  1. No sun today unfortunately, we are like drowned rats... Still great fun though. Andy
  2. It's absolutely chucking it down at the minute and very overcast, so let's hope it clears up a bit. Andy
  3. Not impossible but less likely. With more newer cruisers unsure of what to expect, the demand for tables for 2 is increasing. The tables for 2 are a bit pointless really and you are often just a few inches away from the next table, so feel a bit obliged to at least be polite. Embrace it if you have to, most of your fellow passengers will be lovely people and great company. Andy
  4. Thank you Graham & Pauline. We managed to book the Epicurean for tonight, Wednesday and Thursday, so if we see Ryan & Carmella, we will send your regards. We had dinner in the Glasshouse last night, that was amazing. The service, food and atmosphere was second to none. In Olden today, just docking, then off to Birksdall Glacier. Andy
  5. We will come and find you Dai, but have been quite enjoying playing our own version of 'wheres Wally' called, 'do you think that's Dai' every time we see a scooter๐Ÿ˜‚ You have been everything from teenage boys to old ladies๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Andy
  6. Glad it made you smile. I posted it again recently on the buffet hygiene thread, from what we saw yesterday, we should all be wearing them in the buffet.. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Andy
  7. Yep, need to drum up some business ๐Ÿ˜‚
  8. Of course๐Ÿ˜‚ They all want to know how many cruises we have done and that other lines are far superior to P&O๐Ÿ˜‚ Andy
  9. Just under 3,900 passengers on board, of which nearly 2,500 are new cruisers, with 1300 crew. The Captains welcome party has returned to the atrium and was well attended by passengers dressed to impress. Andy
  10. You just cannot tell with the weather in Norway, we got off in beautiful sunshine, got soaked in a shower, now back in sunshine, all within an hour... The kids are not a major problem for us, just lots of them. Gets a bit noisy in some areas but easily avoided. As for a good walk, you have very little option on Britannia due to the layout, we are doing around 15,000 steps a day. There is no proper promenade deck, but you can get a bit of a circuit going on the sports decks up top if needed. Have a great time, it is a lovely ship. Andy & Michelle
  11. After a great first day when the entrance was manned and everybody washed their hands, by the second day, nobody telling you to wash your hands, so nobody did... It genuinely felt like we were the only ones to wash our hands... Also, despite the very big, clear signage, lots of people were filling water bottles from the dispenser... Andy
  12. Just docked in Stavangar, despite weather reports, sun is shining. All going well, a few annoyances, mainly with the mdr, that we are hoping iron themselves out, but on the whole, the good outweighs the bad. Andy
  13. It's Michelles birthday on Wednesday, so wanted to book the Epicurean and some spa bits, so all sorted easily. It's quite busy now, seems to be a disproportionate amount of children, considering it's not school holidays? Finding the app handy so far, the calendar is really useful. Just sitting in the atrium people watching, our favourite passtime. Andy
  14. After a few more Morettis, I will be hugging everyone... ๐Ÿ˜‚ Andy
  15. We were happy to come back at our allotted time, but as there was no queue, just thought we would ask and they waved us straight through. I think we just hit it lucky as the queue started to build up behind us. Check in was an absolute breeze. Connecting to the app was very easy and all the bookings we wanted to make were available. So far so good. Staff are smiley and helpful, even the buffet was good, with a chap telling you to wash your hands and ensuring you did. In the Crow's Nest now with a pint of Moretti. Andy & Michelle xx Oh, we have soap... ๐Ÿ˜‚
  16. BLIMEY, arrived to drop off bags early at 1.10, in the Glasshouse at 1.30.. Andy
  17. So excited, car is loaded, off to the port soon to drop the bags off before wandering across to Oxford Street for some lunch before boarding at 3.15. I won't write a blog as people more eloquent than me have done some recently, but I will share our experiences of things that have caused us a bit of concern. We feel very prepared, thanks to you lot, hence not trying to board early etc. We haven't been able to book any speciality restaurants except Limelight, so hope with a late boarding, all the spaces haven't been snaffled up by the priority boarders and coach passengers etc. I will report back. Anything anybody wants me to find out while on board, please ask and I will go into full Columbo mode... Andy
  18. Glad you had a good time Gill, thank you for reporting back. Andy
  19. Thank you for reporting back. The people who responded to your original question (and us) will be really pleased you had a great time. This forum loves to help and follow journeys, but not enough return to let us know how it went. As for the couple in the Limelight, well, at least they are becoming a minority... Andy
  20. Or didn't smoke 40 Woodbine a day, drink stout and eat dripping๐Ÿ˜‚ Andy
  21. Wish me luck, I'm ready for the buffet tomorrow... Andy
  22. Oh bless you Jane, thank you. It's been a long time coming, It's taken us a while to get the confidence back to go out much, let alone cruise. We are so looking forward to it. Andy & Michelle xx
