  1. Thanks for the above information. Does any one know if terminal 6 has enough parking and or is there a overflow lot when 6 is full.

I don't believe there is an overflow lot, so when the port garage is full, it's full. That said, the Port of Tampa doesn't mention how many spaces their garage has. Whether there's "enough" parking likely depends on how many ships are in port (the garage serves all the terminals at Tampa- not just terminal 6).

  2. If you have been on the Allure recently' date=' [b']could you please explain in baby steps how we go about[/b] checking out pool towels? I haven't been on Allure specifically, but the towel process is fairly similar among all the ships.

Traditional clip board or if electronically, how? They scan your Seapass now when checking out or returning towels. No clipboards.

Where to get them? By the pool areas.

    How many per person? Unlimited.

Are they always available? They're available when the pools are open.

    Also:

About beach/shore excursion towels.... Do you get these as you are leaving the ship or do you check out the pool towels? They should have additional towels available for checkout on the piers when disembarking.

What happens if you use the towels, bring them back to the room, take a shower and leave them in the room for the cabin steward instead of returning them wherever? Do you get charged? You shouldn't be, but check your statement the night before leaving and after you return to ensure no erroneous charges were made.

Thanks so much for your help!

  3. What terminal does RCL use and how is the process of getting on and off the ship. Also what parking is available. Thanks for any information.

I sailed Rhasophy last year. Gettting on was quick- we boarded later around 2-3pm and encountered no lines getting on.

Getting off the ship was smooth. My group cleared customs and immigration quickly and was able to hail an Uber in about 5 min.

I think RCI is using terminal 6 now, but not positive on that. There’s both port and offsite 3rd party parking options available.

  4. We have just booked onto Navigator OTS in May but the cruise is a chartered ‘music festival’ cruise and not a regular RCI cruise.

Has anyone been on such cruise and aside from the entertainment, what differs from a regular cruise. Can I still get C&A points?

    Tks

C+A benefits will vary by charter- it depends on what the planners are willing to pay for.

  5. I've looked but can't find it on there. I will search again!! So all adults have to purchase the package now. We had heard that not all had to if they didn't want to. Guess I'll just go ahead and purchase it too cause I know my daughter wants it. LOL!!

If all the adults in the room don’t want the deluxe package, you can call and usually get the refreshment packages for the non-drinkers.

  6. What is the highest you have seen it offered for?

About $65/day once onboard. Before sailing, I think around $55/day is the highest I've seen. If you like the price now, you can book it. If it drops, you can cancel and rebook online. The lowest price people have reported is around $37/day, but that doesn't show up for every cruise.

  7. I don't know where the border is between micro and macro, but there are a few local brewers here in the Cincinnati area (Rheingeist and MadTree) that are seemingly on tap in almost every restaurant and bar in the area. They could easily supply enough volume for say, all ships sailing out of Miami. Ships out of Galveston would use a different brewer from that area. I'm not suggesting that one brewer supplies all Royal ships. There must be a similar sized brewer in Southern Florida

Royal almost certainly works with a local supplier (or a global supplier with a local warehouse) for their food and drink. I wouldn't think it would be hard logistically to make this work. It's more likely an issue of a large company working with another large company, using high volume national brands, and a focus on cost savings.

In the US, a craft brewery is defined as a brewery producing 6 million barrels or less a year (about 3% of the US beer market); independent (no more than 25% ownership by a non-craft brewer) and traditional (using traditional or innovative brewing methods [no flavored malt beers]).

For Royal Caribbean, I'm guessing some of the hurdles they face in getting craft beer is not only volume, but distribution as well. They likely need to deal with a brewer that can distribute to multiple states (probably at a minimum all the states they sail out of, since ships move around). I imagine volume and distribution is exactly why Royal, as a large company, has to deal with other large companies for the beer.

Of the two US craft beers mentioned on the thread so far (Shiner Bock and Dogfish Head), Dogfish is the smaller of the two breweries, but it ranked 14th in 2016 in terms of largest craft breweries (https://www.craftbeer.com/editors-picks/top-50-us-craft-breweries-2016). I think Royal could do more to get craft beers (Disney, for example, makes a special ship-only brew for their ships), but they do have many regulatory and supply issues to deal with.

  8. Adventure has had two muster drills, one at 5:30pm for those onboard at that time, and another at 8pm for those who boarded later. You must check-in at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure, but once checked-in, you have until 30 minutes before departure to board.

Is this also the case for San Juan Jewel departures? I'm curious if my group will have to do a drill in the middle of an 8pm MDR dinner.

  9. Congratulations! If your price drops can can you get that adjusted. Or do they have to reprice at current sale and I will lose my obc.

Yes, you can reprice anytime before final payment is due to take advantage of price drops. OBC is based on whatever promo you reprice under, but any OBC that comes from a TA or from booking on board is not affected.

So for example, I booked onboard and got $100 OBC, but booked at full price as no promos were running. A few months later, the price dropped and RCI had a promo that included $100 OBC. Then the price dropped again, but the promo had no OBC. I repriced, but gave up the $100 OBC (the price drop was I think around $150). Then another promo with $175 OBC came and I repriced for that and got the $175 OBC. In the end, I have $275 OBC and a price that was several hundred less than I initially booked at.

  10. I was torn about it @ $47 so I'm going to wait and if it doesn't come down Coke Zero it is.

If the price doesn't come down for you, keep an eye out for the drink card once onboard. Not every cruise will offer it, but if yours does, it'll usually appear about halfway through the cruise and is normally around $80. It's good for 10 drinks up to $12/13 each.

  11. Would be a great boost to many local economies and Royal could demand a volume discount based on rotation with other craft beers in the marketplace. Also if runout on day 6 or 7 it is indicative of a great beer

I think the issue is not volume discounts, but volume. Many craft beer producers are probably not producing enough kegs to supply the ships. It's probably more effort than it's worth to go to local producers, price stuff out and get a few kegs to the ship that might only last a couple of days. I'd love to see more craft beer on the ships, but there's a reason most brews on board are macrobrews.

  12. We are getting married on the beach, but I have learned that our reception venue has now listed as a Carnival Excursion, I know it is a large place, but I truly booked for the privacy. So I am not sure what to expect. I will be flying down to check the location out, that is extremely important to me. My other option is to look at a new island completely.

I'm not sure if the hotel will distribute welcome bags as guest check in or should I have them distributed on the ship.

Let the hotel know that you're looking for something private. If you're getting married on the beach, and it's a public one, there's not much you're going to be able to do about other people around. That said, if the hotel is a large one, they might have a more secluded spot at the resort itself that might work for you.

As for deliveries to guest rooms, the hotel should be able to do it, but there's likely a delivery fee involved.

  13.

I have heard of suite guests hosting cocktail parties with alcohol and snacks. Not sure how that works.

But before the cruise, you will probably be contacted by the suite concierge,so reply and ask about this.

A friend of mine hosted a sail away party in his suite on my last cruise. He got several bottles of bubbly and cheese plates delivered to the suite as we left one of the port stops. I don't know what the cost was, but he made the arrangements through the concierge.

  14. You can buy any drink (booze or soda) at any time even if you don't have a "package". If you are on a longer cruise, you can wait until there are 4 days left in the cruise to decide if you'd like a package...and it's pro-rated by the number of days remaining.

Also, many cruises will offer a drink card for about $80 that have coupons good for 10 drinks up to $12/$13. It's not offered on every cruise, but if it is offered, it usually shows up halfway through the cruise (so day 4 of a 7-day cruise).
