  1. You don’t need a coupon, just go to the back where they have a “cash register “.

Just ask for it, they might want to sell you stuff, if you are interested let them show you things,

We actually had a blast in St Thomas, tried on lots of stuff I would never buy, it was fun to have tens of thousands of jewelry on.

Thanks for the info.  I just checked princess.com, and it looks like they pushed up the install/activation of MedallionNet to 12/3/2019.  Hopefully that will solve the connectivity issues.

We were on a Medallion cruise last Nov just after it rolled out on I think the Caribbean Princess.  There were still LOTS of problems, especially for those with MINS, they kept loosing them.  Expect there will be growing pains when they first bring it online on the ship.  Hopefully they have learnt from all the ships they have done so far.

What am I missing?  Why not just bring a reusable water bottle and just fill it up on board?  Is there something wrong with the water out of the taps?

I do bring a refillable bottle, but I had to go to a bar or cafe, as we could not get cold water from the tap in the room, it was lukewarm.

  4. When we were doing it a couple of years ago, prior to boarding it was supposed to be a 6 pm, once on board it was 5:30, they are making it earlier and earlier.  They told us if we were late we would expected to by out before 7.
Last year we did Anytime dining, they started to open at 4:45 because the line up was getting too long.

  5. I was on Azamara this summer and they have separate bins in the public areas.  In your cabin you put it all in the one bin and they do it after.  I still put the paper separate but I think that is a Canadian thing.   In Florida for example some cities all the recycling and separating takes place at the refuse centre, not by individual households.

  6. We were just on Azamara with about 700 pax.
Yes there are less “activities” or fancy shows but there are also no/very short line ups for things.  Most of the time we took the stairs as it was only a couple of decks up or down.

We could arrive to see a show just a few mins before it started, always find a Seat near the pool, getting on and off the ship was fast

We were in the Baltics so we docked right downtown in a few places, especially Helsinki and St Petersburg.

If you are doing  Fiords in Norway you want a small ship (to me 3000 is NOT a small ship) as they will be able to go much further in.

  7. With a level you will get on the ship earlier if they have not started letting people on yet.  But like others have said not to the room.  We got on and went for lunch, lots of room to keep the carry ons near us, by the time we finished lunch they announced the rooms were ready.

It was nice to be sent right upstairs to the first lounge, and we were the 3rd group they let on board.  Next time I will not be with my Mom, the person with Elite, so we will be with the crowds.

  8. For most crackers it would be easy enough to pull out the “banger” to make them safe.
Glad to know Target in the US has them.
I have noticed in North America they often have pictures of the “prizes” inside so you can know what you are getting.  I have stopped buying the “cheap” ones.
In the past in Canada I have seen flat packed ones at the dollar store, that you added your own gift into them, they came with the jokes, hat and “banger”.

A quick summary, is that they have a paper crown, a joke, and some sort of small gift.  The ones we get have a key chain, dice, small screwdriver set, small mirror etc.

  9. I would bring your own “crackers”, as a lover of them I would would really miss having one.  I would not expect the ship to have them especially on a Caribbean cruise.  They are still not really a North American thing.   I would bring a couple extra for either table mates or others around you, so they could also were their “party hat”.

  10. We have had this for other trips, Alaska, we wanted 14 days, but all those on a certain deck were “sold out” but we were able to book the cabin on two 7 days trips.

We get stiffed out of well over $150 OBC and had to use both our FCC credits for the one trip.  They do this so they can make more money

  11. I had to get the hot water from the coffee machine at the international cafe for early morning,  the stuff in the pot was not hot enough.  The hot water dispenser in Horizon was ok, as long as you put the tea bag in immediately, if you waited until they brought the water, it had cooled off too much.

I just remember that it is a US company....

I hope they bring kettles to all their ships for next year.
