It was our concern as well. We cancelled a July 2021 cruise this past Jan as we did not think it would go, so we re-booked a very similar cruise for Aug 2022. Allowing things to settle. The July 2021 cruise was officially canclled just before Memorial Day and today, the Aug 2022 cruise has already doubled in price. Prices continue to up, up, & up. I see no let down for some time going forward.

in my humble opinion prices will go up, the price for oil has reached $ 70.00 per barrel already and lot's of people are waiting to book until they know what the mandates are going to be. I am booked on a Costa Cruise where the small print reads that if the price of oil reaches $ 70.00 per barrel the price will go up. So I am sitting here waiting to see how much more my good deal will end up costing me.

I am a total looser when it comes to IT. Since my son lives in the same Building as I and works for IT I just have not kept up with anything and when I have a problem it is so easy to let him fix it. Now going on a world cruise I have some things to consider and need your assistance. Ships now have apps to see the daily activities so how is that going to work. Is that going to eat up data? I will have to go and buy a new chip for my phone because my small island provider doesn't provide world wide service. I will be sailing out of Venice, Italy what chip do I need to pick up in Venice best suitable for our needs. Also what app to install? That is from one of the app-sites:

"Frequent cruisers know that one of the first orders of business after you click “book” is to launch the app for your specific cruise line. Each app is different, of course, but they feature a lot of commonalities. For starters, you can book excursions, reservations, and other services directly on the app, as well as contact customer service. You can also peruse restaurant menus to decide where to fill up your plate, and check your account balance so you know what you owe on that round of margaritas from last night. Plus, most apps aim to solve the conundrum of communicating with friends and family members while onboard by installing a built-in messaging tool that doesn’t require data or Wi-Fi."

I urgently need your help. I am currently using an IPhone. Thanks.

  4. Cruise Companies like Royal Caribbean issuing letter's now that passengers have to be fully vaccinated to sail. Royal Caribbean currently is age 16 and over and will change by August to 12 and over since children over 12 can now be vaccinated. Children age 2 and up to vaccination age will need tests. Have not found anything like that on Costa yet, if it is there can somebody please provide a link. Thanks.

Would it not better to exclude them from booking in the first place rather having to go through the song and dance of having to issue refunds?

I wrote to Costa and asked them whether that might change and whether they would refund my deposit since they actually have cancelled my reservation with that or apply my deposit to my reservation for 2023. I got no real response only my original confirmation stating that there is no refund if I cancel. That e-mail came from a no-reply e-mail account. So just hanging in there for now. The joke is that I have booked on the US-Costa-Website. The US is supposed to open cruising in June again, so this ban must be from Costa, but when you open the attachment it reads Carnival.

  6. I was sharing it for persons who have bookings for summer to check on the regulations and not pay up and have an unpleasant surprise. I know how often we don't look at the small print, and this attachment is small print, you actually have to download it to be able to read it.

  7. It is the 2022 World cruise from Venice, Italy. The attachment to my new confirmation reads: Carnival Cruises according to John Hopkins University of Medicine  Guests not allowed to embark/perform cruise if, in the last 14 days, have been in or transited through one of the following countries:

  8. My cruise is only in January 2022 but this had been included in my new confirmation and I just assume and hope that the list will have changed before January 2022. So I just keep on hoping for now but looking at this list that cruise will never happen anyhow.

