OK i did get some answers today from NCL and American Express.
I feel much better now. What ever
NCL does not cover our AmEx will as we have trip insurance through them too.
One thing I left out of my post is that I am in pain from my knee so without the surgery the trip would have been difficult as well. In other words, I need to have the surgery ASAP so I can get back to traveling 🙂
Thanks you all for your responses.

Thanks all. From my understanding After Knee replacement surgery it will take weeks-months of rehab for me to travel. My Doc told me a week ago that it will take 6 weeks to get on the surgery sch.
Thanks you all for your helpful advice.
We will call NCL tomorrow and see. My husband has said we will deal with it either way.75% credit sounds good to me at this point.

Hello all,
We booked a Transatlantic Cruise-Oct 20-Nov. 4. It is now apparent that we will be unable to go due to I now need knee replacement surgery. I feel confident that my Doc. can write a letter to NCL saying that I cannot go. We have the Standard insurance for NCL.Question is: what are our chances of getting our money back or at least a credit? My osteoarthritis has quickly progressed to the point where I will not be able to handle the airports involved or just getting around the ship. We have looked into renting a scooter for the cruise if need be but the surgery takes 5-6 mos of rehab afterwards. We have the Bogo air through NCL as well. Thoughts on our chances of getting credit or our money back?

Thank you all for your ideas and thoughts. I am looking forward to this cruise. I pulled the trigger a little fast before I considered the reality of the sea days. I'm very excited and I think we will be just fine.
Happy Sailing 🙂

Hi there,
We just booked a Transatlantic cruise! This cruise was a Bucket List cruise for us. The cruise has 5 sea days. I have always loved the idea of a Transatlantic and multiple sea days. My question is has anyone done a Transatlantic and really enjoyed multiple sea days OR really did not care for sea days at all?
Also, what are some stratigies and Tips for enjoying these days? What does NCL offer during those days? Classes or programs ?
We will be on the Getaway, Oct. 22. This will be our 3rd time on her.
Thanks

Hi,
My husband and I are sailing in the Bliss in April. We now have the opportunity to upgrade to the Haven. However, we have already paid for a Vibe pass. Does anyone know if we would be able to get that money back and cancel the Vibe if our bid was accepted?
Thanks

So we think the Steak is better in LaBistro than Cagney's! I always get the onion soup and the Dover Sole. My husband is a steak snob and loves La Bistro for steak.

I was so surprised when we were on the Epic on our Mediterranean cruise how little time we spent in our cabin much less the spa! I would save your money and use it for a wonderful excursion.

We went on the Epic on MED cruise a few years back. It was a fantastic cruise. We were so busy everyday that all I needed was a comfortable bed at the end of the day. The itenerary is very port intensive This particular cruise is by far my favorite cruise ever. You will love it!

Good morning,
My DH is immno-compromised. Needless to say we have bot cruised since Covid arrived. We have a cruise scheduled in early July in a Haven suite on the Breakway.
My question is, has anyone NOT gotten Covid in the last 2 or 3 weeks while cruising or shortly after they got home from a trip?
We are vaxxed and boosted and will mask up. We are OK with not even getting opff the ship. Or should we cancecl the cruise?-Like many of you we have booked and cancelled so many cruises over the last few years and really want to GO!!!!!!

Do you want to NOT have the Thermal Spa access?
Many would remain in the HI for "that reason" alone (SPA and Haven access for the lower price)!
We've been in the Thermal Spa before in a Balcony. It was wonderful but I think we could be happy in the Haven area too. Thanks for your insight though.

Hello,
My DH and I are currently in a HI Haven Suite and have the opportunity to bid on a HF on the Breakaway. The HI is near the SPA and the HF is in acctually in the Haven. The price quoted is 300pp. What is the price we should bid for it?
We have never been in the Haven before. This is a celebratory cruise to celebrate our retirements-which happened 2 years ago but due to the Pandemic we've had to reschedule multiple times-like most of you. We plan on doing absolutely nothing for a week.
Thanks All

Hi,
I will be cruising in 2022 on the Apex and later on the Edge. I cannot wait!
I recently got dx as a diabetic but haven't cruised since. My question is how easy ( or difficult) is it to find foods to eat in the restaurants that are low carb/diabetic friendly? We will be in an Aqua Spa Suite for one cruise and a Sky Suite for the other if that helps. Do thry ever offer sugar free desserts?
Thanks so much,
Sarlin

Yes, we felt like it's much better to be informed. I felt bad for the passengers and I felt horrible for the crew!
This will not change our cruise plans at all though. The world is in a much better place now, thankfully

First, congratulations on your upcoming retirement. As a retired educator myself, I can tell you that nothing beats the feeling of not having to schedule your potty breaks around a bell schedule or your vacations around a school calendar!! You are going to love it!
Celebrity is one of our go-to cruise lines. We think the Celebrity product is among the best and have also done a lot of NCL and RCL cruises as well. Celebrity has a more laid back but upscale feel without being stuffy. I haven't been on Edge yet but think you picked a great ship to get your feet wet with the Celebrity experience. If you can find a good deal, I highly recommend an Aqua class cabin or even a suite if you're going for a splurge. You can't beat the amenities offered in either. Don't get me wrong, you'll have a great time in any category!
Having said all that, be advised that the evening entertainment on Celebrity is much more subdued than what you will find on the others. Be prepared for live music in areas about the ship, some atrium dancing, a production show, a comedy show...the usual things but just more scaled down. We enjoy the productions shows and the casino...all smoke free.
I'm really excited to retire now. This cruise will be something to look forward to.

Provide Celebrity's Captains Club (1-800-760-0654) with you RCs Crown and Anchor numbers. The Captains Club and CAS tier levels are reciprocal up to elite (Celebrity) and diamond (RC).
Good to know! I will do that-Thanks

Hello All! For my retirement cruise we have just booked the Celebrity Edge! I am so excited. I retire this Fall-I'm a Teacher-but we decided not to go until Dec. 3 2021. We have cruised NCL, Royal, and Carnival (never again). We have stuck with NCL because we keep getting perks but we decided on something different this time around. Anyway I'm usually a "lurker" on these boards so I'll "see" you all around.
If you have any tips for a first time Celebrity cruiser let me know!

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it so much-I was thinking the Epic as well. I have booked both for now as there is still time to "officially" decide-and I had cruise next certificates for deposits
