  1. I have just done this on Encore in the past couple of weeks . As has already been said, go and ask at the square. They convert what you have paid for your trips into “refundable” OBC.  I would also add that you don’t need to go to the square to check your account - mine was all correct on the Source App at all times during the cruise

  2. We use it in the mornings to order coffee from Seabourn Square and then just go and pick it up (when I say “we” , of course I mean “my husband” while I wait in bed for his return with my coffee ! 😂

it is useful to connect to the internet, to check dining options (menus) when we are maybe by the pool and haven’t got the paper Herald with us. I have also booked an excursion using the app while on board and it has your itinerary (excursions, spa, TK booking etc).

Not sure why an interconnecting cabin is a negative.  We have had them on other ships and never gave them a thought.  After all, the door between them is locked.

Something positive about Sihanoukville, and Cambodia.  We were on the Westerdam in 2020 when it was sailing aimlessly between the Philippines and Thailand and no country would allow us to land our passengers.  Thailand actually sent a Navy destroyer to escort us away from their country after they had previously given us landing permission.  Only Cambodia would welcome us.  When we landed in Sihanoukville, their leader landed on the pier in his helo gave us all a ceremonial scarf.  We eventually flew to Phnom Penh to await flights home.  While there is not a lot for tourists in Sihanoukville, the country does welcome tourists.

Out of interest, where is the interconnecting door in the suite? We have one on an upcoming cruise and I was wondering if it would be an issue. I can’t picture where it is. Thanks

  4. Same with us - unable to book TK for March 24 or March 25 cruises. Same message “unavailable, try later”. For the March 24 cruise there do seem to be a lot of excursions which are bookable. Our TA enquired with Seabourn who just told her that they cannot say when this will be available. Not very helpful!

maybe they are changing the rules for TK bookings?

  5. A “Mindful Living” kayaking tour we took in the Norwegian fjords included stopping in a secluded area to stay still and meditate for 5 minutes. It was actually a lovely addition - the water was clear, there was no sound, the air fresh. I don’t recall that we paid any more for it.

Ok, so after reading this thread, I checked my reservation on-line and yes, indeed, my Keller reservation for dinner was missing from my itinerary.  This had me worried and just one more thing to check on.  I was ready to call Seabourn but decided, why not download the Seabourn app on my phone and check it there.  I downloaded the app and viewed my itinerary on the app and lo and behold!, the Keller reservation is there!  I took a screen shot of the reservation (just in case).  I would suggest downloading the Seabourn Source app onto your phone.  My hubby and I took our "photo" for the boarding process within the app for our upcoming cruise.  The app may not have a lot of bells and whistles but at least it saved me from fretting over my dinner reservations.. one less thing to worry about.

You’re correct … I checked Source App and now I have two reservations on the same night - oh dear ……

  7. Thanks for alerting us to this - I checked my itinerary (Encore June 2023) and my TK booking wasn’t there. It let me make a booking for the same day 15 mins earlier than the previous booking so the original one must have been completely deleted or it wouldn’t have let me make another!
unless they sort this out there is going to be a lot of chaos in Seabourn Square on embarkation days - or at TK when people turn up for a booking which doesn’t exist !!

  8. I am not surprised they have changed from Saline Bay, Mayreau, we have been on two Seabourn Caribbean cruises with this port advertised both times as a Caviar in the surf beach day but both times were cancelled due to choppy seas. While talking to the other guests we only found one who had ever experienced Saline Bay and that was some years ago. Most said it was usually cancelled. It’s better to have an achievable promise than to over promise and underdeliver.

What does the Marina day consist of?

In our case the ship was not allowed to visit an island due to Covid (it was in January when rules were tight) so the island authorities allowed the Captain to anchor a little way out. The Marina at the back of the ship was opened for a few hours ( I think 3 hours) and you could sign up for the activities - small sailboats you could take out on your own, the banana and couch floats being pulled at speed, paddle boards etc . It was great fun !

