We book in advance once we have a general idea what we are doing. Our TA encourages us to book advance since we usually book Princess Grill and those cabins are limited especially on the QM2. If prices drop, our TA re-books us at the lower price. And we get travel insurance because we are old and have a very old mother/mother-in-law.
We do the same. We have an excellent Cunard TA. We booked an Alaskan cruise more than a year ago. About six months ago a promotion came up that gave us an cabin upgrade, drink package, gratuities and a OBC for the same price. You can get any promotion up until your final payment which is due 3 months before sailing.

We're booked on the luxury car June 6th. Really looking forward to it.

I finally went to my Cunard travel advisor and she booked my excursions. We're on an Alaskan cruise and there are excursions that have only 14 seats. She worked through all the problem in the new platform and got our excursions in mid June 2020. I don't know how she did it, but she did it.
If anyone is looking for a Cunard travel advisor who will work hard for what you want, call her. Sharleen Gordon (local 41666 in the California office). She's the hardest working advisor we've ever had.

I thought the same thing when I first signed in.🤣

Just got an email from Cunard announcing the new "My Cunard ". Logged in and all the shortcomings listed above are still there.
Terrible job Cunard!

Great news! The my.cunard/My.cruise is up and running. There is lots not working yet but it only took once to log in. None of my tier information in my world club is there. My emergency contact information is not there yet as well.
It's real rough but there.

Voyage Personalizer. It's your online cruise organizer. Once you have your booking number, you go to the website and fill in your forms and print your tickets and more.

Thanks again for all the help.
I can get in every time now by clearing my cache. The P&O site seems to be placing cookies into the "Policy Agreement" link. I've deleted all caches and saved a clean bookmark. I'm not a techie but Cunard has forced me into the world of bits and bytes at this late stage of my life!!!!!!

Does Cunard monitor this board? It would be nice to hear from them on this topic. Are they creating a new "My Cunard " and what kind of update can they supply? This is causing undue stress on clients who are planning their cruises!

Thanks to everyone for your quick response. I got rid of all my cookies and was able to get into the site. There was a P&O cruise page blocking the login. It's great to hear that there will soon be a new site. RCCL's site and onboard app is so far ahead of Cunard.

I've been trying to log into my VP account for several days now and it says they are having technical issues. Is there anyone else having the same problem? It's getting close to the time for booking excursions for our upcoming Alaskan cruise and I need to be checking it daily.

Thanks Bklynboy8. We'll keep checking daily.

Thanks very much for looking that up. We look forward to reading your review. There are very few Alaskan reviews. I guess this is only the second or third year for Cunard in Alaska.
-
Thank you, we have found that some excursions with limited seats go very fast. So, how does one get them before they go. I guess I can go to the VP every day.

We are on the 2nd of June Alaskan cruise aboard the QE. There are no excursions available and there is no indication when they will be available. It is eight months away and am I looking too soon?

Attila is in PG. He is fantastic! I heard he might have moved.

There seems to be an unfortunate large amount of medical evacuations on the QM2. We sailed a westbound TA in June and had to divert to Halifax. A helicopter evaluation was not possible due to fog. The Capitan tried to make up time but wind and fog delayed us by nearly 5 hours. I phoned our insurance company to see what I could do if we missed our flight. I was told that medical emergencies was not one of the covered reasons for delay. Luckily, Cunard gave us a letter saying wind and fog prevented the QM2 from making up the time. Weather, along with mechanical problems and traffic accidents, were covered.
We made our flight by minutes! If we hadn't, we might have faced several days in a New York hotel at our cost.

Attila is gone! That was the best part of QM's PG!
He added so much to the atmosphere of the place.

On a TA in June we were in PG and water was always replaced at no charge. We did have the drink package, but I don't think it was because of that. Our detailed daily bill printout didn't show a charge for water. Happy Anniversary and enjoy. The staff in the lounge and dinning room are fantastic. They will help to make your special occasion special!
