We are new to RCI- we have two cruises booked- a 4 day out of Galveston in late August and a 5 day in early December.  Normally we have not bought the drink package when cruising- (Carnival)- mostly because we just don't drink enough-- however RCI has it on sale for 66.00 per day per person- and it seems like if you have more than 5 drinks this is a better deal.  Just wondering what the total package cost with tax and gratuities.  Also I am assuming on a 4 day cruise the drink package doesn't start until the first day out of Galveston? So it would be a 3 day package, correct?

It starts the first day you get on the ship. However, if you get it, any cabin mate over 21 must get the package as well.

I just priced renting a car for just 2 days before our cruise.  It was $110.00 for each day.  We will just plan on taking Uber or a shuttle.

Yes, unfortunately it was the same price but we would have had to rent the car for the entire cruise and park it while we were on the ship. They did not have any one way rentals. Galveston Express' last shuttle is 8pm, but they start back up in the morning. That is not an option for us, but may be for you. I am waiting to hear back with a quote from Island Breeze Shuttle, they are looking pretty good from what I saw online. They do run after after and charge a $50 service charge after 8:01 pm and 6:59 am for a private vehicle. That is fine with me, I prefer that late at night.

Hack.. It was cheapest for us to rent a car one-way from Enterprise. Pickup at Hobby, Drop-off at Galveston the next day. Took short (3.5 mile) Uber from Enterprise facility to pier. Enterprise even offered to give us a ride, but we didn't want to wait.

Same concept on the return. We had Uber to take us to the Enterprise place in Galveston where we picked up a one-way rental.

The total for two cars + gas was way less than any shuttle or Uber/Lyft round trip. And the added benefit of having a vehicle to run up to Wal-Mart the day before was nice!

However, they do close at 10pm at the AP, but you may be able to pickup after hours (you will need to confirm)

@robmtx this is the dil of DELTABLUE,

Thanks for the info, unfortunately, there are no one way rentals available. We would have to rent it for the full cruise and then pay parking on top if that.

  4. You can do either, but you only have 30 days after booking to redeem your rewards for the cruise. We found out the 10% was only valid on a cruise that traveled in 2018. We are leaving April 2019 so we were not eligible for the 10% off. As for the OBC, we weren't eligible either bc my husband got a $100 credit from the ships casino off our cruise. I asked if I could get it bc I didn't have any casino credit and they said no only one casino reward per trip, but if we both did a MyVegas one it would have worked. You just cant combine different casino rewards.

  5. Call club royale and ask since they are the ones who actually redeem these for you. The number is 1-888-561-2234. They will know all of the details for the obc and the 10% discount. I do know that you can't use the discount and obc from myvegas together. You can only use one or the other but beyond that I'm not sure what the restrictions are.

My husband and I both have MyVegas accounts. He was going to use the 10% off and I was going to get the OBC.

  6. HI All,

I read on another MyVegas post on the discussion board that OBC is not valid with Next Cruise. We booked an upcoming cruise in 2019 on Friday afternoon. My question is.... Has anyone booked through Next Cruise and been able to still use the OBC without losing any of the OBC you received from booking? Basically we got $175 OBC by booking during the cruise through Next Cruise. An additional $100 would be nice but definitely not worth losing the $175 we already have. We were also thinking of using the 10% off reward but again do not want to lose anything we already have. There is a line on our paperwork that you could lose any promotions by changing reservation details blah blah blah

This is the info I read. I realize and know the post is from 2014, just wondering if the info is still the same

  7. Hello All,

We just booked through Next Cruise a few days ago before we got off the ship. I saw in a post at the beginning from 2014 that the MyVegas OBC is not available if you book through Next Cruise. Does anyone know if the 10% discount is available?

Here is the post I am referring to:
