjammer.  My husband & I did that on one of our cruises just to give it a try.  It was fine and maybe as a solo traveler that doesn't want to sit with strangers, this might be a good thing for you to do.  It was fun when the WJ opened, the wait staff cheered us on as we entered.

  9. Ok this is a question that I should know the answer to but sadly, I don't.  🤪  Are the cabin doors on Oasis metal?  I'm asking because I'm sailing with a friend who will have a birthday while we are on the ship so I wanted to get a "Happy Birthday" sign for the door but I can't remember if they are metal...I think they are but not 100% positive.  If it is, then I can get a magnetic sign.  Thanks!

  10. Its been so long since I've cruised because of the pandemic that I can't remember this?  Leaving on the Anthem tomorrow and I can't remember if there are toiletries or do I need to bring my own.  I feel like I'm remembering that they had shampoo, conditioner and body wash hanging in the shower but I'm not positive about that.  Anyone on here recently sail the Anthem that can answer this question.  We have a balcony cabin if that makes a difference.  Thanks!

I believe it is one device per person? I know that when my husband and I were onboard in January, we each had access to the wifi on our phones. When I have sailed solo, I set my phone up to serve as a wirelesss hotspot and connected my laptop through your phone.

Also, I was exclusively an NCL cruiser pre-COVID and I have been on five Celebrity sailings since the restart. Not having to pay gratuities on the drink package is a HUGE perk. I know you said you aren't a big drinker, but the cost to upgrade to the Premium drink package on Celebrity is only $12 more per day, whereas I was paying $20 per day in gratuities for NCL's basic drink package. So for less than I was paying for basic drinks on NCL, I can drink pretty much anything on the ship!

  12. It has been years since I have cruised on Celebrity.  My husband and I have been exclusively cruising on Royal Caribbean and achieved Diamond status which I believe would be Elite on Celebrity.  Sadly, my husband passed away last year and a friend and I are contemplating giving Celebrity a try.  We are looking at the Summit because we liked the itinerary and it leaves from our home state of NJ.  I see on their website that drinks, WiFi and tips are included.  Is there a limit on the number of drinks?  We aren't crazy drinkers but enjoy them by the pool, shows and in the lounges.  Also, what drinks are included?  Anyone have any input on the Summit?  We love RCCL's large ships...Oasis class and Anthem...but are ok with a smaller ship.

  13. You can.  I haven't had my second booster yet but I had my first too vaccines and my first booster which had to be put on a second card.  When I uploaded the first card, it asked if it didn't all fit and if I needed to take another picture which I did so both cards were on there.

  14. I do already have a Captain's Club membership.  Not sure how many points I have because it has been a long time since I have sailed Celebrity.  I was looking at the Summit sailing out of NJ going to Bermuda & Charleston.  Is it true that drinks are included?  Is there a limit...not that I'm a big drinker just wondering if there is a limit.

Thanks to all who have given me feedback.  I really appreciate it.

As mentioned earlier, you will have Elite status in Celebrity Captains Club, but it is not automatic; you will have to get a Celebrity loyalty number. From the Celebrity web site ...

if you are a Crown & Anchor member but not a Captain's Club member and plan on sailing with Celebrity Cruises®, please call the Captain’s Club at 1-844-418-6824 to enroll in the equivalent tier.

Also, please remember to provide your membership number when booking a Celebrity cruise to ensure you receive your Club Points and benefits while sailing.

The benefits of Elite status are described on Celebrity web site. With many cruises providing the "Always Included" packages, you may or may not find any added value in the program. This topic has been discussed on this board many times, so I will leave it at that. 🤐
