  1. Was looking at the wifi packages, and it lists the unlimited package at  276 97

    Under need tknow it says:

Price displayed is per day use. Total cruise rate will be calculated based on the number of cruise days. • Can be used only on one device at a time.

Like.. really? This cant be the case.

What do I not understand here?

Normally I would not give a rats ass about internet access,  but this time I will have to do some work as well 😞

Threads like this drive me batty because of the people who say the Epic is their favorite ship.  Why is it your favorite Ship?  What does the Epic offer that the other large NCL ships don't?

People who complain about the Epic almost always list what they don't like yet those who say they love the Epic never mention what makes the Epic their favorite.  C'mon, tell me why the Epic is better than the Breakaway, Getaway, Escape, Joy, Bliss, and Encore.

For me, Epic is better simply because they have more solo cabins. As a solo cruiser, this ship is ideal for me, as i get to meet many other solo passengers. Also this ship is a little less family friendly compared to the newer ships (no gocarts etc) so the atmosphere on the ship is also a little different imo.

  3. I really enjoyed reading this.

Can I bother you with a question? Im going to Miami in April next year for a cruise and will be staying 3 nights in Miami before doing the transatlantic. I see you booked a a hotel on south beach. Never been to Miami beach  before so ive tried to do some research, and from what i can read, Its more of a party district than mid/north?

Ive looked at a hotel on the northern part of mid beach thinking that was more quiet?

I just want some quiet days before the cruise, as it will be more than enough time to drink and party onboard the ship.

The April 18 2020 Epic transatlantic is from Miami to Barcelona, not Port Canaveral.  I am booked on this cruise also and just checked my reservation (also a solo cruiser).  Don't want you to be at the wrong port and miss the cruise!

Omg you are right. Good thing I havent booked flight/hotel yet 🙂

I'd love to know which night the laundry package was offered and of course the Dailies.

Was never offered, to me at least. Was waiting for it as I had already spent a week in Barcelona before i got on the ship.

On the flip side, I had animal towles every night exept the first night.

A buddy of mine tried to skirt the new rule and up-charge by bringing his OWN shrimp on board in his carry-on. He said when he pulled them out at cagneys raw and asked them to steam them and place in a nice dish with some cocktail sauce the server said no problem. He ate them with the biggest grin on his face the entire 1st course along with a salad. So fast forward to the end of the meal. The server presents the check to the table..my buddy notices one of the line items on the bill states "$4.99 prep fee" he asked what that was and the waiter said...oh sir that is the new NCL charge for cooking your shrimp you brought on board!!!

His smile turned into a frown.

    Yeah, no...

I can't imagine what sort of telephone-game they play to train these reps. Lol.... in the MDR?

It's a fun show, and we aren't typically "watch other people dance," types. It's spectacular.

She is not entirely wrong, as some of the burn the  floor dancers indeed have a dance show in the MDR during dinner.

You are golden. Since it is closed loop EU, there are no immigrations and customs checks. As fast as you can walk off the ship and through the terminal, you are at a well stocked taxi stand.

Great. It seems to work out fine then. I iahte to be stucked at the aiport for several hours, and since I will be in Barcelona one week before the cruise as well, the plan was to get home asap after cruise.

Normally you get the NEXT Cruise deposit buying it on board - so did you buy this from another source i.e. eBay

gift etc. since you have not cruised NCL before ?

Your Latitudes Account is a record of your customer cruise account and that is where you would find this deposit.

An account is set up automatically for you after your do your first booking -

this is where you will find that Next Cruise payment.

The Next Cruise is used to reduce the cost of the cruise (fare)

Maybe i'm wording this poorly. I was thinking If I booked a cruise for a date later than my next cruise, lets say i book a cruise for 2020, and put in the deposit, then take advantage of the cruise next offering on my May cruise, I could use one of those deposits as a down payment on my 2020 cruise. I hope this makes sense. English is obviously not my first language 🙂

In any event, the OBC seems less handy than what I was hoping for, I cant use it to book anything in advance 😞

    Thank you for your answers.

  10. Hello everyone.

So im going on my first NCL cruise in May 2019.

I just logged on my NCL account and see they have a new year sale "Book now and receive up to US$ 1.000 to spend on board*"

I can't seem to figure out what "up to" really means. Even if I try to book a cruise, i wont tell me if get 1000?

Which brings me to my next question, What can you really spend the money on? You can only eat for so much, SPA isnt really me so that leaves stores? Anything worthwhile you can buy on those ships? Maybe they can be used against excursions as well? (even though they are pretty overpriced from what i can see)

If anyone has any insight on the matter, please share with the newbie 🙂

One last question, if i DO book now, will I be able to use a cruise next deposit towards it so I can get some cash back for my May cruise was well?
