Recently on Silversea and Makers Mark was available and not a bad Bourbon.

What I would do is pack light,and spend obc on dry cleaning/laundry.

We were booked on the March 4th sailing and the March 11th sailing. They offered to move us to the February 25th sailing which was a 7 night but became a 10 night.

With all that is going on there, we just didn't feel like it would be a safe or enjoyable place to vacation next year. We will be back once things recovery. Praying for the islands!

We just booked February 25th sailing, Pretty sure it will be safe,enjoyable? Not sure but we will go with the hopes of showing our support, spending some money and /or perhaps lending a hand in some kind of service project. Tourism is how most make there living and not knowing about hotels, cruise ships might be there only hope for a while.

Given that the title of the thread specifically refers to the Verandah Suite, yes, the bed is closer to the door than the balcony/verandah.

Our cruise starts from Venice and has a 11:30 departure, How dose Silversea handle a late night / first night departure? Things like dress code, drill, dinner, all aboard time, sail away party and any other tidbits that may be different.Thanks in advance. Getting Excited less then 2 weeks away!

Starting to pack for my upcoming cruise on the Spirit and just a little confused as to open-neck shirts on casual nights.Can I wear and do men wear a good quality polo shirts?

rpfarris, thanks for the reply. No real Bourbon drinker thinks Jack Daniels is bourbon LOL.

But I asked someone on the Silver Spirit in January to find out about Bourbon they poured his response was " Makers Mark & Jim Beam " hope he right.

I will stop as per your suggestion at the duty free shop in JFK to bring onboard.

Hi all, We booked a guarantee b 1 on Spirit in August, When dose Silverseas assign us a cabin and is it posted on our My Silverseas folder ?

mdpa, We are on same cruise! Can't wait.We have rented an apartment in Venice for a week pre cruise and most likely take a couple day trips by train to Lake Garda and perhaps Bologna. We fly out of JFK on the 18 and sadly return same day as the cruise ends.

I want to fly in a week ahead ( from JFK ) of our cruise out of Venice in August 2017. As I understand it I will pay a $100.00 change fee,and may have to pay additional fees if flights are more ( TBD ). My question is has anyone had to pay additional fees?

I don't know anything about it, other than what its site says. It is a lot cheaper than right at the port, and they do offer free shuttles. Usually one just gives the driver a small tip per passenger...

 

It is not quite as convenient as parking at the port itself, but if you are on a longer cruise, especially, it does offer an attractive savings...

Them $189.00, Parking at the port $228.00.Not worth $39.00 savings ( before tip to shuttle driver ) to me for a 12 day cruise.If for no other reason then waiting to get pick up after cruise.
