If you're looking to explore the city first, anywhere is great. We stayed at the QO Amsterdam which was a 10 minute train ride to Central station when we cruised out of Amsterdam in May 2019. Anywhere that is train to Central station accessible is great, since it's a quick walk or cab from the train station to port. If walking from Central to port, remember it's cobblestone type walkways around there, so maneuvering a suitcase is not fun, but doable.
