Silver Endeavour Passenger Limits for Antarctica?
number one eagles fan replied to number one eagles fan's topic in Silversea
On our October 31st sailing we had about 170 passengers. I do believe that they limit the passenger capacity to 200 in Antarctica to manage landing limits. It was the most magical trip. -
Santiago to Puerto Williams Charter Flight
number one eagles fan replied to machotspur's topic in Silversea
I had never heard the expression "on tenterhooks" but I do enjoy learning about different expressions and sayings. That's one of the great things about cruising...meeting people from around the world and learning about their homeland and customs. We have started the final countdown and are looking forward to meeting you. Heather and Fred Atlanta, Georgia...but originally New Jersey -
So we set sail on October 31st on the Silver Endeavour to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia Islands, and Antarctica. In researching landing rules and regulations for South Georgia it states that vessels with more than 200 passengers are restricted to a much shorter list of landing sites. It specifically states actual number of passengers and not passenger capacity. So with the Endeavour's addition of cabins and new passenger capacity of 220 will they actually sail to Antarctica with 220 guests or will they limit it to 200? It may sound trivial but the number of landing sites is 6 for ships with more than 200 passengers versus 48 potential landing sites for ships carrying 200 or less passengers. Fingers crossed for the answer I'm hoping for.🤞

Antarctica cruises starting in Puerto Williams

Great information for our October Endeavour cruise. Thanks! -
I know this post of yours is two years old but I'm trying to determine if SS will allow a deviation at the end of my cruise in Lisbon for 1 or 2 weeks. What was your experience in managing a deviation? Thank you!
-
Jumping on this thread because I haven't had much response to my thread... Since many of you are seasoned SS cruisers I thought I might ask here. I am hoping to do a "deviation" at the end of my cruise (Lisbon). I am hoping to travel Europe for a couple of weeks and fly home from another major European airport, likely Milan or Rome. Will SS allow a deviation like that? Flying home 2 weeks later and from another airport? If I book the flights myself SS is only offering a $350 credit pp. The cruise is listed as D2D only and I think the "non used air credit" is rediculous. The flights that are included in the D2D are Atlanta to Barbados and then return to Atlanta from Lisbon...certainly worth more than $350. Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately they are only giving us a $350 "Non-Used Air Credit" if we book it that way. The flights that are included in the D2D are Atlanta to Barbados...and then Lisbon to Atlanta. I am hoping I can get a "deviation flight" on the return flight so I can spend some time in Europe. I am hoping someone reading this has had experience with booking "deviation flights" and could share how well it worked or what its limitations were. Thanks for your help.

So we are looking to extend our vacation after we disembark our cruise in Lisbon. The current sailing is ONLY showing a Door-to-Door price. So the question is can we extend our vacation, tour Europe for a couple of weeks on our own, and then fly home from another European airport? Will SilverSky work with us? I know there is a deviation fee. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the wonderful reporting. We'll be onboard mid-August for a similar cruise. Do you know if Bruno, the cruise director, is onboard...and for how long? Also is Marybeth still tending bar in the Dolce Vita? I hope she will be there in August as well. I am so excited to follow your postings on this cruise. Enjoy every minute!

I just checked the roll call page and it's not listed...yet. I'll keep checking. Really looking to chatting with you. Heather

Wonderful Copenhagen 2023
number one eagles fan replied to Danish viking's topic in Northern Europe & Baltic Sea
24 hours in Copenhagen. So my sister and I will have only 24 hours in Copenhagen prior to our cruise. What would be the best area/hotel to stay to be in good proximity to some of the city's highlights? We are not kids so extensive walking is not an option but it would be nice to have one or two options for visiting from our hotel. Thanks! -
I really hope they fix this. It would be a shame if they were not working and it limited our enjoyment out on the decks.
