Charles I have been hearing horrible things about ATD on Coral. If you hear anything (negative or positive) over the next week or so, can you post on here for me? Thanks

I will love following along with you on the first 28 days. Can't wait to board on Oct 18th. Have fun and keep those updates coming.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

I don't have a colour printer, (I don't think anyway) Can our luggage tags be black and white?

Thanks everyone. We will have a great cruise and I'll try to post while we are away. But I will write a review when we get home for sure.

My DH and I are taking a 32 day cruise next month on Coral from Shanghai to LA. We haven't cruised in 5 years so we are very excited.
I have been doing lots and lots of reading on this website about our ship and also Princess in general. A lot of people seem to complain about the quality of the food, etc etc etc.
I am measuring my cruise a bit differently. Most vacations we book are in the Caribbean and we have been renting condos rather than doing AI for several years. We got tired of the quality of food in the AI range. So now we cook many of our meals to save some money and only eat out 2-3 times per week and never breakfast. The food in restaurants is much better than in any AI. And the AI menus repeat every 7 days.
I am super excited about this cruise and not having to cook or do dishes for over a month. I'm not expecting the food to be amazing but I am very confident it will be delicious (for the most part). I am also happy there will be lots of activities to participate in if I don't feel like reading my book. Plus on top of all that I get to go to several countries and ports I haven't previously been to. The only place we have been to on this itinerary is Hong Kong. So lots of new things to see.
I feel like the price of this cruise is very good when I consider all of the wonderful extras I am getting so if the food disappoints me at all ( I don't think it will) I will certainly be able to live with it.
I hope everyone planning a cruise this winter enjoys themselves and remember Look for the postives!

Great. Thanks

I’ve enjoyed a UBD on a Coral 9’x5’ balcony and even on a Regal 9’x4’ Balcony. :)
Only have the Champagne Balcony Breakfast once but not nearly as enjoyable as a UBD.
So what did they use for a table?
-
I was thinking of the Ultimate DIning but with such a small balcony not sure how well it would work.
-
We have only a small balcony. Are we allowed to order breakfast or dinner to be served on our balcony anyway?

If you want the answer go on TA and ask in the Barbados forum

I believe that Huntes Gardens is very difficult to get to by bus. You should hire a driver. But it is absolutely gorgeous there so totally worth the money.

Any recent Coral pax know which beers they had on tap?
-
Ohhhhh funny got it now

I have never bought liquor in a port as I find I can usualy buy it here for less.
We buy duty free on the ship all the time with no problems. The Grande Monya is cheaper than I can get it anywhere.
What is Grande Monya?

My DH once bought a bottle of rum in port somewhere in the Caribbean (can't remember where). The bottle was taken from him and they told him he would get it back the night before disembarkation. However, the bottle did not show up. When we called they sent up another bottle of rum from their shop. However, it was not the better quality rum he had purchased and he wasn't too pleased.

There is a wooden box at each of the beverage stations in the Horizon buffet full of various flavors of teas, for free. I like
Bigelow Plantation Mint but have trouble finding that so the Twinnings mint tea does the trick. Try the selections, as someone else posted, at the International Café, even at a cost, there is something for everyone. I'm not a coffee drinker.
Thanks. I will definitely try some other teas on board as well as bring some of my own favorites. And I will 'splurge' for some of the Maple Leaf ones too as I have never had that brand.
-
LOL that is very thoughtful of you. But I don't drink nearly that much tea. I will however, pass your suggestion on to my DH and see what his response is. I don't expect he would be running to get me hot water though. LOL
-
You may also want to consider bringing your own shampoo and conditioner. The Princess stuff is heck on my hair. I absolutely would hate to use it for 32 days... That alone would inspire me to bring an extra bag!
Definitely. I have fine hair and need my own products for sure!

OP: if you bring a thermos or any other reusable cup/pot, remember to fill at the water station in one of the provided cups and then pour into your personal cup. Otherwise, you risk transferring germs from yours to the water spout or from the water spout to your personal cup.
There's usually a sign as a reminder and it is usually completely ignored.
So if I use the water station I will pick up germs from others? I think I will skip it. Thanks though. Just gonna go back online and order another 36 bottles of water for us in addition to the 48 I already ordered. My goal is to be extra cautious on this long cruise about where I am eating/drinking and picking up germs.

Nope I'll pack my own favorites. Just saw how much luggage people are packing who are on the full 60 day portion of our cruise so won't feel too bad if we have to take one extra bag.

Sorry to offend Barbara, wanted to know if it was allowed
No offence at all.

Thanks for the tips everyone.

I hope you enjoy your tea AND your cruise!
Thanks! 5 weeks to go for our 32 day on Coral
