We have had our first dose of vaccine and have an appointment for the second dose. We also continue following all the guidelines. As you say this has been very hard for many to keep to themselves. Between the variants and Easter weekend, things got out of hand. The number of daily cases with many needing intensive care is putting a strain on our medical system. With this new 28 day lockdown, hopefully we can get this under control,

Congrats on getting your first shot 🙂

I went to the Rite-Aid site and got us scheduled for the next day - we go for #2 on 15 April.  Very well run and well set up.  We were 2 of the 3.4 million to get a jab on that day!

No Rite aid here any more ,I am glad some people get the vaccine easier I really am. I have been sick three weeks in the hospital last month! I can't just show up when they want and I can't stand in line.I am using a rollator hope it is temporary! Boy do I need a cruise 🙂

My friend in Seekonk, MA got hers by calling her town Senior Center.  They scheduled her shot for the next day at Gillette Stadium.  This was three weeks ago, she just got her second one.  If you don't have a senior office to call, try your local Health Department.

Thank you our senior center is closed. Eee gads had to do my own taxes this year, it was scary but I made it through. (Very simple tax return) lol .The last few years our senior center did them.

    Will try my Health Department.

Our family in other states checked the major grocery and pharmacy chains in addition to registering with their hospital.  Niece must drive about an hour over the mountains but snagged an appointment this way.  It is difficult since there is little standardization with the states - we

I uderstand but the news makes it sound like we can get a vaccine at the drop of the hat!

Try calling your local representative.  If you are a senior, your health department should be able to help you.  Where do you live?  It is such a shame that there are so many differences in the availability to get a shot.  I wish this had been a national effort from the very beginning.  I just had a 38 year old friend, vacationing in a rural area, who stopped to pick up a few things in a CVS store and was offered a shot because the locals were not interested in getting one.

Thank you Nashara! Psst I am a senior

Hi to all of my Cruise Critic friends,

At this time I’m not doing well at all. Two of my very good friends husband & wife just died from the virus.
They both got sick at the same time and went to the same hospital and died the same day within hours of each other. I feel awful at this time.

    Stay Safe My Friends,

    Tony

I am so sorry! I was hospitalized three times in the last few months for other illness. I tried to keep a mask on even with oxgen on. No contrary to the news I still cannot get an appointment for a vaccine!

Sorry I’ve been AWOL for so long!

Daughter  gave birth to a healthy 8lb 1oz baby boy last night. (Not bad as she’s only 5ft 2 inches) Both doing well. Natural midwife led birth with no pain relief thank goodness.

We are so relieved and ecstatic that he’s here, as the last 3 weeks have been very difficult for her and we thought there could be problems with his birth.

Thank you all for your patience. Xx

Hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Awe congrats to your family! Glad all is well 🙂

  8. Not speaking to anyone in paticular, but I don't trust the CDC or Fauci. First the masks were going to save us . Then distancing was the key I believe the good Dr said 3 ft is enough now, they back tracked on that also.. Then vaccines,  they don't know  how long these vaccines work for, They have no clue what they are doing. Now we have people coming into the country with covid and just let go to where ever they want. after all the sacrifices we went through to stop covid. I have no faith in any of them. You do what you think is best for you.

Here in Ontario they have done all the long term care home, seniors residence and priority health personnel. Now they are starting to vaccinate people 80 years old and above who live in their own homes (ie not in a residence). They will then vaccinate 75+ and so on reducing by 5 years every time they finish vaccinating a group until they get to the 60+. As Canada has just approved a 3rd vaccine, I hope Ontario will now acelerate its vaccination roll-out.

In the good old USA we are going to vaccinate illegals first ! who knows when my 73 year old husband or myself at 62 fit in. It's ok I will drag my oxgen tank behind when it is my turn!

Virginia is now giving shots to those 65 and older, teachers, essential workers and continuing with health care workers.  13.3 percent of the states population is now vaccinnated and we are finally moving along nicely.  We were able to see our grandaughter last night for the first time in four months as our second shots are now effective. I finally see the possibility that we will get back to normal sooner rather than later.

Well i hope that is the the case but Facuci does not know. If that protects you or not! That's  what I heard out of his mouth this morning!

    It's getting better.

TRAVEL: Princess' West Coast ships are turning green for crew.

FINANCIAL: DS' new job income almost equals his mortgage + child support. Took 1st job offered.  S proudly told me that he managed to pay off 1/2 his student loans while interest was frozen despite working less than 1/2 time. If this keeps up his intention is to have them paid off by September when they can start charging interest again. Then save up to go for his teaching certificate in 2022-2023. DD struggling with her reduced income but quit unemployment.

HEALTH: I put myself back on the vaccine waiting list after turning down last Monday's appointment. 3rd year cancer free

So all in all, life is good!!

So happy to hear am a Thyca survivor! You have every right to be proud of your kids! My son came from nothing but went into the airforce and is now a State Trooper! He paid his own way and paid off his wives student debt! Although Mom showed him the way from nothing . 🙂

I am a therapist in a skilled rehab/nursing facility. Masks and face shields, gowns with quarantine patients (first 2 weeks in building), COVID tests twice a week.  I was happy when we got to back to surgical masks instead of N95!

Worked in long term care for many years. Ended up in rehab recently. What a freakin pit! When I could get up on my walker I checked on neighbors at night when the floor was empty. Would not put a dog there. Don't get me wrong some good people  .Last I knew you did not clean a person with severe psoriasis with wet rolled up TP.  Watch out for your sick loved ones! I do appreciate the therapists I have coming to my home!

    😞
