Not sure how that would help.  As of last week, Regent did not know who the CD was going to be on our February, 2019 cruise so it would not have been possible to publish or update the information. 

that is just bad planning & poor resource management

the rest is simply the result of false rumors 

no confusion if regent published the information & kept updated

Not 100% sure that we will do the cruise that we are booked on (the more we try other cruise lines, the more we like Regent). It is a west coast departure which is what we are looking for. Unfortunately, if I revealed the cruise line I'd have to spend a year listening to comments that I would rather not hear. I will be reading a lot over the next several months and hope to get as much information as possible. The cruise is not until September, 2019. Prior to the cruise, I will start a thread on the Regent board comparing the two luxury cruise lines.

Anyone on CC can "comment" on any cruise line that they wish. After all, there is enough information on the web (reviews, cruise line website, etc.) to have a very good idea of what to expect. I do not need to sail on Crystal, for instance, to know the size of their suites.

 

I find it interesting that several years ago I was judged because we had only sailed on Regent. Then I sailed on Silversea but the same comments were made. Next year we will sail on the 3rd of 4 luxury cruise lines (only considering the top 4 for U.S. passengers) and will likely hear the same comment. Why the judgments? We have also sailed on Oceania, Celebrity and NCL but still am hearing the same old comments.

 

It is wonderful that we all have choices and no one should be put down for theirs. After all, how many cruise lines must one sail before they are permitted to sail on one cruise line simply because it is the right fit for them? By the same token, it does not matter if someone stays in the top suite or the least expensive suite.

 

As an aside, having just disembarked from a Celebrity cruise yesterday, I could not help but notice how nice the passengers were - not judgmental, pushy, set in their ways, etc. While Celebrity is a one time experience, it opened our eyes as to how some people are on Regent.

 

It seems that on this board, judgements and slams are rampant. That is really too bad and very sad. After all, any of us can cruise any ship/cruise line that we wish and should be able to do so without judgement but rather it would be lovely if all of us posted thoughtful, helpful posts.

We will be on the Explorer to Lisbon and very much looking forward to it. We now have our post cruise European holiday organised and Regent air booking with deviation in hand. The issue for us was how long after the ships arrival could we stay in Europe and remain covered by Regent for our return. Regent will allow return if it is within 30 days of disembarkation with payment of the deviation fee. We were also able to change the departure city from Lisbon to Vienna without any additional charges. Departure from Frankfurt on Lufthansa would have costed us an additional US$960 each.

Yes - what you state is true and is now always written on our Regent invoice. All we really care about is the Veuve Cliquot Champagne (:evilsmile:).

 

One thing that I hesitate to mention is about transportation after the cruise that you become Titanium. Yes - I know what the website says but our TA (one of the top Regent TA's) said that we would not get private transfers until the cruise after the one in which we became Titanium. Because of this, we took a 10 night Alaska cruise which brought us to Titanium level. Then, on the next cruise, we received the private transportation.

 

While I am not stating that this is a "fact", it is what was told to us. To insure the private transfers, we took an extra cruise (as weird as that may sound). So, the cruise where we met you in Bali was the first private transportation that we were suppose to have. As you know, no one showed up in Bali and we took our own transportation to the hotel. As you also know, as part of the "make-up" for missing our private excursion, they transferred us to the dinner on the beach in Bali (because we chose to forego the pre-cruise day in Bali due to the heat and seeing things that we have seen previously).

 

After the cruise, we did have private transportation to the airport in Hong Kong.

 

So, being fairly new to Regent and hearing various stories based on Regent's website, I still do not feel that I understand the whole process.
