  1. We have sailed on both-Between the 2 I would choose the Getaway-It's more our taste-To us the food really was comparable-We have been on the Getaway twice and would book it again in a second-The specialty restaurants are perfect for foodies-We were in a suite on Harmony and got to try all of the specialy restaurants on there-For us Getaway leads by just a bit. You can't go wrong with either choice-We did find Harmony a tad more formal but Getaway can be as formal as you want it to be-We love the buffet on Getaway-

Enjoy your cruise whatever you choose!!

  2. Hi,

We were on the Epic a few weeks ago in the Mediterranean . We were on Deck 12 cabin 12238-somewhat Aft but there were many cabins between us and the back of the ship. Coming out of Barcelona there was a horrble "shimmying" vibration to the whole ship-It kept us up most of the night-The rest of the trip we Never felt it again! Is this normal for the Epic? Maybe it was fixed the next day as we were sailing? Any ideas what was going on?

BTW we had an unbelieveable time-Not a huge fan of the Epic but would sail her again -The ship's design, which has been debated a million times, was not something I would want to experience again unless it was to get me back to the Med.!!

  3. Thanks so much for all the suggestions! So thankful there will be plenty of options for us!

I think I will wait a week or so and see how the ankle is- I know at the very least we could enjoy Naples itself-Also, too we may get brave and try to do the Amalfi coast-

Is the Amalfi coast a drive we could do on our own without a driver?

    Thanks again!

  4. Hi All,

Sailing in 2 1/2 weeks and I have broken my ankle! Yes we have insurance but we are going to still go on our mediterrean cruise-BtW I am in a walking boot/cast-The Dr. knows about the cruise and we have discussed the best ways for me to stil cruise-

Naples is the port I am most worried about-We had a Pompeii tour planned as well as the Amalfie coast drive-I think we will cancel this as it is advertised as a mile and 1/2 walk-Also, Rome is the next port and I want to be able to tour Rome if nothing else-

With that being said, what is the port of Naples like? Is it a port where my husband and I can leave the ship and perhaps sit in a cafe for a bit? Any other ideas as to how we can spend the day?

A friend has given us this cruise as a gift. I know!-And I want to make the absolute best of it-I am going with a positive attitude and will still make sure that it is a fantastic trip-Thanks for yor help!

  5. I apoligiize in advance for this qustion as I know its subjective- We have been on several NCL cruises on the Getaway and have had good luck in the casino-How is the casino on the Epic? We will sail her in a few weeks and I know my husband will spend a good amount of time in there- Thanks!

  6. Hi! I have sailed on Carnival, RCCL-Harmony- as well as Getaway-twice! I just Love the Getaway-We are sailing on the Epic in October-I think it all goes down to invidual preference-I have never had one single rude encounter with ship staff on NCL-I like the freedom of dining when we want to-I LOVED Le Bistro-My favorite restaurant on any ship-hands down-Also, the entertainment on the Getaway was awesome-I think the lines are all more alike then they are different but NCL is home to us!

  7. All,

The deck plans and info shared on the NCL site of the Bliss has me excited for our cruise in 2018. We have a Spa Balcony booked, 15258. According to the plans it is directly under the fitness center!? Does anyone on here have experience with a cabin under the fitness center on one of the newer ships? Was there any noise issues?

I did a search and read what I could find but I still would appreciate some reassurance on our cabin selection. There's plenty of time for me to switch-unless it gets sold out!

    Thanks

  8. I just posted the following review-I honestly cannot not think of a negative thing about this cruise! Please ask me any questions you may have and I'll try to answer them-

I was very fortunate to cruise with my friend in the Royal Suite-#1744 the past week on Harmony of the Seas!!! We had an awesome time-Honestly on the plane ride home I was trying to think of something negative I could say about this cruise but there isn't anything I could possibly think of negative to say-

The crew and staff all over the ship were nothing but professional and accomodating-

The food was a****ng-We went to-150 Central Park, Chops, Wonderland Sabor, the Japanese restaurant, and Jaimies-food was awesome everywhere we went=

Excursions-Labedee was awesome-I had no idea it was that beautiful-We had a cabana and just floated on floats in the little cove all day-So relaxing!

Jamaica-we did the island tour and beach break-The tour of Jamaica was good and interesting as the guide explained the history and culture of the island-It was hard to see all the poverty though-It made me feel guilty! I did take pics of Mick Jaggers house and was offered brownies of course:)

Finally Chichen Itza! I had been there before but not with a guide-It was jaw dropping! So thankful we were able to see it again-

The Royal Suite-1744-just amazing-It was a loft with a wrap around balcony-We had 4 adults and plenty of room! The perks that come with the room made it even better! I loved being pampered!

Our Genie, Alexandra, booked all shows and dining for us-She met us at every venue to make sure we got there and seated us :cool:I could not believe though a few passengers we encountered who seemed to complain about everything-You're on a cruise-Let IT GO and just be thankful!!!!

  9. Help me to convince myself to try an Alaskan cruise!

I know my husband will love it! I'm a spring/summer, lay out by the pool, give me a beach anyday, kind of person-

I DO love new experiences and I think I would love it too I really do-But-

If you are on an Alaskan cruise what do you do on sea days?

I did read that the casino is open-

What are some must sees? Must dos?

Anyone out there who like me loved the islands/sand/waves/warm sun and tried an Alaskan cruise and loved it too?
