Such an odd thing to post here, what are you hoping to accomplish?

Now I'm just wondering if it is worth my time and energy to file a complaint. Will they even do anything?
Honestly, probably not. You might get some of the same advice from them that you would get here - which is, essentially, push for better service while you are on the ship - and you would get (as someone above mentioned) a canned apology letter. If you're thinking compensation or credit - magic eight-ball says "unlikely".
Posting here was probably a good idea, though, it will give you reassurance that what you experienced is 1) not sufficient 2) not usual. I think you had a poor experience, but I wouldn't let it deter you from future cruises (maybe wash hands a little better next time).

First, I'm sorry your trip was adversely affected by illness - never fun to be sick on vacation! Which night of the cruise was this? Ideally it would have been pushed up the chain while onboard (to supervisor, to hotel manager, etc), but I can't tell what night this was from your summary of events. Did you and your husband fall ill on the cruise, or after? Any involvement of the ship's medical facility?

That does not make sense as quite often they list one of the adjoining rooms but not the other and people book those individually.
Its amazing how many times I search for cabins for clients and see all kinds of inventory yet one of a par of connecting cabins is booked. Really with they would restrict the bookings of those pairs to those that are booking both cabins at least until there is no inventory left in non connecting cabins.
I think my idea makes sense - as in it would be logical for them to do it that way - but it doesn't sound like Royal does it that way. 🙂
I agree with you on restricting adjoining. I wonder how many people are just not paying attention - I know I would rather not have an adjoining door if I didn't need one (less opportunity for noise to come through).

Does anyone here know why rooms would be available when you call RCL directly but not on their web site?
To weed out the people that will settle for non-adjoining rooms. If you call, you must really want it. That way they sell the higher volume rooms before the lower volume rooms and hopefully fill more of each category to capacity - because if there truly weren't any adjoining rooms, you might not have booked at all.

It just blows my mind that somebody would actually pay that for a cabana when sitting in a regular beach chair is free. Even in the $2000 over water cabanas you still have to pay for drinks!
Doesn't surprise me when I look at the pricing for the cruise that takes us there. Inside rooms $800 for a family of four vs $30k for a star loft. Both are sold out.

Guests who report feeling unwell or demonstrate any flu-like symptom.
Your entire party should have claimed to also suddenly feel unwell, I guess (this is why their written policy of only one person being refunded is dumb). Hopefully this is resolved adequately for you soon, and I'm sorry you had to miss your vacation. Hope the kid feels better soon.

I keep seeing that Holiday Inn reference.
Obviously I am out of the loop. Explain, please😀
Holiday Inn ad campaigns - "I'm not a <insert profession>, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night".

Wait, is it really $850-$1000 for a cabana for one day?
Keep going - the overwater cabanas at Coco Cay beach club on our April sailing are $2k (and sold out). Beachside in the club are $1400 (and sold out). Water park cabanas are $1k (and sold out). The other cabanas are $1300 (and sold out).

I checked and it has to be within 30 days.
That's what the website says, but for our sailing in April the emails were sent about 60 days out.

Our sailing is April 4th on Symphony and neither of those has shown up in the planner.

Our March 2020 sailing on Adventure OTS (8 night Eastern Caribbean) has been sold out for many weeks. There's suddenly availability in all categories. It looks as if passengers are bailing. We will either upgrade (if prices come down) or bail (if the coronavirus situation becomes more dire).
1 hour ago, Biker19 said:That may have little to do with COVID-19. Same thing happened to some Anthem sailings before the outbreak.
Our Symphony sailing in April also showed sold out for a couple of months (suites for around six) but now has availability all the way from interior GTY to the Star Loft suite. Prices are still "normal" for the sailing, though.

We just got back from the Harmony. We won a bid from an owners suite to a Sky loft suite.
Just curious, when were you notified that your bid was accepted and how far in advance did the genie contact you?

Hi - does anyone have recent main dining room menus (or heck even specialty, including coastal kitchen, since they can change) for Symphony Eastern Itinerary? We're doing the Coco Cay, St. Thomas, St. Kitt's run. I was going to study in advance to see what I could ask for that might be gluten free...
Thanks in advance!!!

It does have the menus (at least for our sailing, same ship, same itinerary), but it doesn't specify which entrees are gluten free (vegan is specified by being under a different heading). Do the printed menus have an indicator?

Casino bar maybe?

The corkage fee only applies if you take the bottle to a public area. You can fill a glass and go anywhere.
Sweet - heading for the bridge. Glass in hand, no one can stop me!

So, I'm not an epidemiologist but if this particular virus is still a problem a year from now, my guess is that it's not going to be even semi-isolated to Asia any longer. Changing to a different set of ports isn't going to matter much.
I also don't work for Royal Caribbean, but my guess is they're not going to be inclined to make any adjustments to your reservation a year out based on current events. I would just keep an eye on what they do for other ships and itineraries in the next nine months and decide before final payment.

Keep the age of the third passenger under 21 - otherwise you'll have to pay for their drink package, too. 🙂
You'd get it back, but better to just not have to pay for it in the first place.

Do you get an email inviting you to bid or is there a website, I cant remember as last time I booked via an agent and didn't get the chance 🤔
Email, but there is a website that you can go to manually and check: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/booked/cruise-room-upgrade

Doesn't take long for someone to get their knickers in a knot because their 'Little Darling' has been traumatized.....
If that one traumatizes them, they should really, really not look at the rest of the collection. 😆

I thought the price of the cabana included the pass for the club, but looking at the cabana price it says $999.00 plus passes, does that mean the passes are extra, so depending on people at 199.99 per pass it could be in excess of $2600. Has anyone else noticed that? Maybe I'm reading it wrong.
It's $999 and you get the cabana plus 8 passes.
27 minutes ago, islandwannabee said:By that way was there the past Sunday and it was great, here are the only 2 flaws I noticed, only 2 ladies room stalls, and there was always a line. In the list of amenities, it says afternoon snacks, we left at 3 and there was no snacks. Paid $50.00 would go again at that price, but would not pay anymore.
Someone else mentioned wanting more bathrooms. That seems like a small number for the capacity of the beach club. Are the restrooms only near the club? None near the cabanas?

You can always cancel later. It can sell out, they only sell a couple hundred passes.