  9. Just received another e-mail confirmation. This is the list of passengers from countries not permitted to board:

/CountryAfghanistan Albania Algeria Angola Anguilla Antigua_and_Barbuda Argentina Armenia Aruba Australia Azerbaijan Bahamas Bahrain Bangladesh Barbados Belarus Belize Benin Bermuda Bhutan Bolivia Bonaire, Saint Eustatius and Saba Bosnia_and_Herzegovina Botswana Brazil British_Virgin_Islands Brunei_Darussalam Burkina_Faso Burundi Country Cambodia Cameroon Canada Cape_Verde Cases_on_an_international_conveyance_Japan Cayman_Islands Central_African_Republic Chad Chile China Colombia Comoros Congo Costa_Rica Cote_dIvoire Cuba Curaçao Democratic_Republic_of_the_Congo Djibouti Dominica Dominican_Republic Ecuador Egypt El_Salvador Equatorial_Guinea Eritrea Eswatini Ethiopia Falkland_Islands_ (Malvinas )Fiji French_PolynesiaCountryGabon Gambia  Georgia Ghana Grenada Guam Guatemala Guernsey Guinea Guinea_Bissau Haiti Honduras India Indonesia Iran Iraq Israel Jamaica Japan Jersey Jordan Kazakhstan Kenya Kosovo Kuwait KyrgyzstanCountry Laos Lebanon Lesotho Liberia Libya Madagascar Malawi Malaysia Maldives Mali Marshall_Islands Mauritania Mauritius Mexico Moldova Mongolia Montenegro Montserrat Morocco Mozambique Myanmar Namibia Nepal New_Caledonia New_Zealand Nicaragua Niger Nigeria North_Macedonia Northern_Mariana_Islands OmanCountryPakistan Palestine Panama Papua_New_Guinea Paraguay Peru Philippines Puerto_Rico Qatar Russia Rwanda Saint_Kitts_and_Nevis Saint_Lucia Saint_Vincent_and_the_Grenadines Sao_Tome_and_Principe Saudi_Arabia Senegal Serbia Seychelles Sierra_Leone Singapore Sint_Maarten Solomon_Islands Somalia South_Africa South_Korea South_Sudan Sri_Lanka Sudan Suriname SyriaCountryTaiwan Tajikistan Thailand Timor_Leste Togo Trinidad_and_Tobago Tunisia Turkey Turks_and_Caicos_islands Uganda Ukraine United Arab Emirates United KingdomUnited Kingdom / GibraltarUnited Kingdom / Isle of Man United_Republic_of_Tanzania United_States_of_America United_States_Virgin_Islands Uruguay Uzbekistan Vanuatu Venezuela Vietnam Wallis_and_Futuna Western_Sahara Yemen  ZambiaZimbabwe

EN: Guests not allowed to embark/perform cruise if, in the last 14 days, have been in or transited through one of the following countries.

The USA, Canada are on that list, so is my country British Virgin Islands and we have performed way better then Italy or any other European Country during this Pandemic. Data is collected by John Hopkins University of Medicine for Carnival. So does Carnival or any other of their companies also exclude these countries from boarding?

  10. As it looks other cruise companies like HAL and Princess have similar itineraries like Costa and Costa's website it still under construction but the others do already have excursions up. As worrying the Covid Situation is, a lot of people including me will stay positive. 8 month is a long time. And no matter what entertainment is offered on a cruise, it is not Broadway anyhow 🙂 🙂 🙂 so I am not concerned about it. Maybe I start exercising more lol, bring some educational kindle-books besides my usual one's. Lot's of options.

Not allowing bookings on excursions, yet. Port calls will no doubt change before you board.

Yes, it is disappointing and you are correct ports will change. But there is light at the end of the tunnel now, even I am still worried that the cruise in January will be cancelled.

  12. Since Venice is not permitting cruise ships any longer, has anybody been informed what port Costa is using instead of Venice. Apparently Royal Caribbean is using Porto Corsini according confirmations I have received. I have not heard from Costa Cruises yet for cruise booked on Costa Deliziosa

Which ship are you sailing ? My SIL was looking for a cruise out of Venice but didn't find anything on Princess.

I just checked Princess to find out what port they are leaving from and all I can find in Italy is Rome. So you might get a change of Itinerary. So if you have your flights to Venice already plan for your friends and yourself 2 days in Venice and then your best bet will probably be taking a train to Rome.

  14. I am wondering about Venice as Cruise port. I assume the pre-cruise program might be in Venice and then you will be transported to whatever Port Princess will depart from. Cruise ships are not allowed in Venice any longer. Royal Caribbean embarks at Porto Corsini by Ravenna instead of Venice and as it looks Costa might embark in Trieste. Have not checked on Princess yet. Check Tripadvisor from whatever port or nearby city you are going to depart from there might be day tours to Venice, Florence..... at a much better rate then Princess quoted you and being 4 of you, you might even have a private tour. My kids and me have been staying in Italy in various cities and have done day trips from there easily.

  15. had received an e-mail called "Refund Receipt" claiming that we will receive a refund for 2 of the tickets, when I messaged them on their facebook page they promised we will receive refund within 3 months, The 3 month are over still nothing and the refund for the 3rd ticket has not been addressed at all.

I'm politely suggesting you think more about this.  Is the cost savings worth the inconvenience?  The whole family has to manage luggage to and on the train in Venice, off the train in Ferrara, on the train in Ferrara,  off the train in Ravenna, into the car in Ravenna, out of the car in Ravenna.

If the cost is anywhere near $44 per person I recommend you get a car transfer directly from your hotel in Venice, since the cost I calculated in my post above for 6 people was $88 per person roundtrip Venice-Ravenna.

who you are arranging the transfer with, this looks interesting to us also for next year July (party of 3) and what will be the transfer from Marco Polo to Venice?