  10. We have been on two Seabourn Caribbean cruises, one pre-pandemic and the other this year January 2022. Both advertised that there would be a beach day at Saline Bay but on both occasions the sea was too rough to tender and it was cancelled at the last minute. Talking to others on the cruise who had done the same cruise many times it seems Saline Bay is called off more times than it’s on. You may be lucky! We did have a Marina day instead this year which was great!
Seabourn may need to rethink this location

  11. We booked our first Seabourn cruise with a Travel Agent (in UK) and got no OBC or any additional benefit. Seabourn then sent us an email and allocated us a Cruise Consultant in Seattle who we have booked directly with ever since. (4 more). Despite the time difference he will phone me whenever I ask via email and can find out questions about Flight Ease, the best deals available, excursions and any other questions I might have.

im not sure if TAs work a bit differently in the U.K. compared to USA or Canada but I’ve regularly checked some of the main cruise TAs over here and have never found them offering a better deal than we have got by booking direct

  12. I agree with frantic36, in the UK we don’t have a tipping culture either so it’s not at all strange. It’s one of the reasons we choose Seabourn because there is no requirement to tip. I have been at guest services when a guest has asked how to tip their room steward and the receptionist has replied that tipping is not expected or required.

I know if you’re from the US or Canada it seems wrong not to tip because that’s your culture but it’s better to contribute to the crew fund.
Why should only your server benefit when it’s the chef who prepared the fabulous food (for example) ?

  13. Just saw this on the Seabourn website - hope it helps

When will guests be assigned their check-in times for arriving at the pier?
Assigned check-in times will be processed initially at approximately 50 days prior to sailing. Updates will be processed again at 21, 14, 7 and 3 days prior to sailing. If the time shows "To Be Assigned" it will be assigned with the next update processed for the sailing based on the above cadence of assignments.

  14. Having already been to Barbados ( so we don’t feel we are missing seeing the island) we have decided to change our flight to arrive the same day as the cruise so we can head straight to the ship on arrival. We will hope that no bad weather or other calamity delays our flight.

Post cruise we fly out at 9pm so we hope that Seabourn can either arrange a day excursion  or day room at a hotel - still to be arranged

  15. I find that if I go through “booked guests” and then “ account” either nothing happens or the whole thing freezes.

if I choose the “flight ease” option and select “ book flight” I can log in and view everything - all the itinerary, excursion options etc (you don’t have to book a flight) so I always do that now.
    I am using Safari

    very strange!

  16. Thank you cruiseej- really helpful information that you can leave the hotel for the port if results aren’t back, I hadn’t picked that up from other sources.

So maybe we will go a day or two ahead after all.
we have stayed at 2 different hotels on previous visits (Crystal Cove and Accra Beach) and both were disappointing but then I am comparing them to the Odyssey!!

  17. We have booked the Barbados cruise in January. I know entry rules and testing procedures may well change before then but I’m undecided whether to arrive the day before or on the day of sailing.

Day before - gives leeway in case of bad weather delaying the flight (from UK) and this is what we would usually do,  but I have been reading on Trip Advisor that Barbados is now struggling to process test results within 24 hours due to an increase in flights so are we risking not being cleared to leave the hotel for the ship? With Dec/Jan being peak times I’m thinking this could get worse
Day of sailing - no test at the airport is required so you can go straight to the ship from the airport

assuming current rules carry on, what would you do?

  18. We will be on the same cruise and I had a slight panic when I read your post. I  have also emailed our contact at Seabourn after reading that the floating market in the Mekong will be closed as I really wanted to see that. I’ll let you know what they say.

Trip Advisor has a few threads with some positive comments from people saying that HCM is a good place to visit during Tet

hopefully someone else will be able to help.....

Are there no house wines offered at TK Grill?  Or only the up-sales as shown on this menu?

House wines are available at all dining venues including TK. No effort to up sell was ever made by any staff to us - we always love the choice of house wines so wouldn’t buy anyway. You can get a list of all the house wines and choose any of them at any venue including in your suite bar.
