  1. You are most probably correct. The Sabbath is a day for longish morning prayers (2-3 hours), long meals, bible study and family time. Swimming is generally not done but lounging around the pool if there is spare time is acceptable
  2. On the specia lYeshiva Week sailings they sometimes use part of the Windjammer for the overflow from the Bistro and yes, they would get the same fresh Glatt Kosher meals food.
  3. If you look at the small print in the ad you can see that there are really two types of Kosher options. The first is the "Fresh cooked onboard" option which costs $60 per day per person extra above the regular fare and is served in the Solarium Bistro or another closed off location. This is only offered on special group or Yeshiva Week cruises. The second option is the frozen precooked meals which can be ordered in advance without extra cost and are served in the MDR or sometimes the Windjammer, with disposable plate and cutlery. This is a year round service. That is what your saw.
  4. The address for any ship would be good too as I could probably figure it out from the format.
  5. What would be the email address for the Cruise Director on the Jewel?
  6. It is true that there won't be any traffic at that hour and the trip would take an hour and a half to two hours, but there won't be any real time at the hotel either. I would think that they would have to "get up" and organized around 1:30 AM and depart at 2:30, so not too much sleep. I think that it would be better to book a room in Tel Aviv at a decent and not overpriced hotel, rest up walk around the city, have a nice early dinner and get going around 3:30- 4:00
  7. I keep strictly Kosher and have been cruising with Royal for over a decade. All the staff goes out of their way to do everything possible to make sure that you are well fed and comfortable during the meals. I never went hungry.
  8. As mentioned I have not heard of any organized service for the High Holidays (RH & YK). They are tricky Holidays. My suggestion would be to speak to the Cruise Director once onboard and ask to reserve a room for Services and that it should be listed on the Cruise Compass similar to the Self Led Sabbath Service on Friday nights. Every Royal ship I have been on has Siddurim (Prayer Books) either Conservative or Reform or both. You can also ask that they make Challah and supply wine, usually Manischewitz. As to Kosher Food, the pre prepared, strictly Kosher frozen meals are available all year round and do not cost extra. Kosher for Passover meals are available with a 3 month advance notice. You get to choose your appetizer, soup, main and dessert, by coordinating with the Maitre D the night before.
  9. Looking for hotels/motels with free or paid shuttles to Port Everglades. Any recommendations? Thanks
  10. I will be on the Epic shortly. I would appreciate some details about current production shows, headliners, game shows etc. Thank you
  11. When I was on the Anthem it was very popular with both kids and adults. We walked WITH the current and it pushed you along as an oncoming wave would. If you picked up your feet, there was a great feeling as you were forced forward. Enjoy
  12. Mine is always inside a backpack or carryon with other things and have never been asked to take it out in over 20 years
  13. If your room does not have a fridge, ask your steward for a portable refrigerator which is used to store medicines. They easily fit under the desk and can hold several cartons of milk and stay very cold.
