As a solo traveler, the Edge series of ships are the only ones in Celebrity's fleet that have a solo balcony room.  There's no other category for solos with solo pricing.  Though appreciated for the miniscule effort, they put the solo cabins in the worst place on the ship, deck 6, with nearly all cabins having obstructions and only mid-ship (not so bad) and forward (sucks).

Shared dining is available for a solo with Celebrity.  You can choose a dining time with maximum X number of people at the table or anytime dining, which is a free style, eat when you want kind of thing.

Thanks. I am aware whats happening with solo travellers on celebrity. I just feel i have to be somewhat agnostic with cruises and go for the lower price. The sept 24 pacific coastal is priced quite cheaply for some reason, even comparing other lines.

  2. I’m not familiar with celebrity. I know royal caribbean has a string of sales that aren’t really sales. Is that the case with celebrity? I’ve noticed some offer obc, not sure if that is a good deal.

I’m also interested if shared dining is offered on celebrity. I’m a solo traveller.

  3. Thank you. I am glad to hear its not a party cruise.  I was also looking at a norwegian cruise in march and i’m thinking that would be more likely to be a party cruise due to spring break. Right now i’m trying to decide between a pacific coastal on sapphire princess or mexican cruise on discovery. They are very different ships and i am happy to hear positive feedback on this one. It would be nice to get some sun in the winter in mexico.

  4. I'm debating between a mexican riviera vs. pacific coastal cruise. I do have concerns that the pacific coastal cruise will be rough which is my hesitation regarding that cruise. For mexican riviera i mainly want to go to puerta vallarta and not sure about taking the whole cruise for that reason. I'm not so interested in Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan. I'm thinking for both cruises i could do land vacations instead but san diego and san francisco both have expensive hotel prices. The cruise i'm looking at the cruise is in port in san diego and san francisco 8-10pm so could see quite a bit. Anyways just thinking out loud here. Are there other considerations?
