I wrote a review but just wanted to post here also. Just finished 12 night and had a great time. We couldn't get off in Dominica unless you had Celebrity tour. All other ports we were able to walk off and shop. St Kitts had the most shopping. We thought the service was amazing and we feel the food has been improved. The shows were hit and miss. Some we loved, others not so much. So now we detox and diet until March on Edge!

Can you verify that all of the ports underlined below which I believe were included in your itinerary that you were allowed to visit without being on a Celebrity Shore Excursion. The list below is off of the Celebrity Site and it states that you're required to take one of their Shore Excursions. Just trying to figure out which ports in the Cribbean are requiring ship-based shore excursion to disembark.

    Thanks

Excursions provided by Celebrity Cruises are required in:

    • Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis
    • Bridgetown, Barbados
    • Castries, St. Lucia
    • Colon, Panama
    • Falmouth, Jamaica
    • Kingstown, St. Vincent
    • Roseau, Dominica                         Not Allowed per your review above.
    • St. George's, Grenada

  2. I complete two Captains Club Power Up Points tasks. One in October and one in November, It appears that they have not credited my Captains Club points total. I believe they were each for 10 Power Up Points that should translate to 1 Captains Club Points. Is there anyway to check if they credited my Power Up Points or is there a phone number I should reach out to?

Port Side - 4th Floor adjacent to the Elevator (Mid-Ship),   10th Floor Port Side by Swimming pool next to ping pong tables, 11th floor Starboard  adjacent to the Mast Bar.

To my knowledge there are no public decks on deck 5

Thanks Jim for your detailed response. I do stand corrected. I meant deck four, unless they've assigned the lifeboats on deck five as the smoking section. 🙂

On the Summit, or any M-class, concierge cabins are larger than regular verandas.  Most balconies are the same size.  There are exceptions - the M-class cabin sticky can be helpful with that.

Edit:  The furniture in a concierge cabin on Summit is the same as a regular Veranda so there's extra "wasted" space.  Lots of open space beside nightstands.

I agree with the wasted space. I'm not sure why Celebrity didn't put a full size love seat in the Concierge and Aqua Class Cabins.

  5. So instead of reducing the price, they're going to offer onboard credit. The onboard credit will only be for new bookings between 11/23/2021 - 11/30/2021. If the Cruise Price goes down, you can request a price adjustment to your current booking, but with the Black Friday Offer, you'd need to cancel and loose or receive FCC for your non-refundable deposit in order to rebook to receive the onboard credit. This seems like a sneaky way to get around having to honor their Price Guaranteed Policy.

  6. It's been my experience when you have special pricing (FCC's, etc.), the standard agent is not always able to reprice or address your concerns. There's a special department, I believe it's called Resolutions and they can call or transfer you to. They have greater authority in changing existing reservations. I also agree, call M-F. early AM.

U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requires any airline operating to/from the U.S. to refund you if the airline cancels the flight. You don't have to "settle" for a future flight credit. The airlines are trying to conserve cash and are banking on people not knowing their rights as consumers. In recent weeks the DOT has come down hard on airlines advising customers they are only entitled to future flight credits.

Call back to Flights by Celebrity. They are able to verify both airlines have cancelled your flights. They will open a refund request on your behalf. You need to mention the DOT rules, indicating to them you know your rights! This is what folks on the Roll Call thread for my cancelled cruise are doing.

And just for your own information and curiosity, log into your credit card account and see who the charge went to when you originally bought your flights. Was the charge to Flights By Celebrity, or to JetBlue and Norwegian Air?

    Flight Cancellations

What happens when my flight is cancelled?

    • If your flight is cancelled and you choose to cancel your trip as a result, you are entitled to a refund for the unused transportation – even for non-refundable tickets.  You are also entitled to a refund for any bag fee that you paid, and any extras you may have purchased, such as a seat assignment.

Thank You very much for your detailed response.

  8. I had nonrefundable flights booked by Flights by Celebrity on JetBlue and Norwegian Air and both flights were canceled by the Airlines. Based on the US Department of Transportation Web Site, if a flight is canceled by the airline, you are entitled to a refund even if the original fare was nonrefundable. I contacted Flights by Celebrity and they put me on hold and proceed to cancel my reservations and came back on the line and said I have a 1-year future credit with each of the airlines. I told them I wanted to refund and they directed me to contact the airlines. I did, and they told me since the tickets were purchased by Flights by Celebrity, I'd need to contact my TA and have them request the refunds. (Catch-22). I'm really starting to regret that I used Flights by Celebrity and I would have been much better off using a real Travel Agent or booking them myself. I know this problem may seem trivial in today's world, but I'm just looking for any suggestions from folks who may have dealt with this.

The cruise lines and airlines really need to be on the same page. If we reschedule our cruise to a similar one next May, it is a few weeks past the one year voucher being offered by the airline. Why don't they all offer vouchers through the end of 2021?

That's all good, but Flights By Celebrity tells you to contact the airlines for a refund and the airlines tell you to contact your Travel Agent. It's a Catch-22 that makes for unhappy customers.

Sorry I relized I quoted the wrong entry, but my point is still valid.

