We had a JS guarantee for 5/22 and 5/29.  We decided that the ship wasn’t a reasonable charge since it’s older and smaller.  We ended up booking Celebrity Apex British Isles cruise.  More expensive, but new ship and good itinerary. (The kids don’t need that inheritance anyway)

Thanks, they're probably refunding based on cruise dates - we weren't expecting a refund that quickly anyway. Enjoy the new plan! We're still working on ours.

Interesting. Thanks for the update. I was curious as I couldn't see it on the deck plans. Did they put anything in that real estate? I wish the ship had mini-golf. It's such a laugh trying to play on a moving ship, especially when it's windy.

Nothing there at the end of June, some canopies over holes in the deck, not usable space.

That will be interesting for us, too, the cabin class we were booked in on Brilliance doesn't even exist on Enchantment.

Ah, we received the email, slightly different language: While we’re confident you’ll have an amazing time onboard Enchantment and enjoy many of the same features as Brilliance offers, the stateroom you’ll be re-booked in will be the best available stateroom but may be different than the original stateroom you reserved because Enchantment has less staterooms in that category.

We’re booked on the 29/4 transatlantic in an obstructed view balcony cabin which was booked as a balcony gty (cabin has been assigned already).  Looking at the deck plans for Enchantment there appears to be far less balcony cabins available compared to Brilliance and none with an obstructed view.  There were very few balcony cabins left for sale before Brilliance sales were suspended so I can’t see how RCI can move all the balcony bookings over to Enchantment. It’ll be interesting to see what happens but if I’m not offered a balcony cabin I’ll definitely cancel.

I haven't been on Enchantment, what was bad about your cruise?

Probably too long for this thread, suffice to say that we didn't particularly enjoy our time and won't return even though Enchantment's home port is (was?) only an hour away. We booked our B2B on Brilliance before going on Enchantment - to be honest we probably wouldn't have booked another Royal cruise at all, so this is a nice out for us.

Explorer is showing very similar itineraries, all from Venice.

We have a B2B booked end of next June, the nice thing about the itineraries is that they are not loops, our B2B begins in Greece and ends in Spain. Explorer is similar, but we booked Brilliance specifically for those itineraries and wouldn't be interested in anything still available (let alone the lack of cabin availability).

Island bar was not open in April and hadn't been since restart.  They did not have the staff for it.  Spotlight Lounge Bar like the South Pacific Lounge Bar on GR is rarely used.  Viking Crown Bar opens at 5 pm.  Just some FYI.

Island Bar also wasn't open for our cruise end of June. Spotlight Lounge Bar was also never open, though it doesn't matter much as you have to walk through Schooner to get to it. They used the space itself for quite a few activities (not enough, really), but the bar was never open.

I believe upper tier C&A members get a free garment pressing on formal/dress to impress nights.

Maybe Pinnacle, but I don't recall seeing it as a D+?

Suites get free pressing for the first formal night.

Taxi would be about $33 with (1-4) passengers or $43 with (5-7) so a taxi could be reasonable depending on the number.  Plus considering that the $7 shuttle carries14 to 30 some might want to take a taxi anyway to avoid sharing with that many strangers.

Plus no waiting for the shuttle to fill up.

Going rate seems to be $7.00 per person each way. Other ways to get there: walk(not recommended); ride a bicycle ( not recommended); rent a moped/scooter (definitely not recommended); take the municipal bus ( cheaper, but then you have to walk up and down the VERY BIG HILL);  swim ( too far). Seriously, the $7.00  per person is the best bet!

Taxi? ~$40, not unreasonable depending on # of party members.

I do like the idea of someone swimming around the island to get to the beach, though. 😄

  11. She'd only be able to check in to one room, so if you checked her in to the Star suite, the other room would be lost (no place to sleep) - if you checked her into the sleeping room, she'd not have Star class benefits. The only way I could think is to have a pawn - a sixth person (that will not get Star class benefits). Sister checks into Star suite, gets a second key for the pawn's room and sleeps there. Convoluted, but the only way I see it working.

I'm sailing on Friday and lucky that I double check. I was confused by how they say unvaccinated kids can take PCR tests up to 3 days prior to boarding so my whole family went to get tested 3 days prior - only to find out now that vaccinated guests have to get tested 48 hrs prior to boarding.

I still have 1 more day left to fix this but if I had not give this one more thought we would probably be denied boarding? I wonder how strict they are with it!

It's not really 48 hours - when did you test? If it was yesterday, you're fine. If it was Tuesday, yep, too early.

Some may also be stocking up on the gov't tests - you may want to hold off.

We just got a set of 8 iHealth tests as part of the second order (ordered 5/25/) - their expiration is 8/7/2022.

It should qualify for a three month extension from the printed date, so they would expire Nov 7th 2022. No idea if the proctoring services will take that into consideration, though.

If he tests negative, we won’t need the letter.  But the test is on Saturday, so there will be no way to get a letter from the doctor after we are tested.  That is where Plan B (online source) comes into play.  He has another, unrelated form to take to the doctor anyway, so we would like to combine these two things, but I am afraid the timing won’t work.

You can take a home test before the proctored test. If that's positive, get your letter then.

Thank you.... those all look like single bottles.  I am talking about a package of multiple bottles, usually between 6 and 10,  for a fixed price of say between $150 and $250 for the entire package.  You'd have multiple wines to choose from each night until you finished your allotment.

    Disney Cruise Lines does that.
