  1. I’d like to know cost to cost out whether drink package is worth it if i mainly have mocktails. They were cheap on rcl! I’m also wondering if you can get the pop package instead of open bar package?
  2. Thank you! Does anyone know how much mocktails cost a la carte?
  3. Thanks. What a great list! Yes time is ticking for the amex promo i’d like to use plus the 250 cruise first you pointed out. I’ll try and mull it over this weekend!
  4. Are you expected to tip on top of the auto gratuities at the bar? I’m also wondering if this is the case at specialty restaurants. Its a hot topic on rcl board, not sure what its like at ncl. Also, are mocktails included?
  5. Is there any difference between the ncl encore and epic studio rooms/lounges?
  6. I guess my only question is are there any other considerations i have overlooked. One other one is if i was on epic i think i'd be more likely to get the drink package.
  7. Thanks Traveling fools. The cruise is a 7 night cruise with 2 sea days and tortola is only in port 6-1. The reason why i am concerned with the ship is on my alaskan cruise i felt i was on the ship quite a lot though partially due to late port days. You are right i may be overthinking it and should think positive. Someone in a different thread mentioned seating by the ping pong tables on the epic. I would have the studio lounge to sit in as well. Still the observatory lounge sounds nice for reading on encore
  8. Thanks for the response and for letting me know. The other consideration i didn't tell you is that if i flew out of port caneveral i could arrive 2 days early and go to the space center or epcot center. That would cost more dollars though
  9. Thanks for the rely. I'm considering the st. Thomas, tortola, puerta plata, stirrup cay itinerary. Looks like itinerary and times are identical so only difference is port it leaves from and ship. Epic leaves out of port caneveral, encore miami.
  10. Yes i agree with keeping the studio lounge for studio guests. In terms of gatherings given some solos may be paying double it makes sense to include them.
  11. I’m still debating what to do here. I like the sound of the waterfront and observatory lounge on the encore but it will cost 300.00 more although sailing out of miami where there is a direct flight from vancouver is a plus. Maybe i’ll check times in port. One post i read says soot falls on spice h20 on epic. Is that the case? Pool deck sounds nice on epic.
  12. Aren’t you partially paying more for the studio for the host and the lounge? I guess that is the way i see it.
  13. Looks like princess pacific wine country oct 24 cruise has low single supplement.
  14. Thanks everyone. Still deciding. Just curious if mexico is not as hot as the caribbean? That would be good.
  15. I know with other cruise lines it seems to be this year in november. Any idea when ncl releases those caribbean cruises to be booked?
  16. Thanks both. This is great! I think as long as there is no refund processed i should be fine.
  17. I am using a 250 amex promo to pay for part of a booking but i need to spend 1000. So i’m wondering if i would be able to transfer that deposit to another booking if i choose not to go ahead as otherwise i would lose that 250.00. I hope that makes sense.
  18. I’m also interested what the age range of studio passengers was. Thanks.
  19. Thanks for the reply. Wow! You get 50.00 shore excursion per port? I thought it was 50.00 total. Maybe it is different for a studio room.
  20. I still haven’t made a decision between epic to the caribbean or bliss to mexico! Someone in another thread said soot blowed into the spice h20 area on the epic. Did anyone experience that?
  21. Thanks for the tip about the lunch. I went on my cruise in june and i loved chops. I probably had the best steak i’ve had and the mushroom soup and shrimp cocktail were delicious. The waiter did say you were only supposed to get 1 appetizer but let me have 2. Are you supposed to only get 1? Also delicious chocolate cake. What i also liked was it wasn’t busy and i had a nice quiet seat by the window. I was tempted to try the giovanni’s lunch steak to compare but the chops lunch steak was so huge i thought 1 steak per cruise was enough.
  22. Hi crazycatlady. I’m also wondering how you liked sailing on a larger ship. I’ve only sailed on small ones.
  23. Thanks Crazycatlady, glad you had a good time! It didn’t look to me like online you could choose your room. Am i missing something?