  10. I was booked on an a non-refundable Norwegian Airlines flight for May 6, 2020. I checked the Norwegian Site a couple of days ago and my flight was canceled. I never received any information from Norwegian. I then received the notice that my Edge - Transatlantic Cruise had been canceled. I reviewed the Q & A and contacted Celebrity. At first they told me it was my responsibility to contact Norwegian. I went to the Norwegian site, and it clearly stated "If your tickets were booked through a 3rd party or travel agent, you need contact them". I then contacted Celebrity again and let them know of the situation and next thing I know Celebrity cancels the flight and tells me I have a credit with Norwegian. I escalate the call and I'm then told by Celebrity to go to the Norwegian WEB Site and submit a claim for a refund. I attempt to do this, but it comes back with an error message that due to it being purchased by a travel agency (Flights By Celebrity), I'm not allowed to request the refund. At this point I have a credit with Norwegian that has to be used one year from the original purchase date. Therefore I have until January 2021 to use it. What's frustrating is that Norwegian is willing to give refunds for non-refundable tickets, but it's a catch-22 with Flights By Celebrity. At this point, I'm sorry I didn't book with them directly, I thought I would have better service / protection using Flights By Celebrity.

  11. I just received notice that my April 19 - Edge Transatlantic cruise has been canceled. I spoke with Celebrity Reservations and Flights By Celebrity regarding my nonrefundable airfare. Their answer to my question was clearly stated in their Q&A on the Celebrity Web Site. It states that if Celebrity cancels the cruise, they'll refund airfare even if it's non-refundable (see below). Here's the gotta, this was only for cancellations between March 14 and April 10. The second wave of cancellations April 11 - May 10, the rules have changed. No refund on non-refundable tickets, airline credit only and that expires 1 Year from original date of purchase. Every changing rules!!!

Q: If my cruise was canceled due to the 30-day suspension, and our flights were booked with Flights by Celebrity - are they refunded also?

A: If your sailing was suspended between March 14 - April 10, and you booked refundable flights through Flights by Celebrity, the fare will be refunded automatically, and the $200 penalty will be waived. If you booked a non-refundable ticket through Flights by Celebrity, you will receive a refund. If you purchased air travel on your own, you will need to contact their airline directly.

That update came from my TA this morning.   I just checked the Celebrity site T and C's and it's not updated there yet.

Congrats on your outcome Susan. Been following since you posted being that we may find ourselves in the same position with our upcoming cruise. Curious if this change is temporary in light of current events, or permanent. Also wonder how cruise insurance would handle?

I saw this question under the Q&A Section when the Cruise With Confidence  was first announced, but it's not been on their WEB Site the last couple of day. I guess we can only hope they post it to their WEB Site with the new answer. Thanks

Dear cruise friends!  I have great news!

I am finished my rant and now for the latest!!   Just received this from my TA:

Looks like they made a change to that policy:

"What if my client used a Future Cruise Credit to pay for their existing cruise and now wishes to cancel under the Cruise with Confidence terms?
The original Future Cruise Credit will be reinstated with the prior Future Cruise Credit expiration date  and amount. Your client will also receive a new Future Cruise Credit based on the amount paid and following the Cruise with Confidence policy terms."

    Thanks Susan,

Can you direct me to where this is stated. I've not canceled yet, but would like to have it as backup if I choose to and need it to get my FCC that I used to book the cruise reinstated. Is it on the Celebrity WEB Site?

    bon voyage

I must respectfully disagree with your analysis on the OP's situation. We could only be sure if we could read the original FCC and see the terms applying to that specific FCC. This has been my own experience the three times I've had FCC's issued to me..

I have copied a  recent FCC (removing my personal info) that I received and I don't see language saying that once applied to a specific cruise it is therefore considered used.

Well I cancelled our March 15 Silhouette sailing.   Sooo disappointed, but at least I thought I was compensated with a full future cruise credit.   Wrong!!    We had a nice FCC from a cruise we took in 2019 where something went wrong in a suite,  so they compensated us 1,100. for the wet, soggy carpet we endured.   So we used the credit are part of our payment for the cruise just cancelled.   Just got an email from the TA that the FCC I used is considered "redeemed and used."    Not good will for a loyal, Elite customer.   Actually it's BS.   I will need to rethink the loyalty,  since we loved our last Princess cruise so much.....

Wow sorry to hear that. I saw that verbiage in the RCCL Release, but there was no mention of it in the Celebrity Statement. I too used $1,000 of FCC to pay for my cruise. I feel it's completely unfair that we lose our previous FCC. It's like buying a $100 item at a store using a $50 gift card and $50 in cash. You return the item and they only give you back your $50 cash and keep your gift card. I too was a loyal Celebrity Fan, but I think that's all about to change.

If I recall correctly, the discount doesn't apply to the surf package.  At least that's what they told me.

I just called yesterday and purchased the Surf Package using my CC discount.

I don't believe any one here knows the proprietary logarithms that are used to maximize their revenue.    I would believe that it will be the same regardless of cost you paid for the cabin.   The reason for this belief is that they are looking for additional revenue.   After final payment the move up additional revenue would be the same regardless of the rate you had paid.

Just my opinion.       You might ask others on your roll call and compare.

    Thanks Jim!

It's just odd that to even get the needle out of the red (lol), I'd have to bid more today then the cost difference between the two categories as listed on the Celebrity Site and the Move Up Bid would not include the additional CC Points or Four Perks if bidding on a Suite.

  18. Is the Move Up Bid Range Amount the same for every guest in a particular cabin category regardless of what their original cabin cost was?

Example: If one Concierge Cabin was booked for $1,000 and another was later booked for $1,500 would their Move Up Bid Range be the same?
