No, we don't have any good RCI experiences either, when it comes to this.  When our son was 18 we took a cruise and had the exact experience as you are discussing.  We would see other young adults (that I think were college age) with their parents.  We did let him go on excursions by himself, so he could do something more adventurous.  But on ship he was with us.  As someone else mentioned he and I would go to the casino.

I know this not the place to say this.  When he was 19, we took him on NCL.  They let us sign a consent form to let him have beer and wine.  This let him go into the nightclubs, bar parties, and hang out at the deck parties.  He never got drunk enough that we became aware, and he did meet some others his age that he could hang out with.

I love RCI, and they are our cruise line of choice,  but at that time we benefited from NCL's policy.

Royal used to have a similar beer and wine policy. 18-20 on Royal was no different for me than 21+ it was awesome.

We just did this same cruise last month and found it to be similar to the 7 night . No crazy party cruise. It was great time we had.

The weekend 3 night cruises will see a younger more late night party crowd but still tame compared to some other cruise lines known to be party ships.

A weekday 4 night will not be the same as the 3 night, more like a 7 day experience but shorter.    Family friendly.

That's good to know. We're taking our 4 year old on the Navigator 4 night in February for a family vacation.

here is my question . we are using go port (staying the night before ). go port picks us up and takes us to Port Canaveral. are you saying if they get us to the port at 11:30 and we are 12:30 board, we are going to be turned away? a. we won't have a car (its at the hotel) and b. where would we go?

    help

You're going to wait in the Early/Late arrivals line until it's your turn.

I would have taken the 12 in a heartbeat.  It's easy to make that.  Or whichever was cheaper and direct.

    Well

Our last two cruises out of Port Canaveral my wife and I have been able to take an 8:00 shuttle to the airport.  This was with priority debarkation and checking our luggage.  On our last cruise on the Breeze back in April we were through security and sitting at our Southwest gate at 9:35 a.m.  Our flight was 12:30, which was the earliest one for us at the time.  I probably wouldn't hesitate to do an 11:00 am flight, especially if I could do self assist.

Well now I wish I had one with the earlier and cheaper Delta flight. Oh well.

I am a little over 30 days out and I booked a guarentee balcony because I honestly didn't know what was a good choice!  I called today mainly because I am curious haha.. I was told they had not sold many balconies that was why I had not been assigned yet. And I would know 3 days prior to sailing or whenever they had sold most of the balconies. I don't know if they were just blowing smoke at me or if that is the policy?

Again I don't plan on spending much time in that room so it doesn't matter much to me but I was curious.

I love the guarantee room usually it's a really good deal and you know what you're at least getting for it.
