  1. We did a cruise out of PR years ago on the Victory and it was great! With only one sea day it is a very busy cruise though. We didn't stay up late partying as we were getting up early every day to get ready to hit a different port. We flew in a couple days early and stayed in the Condado area which is just outside of San Juan and really nice. I'm sure things are a little rough since the storm and I know firsthand that it takes a while for a city to rebuild after a major hurricane. Hope you enjoy whatever cruise you decide to go on.

  2. We are doing this same itinerary for our Horizon cruise in 2019. Only port we have been to is Grand Turk and we love it! Nice large pool at Margaritaville and the beach is really nice too. Best of all is everything is close to the ship so no need to spend money on a taxi. Not sure what we are doing in the other ports yet as I am just starting to do research on here. Have fun!

  3. Given your situation with the wedding, I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't have some place you can store your carry on bags. As for a few tips, the Blue Iguana Cantina has awesome breakfast burritos and shorter lines than the main serving buffet line in the morning. Also do yourself a favor and discover Guy's Burger Joint early on the cruise because if you're like us, you'll want one every day! Hope it's a great time for all. Geaux Tigers!

  4. Thanks for taking the time to do this review! It was very entertaining and informative. Loved all the pics too! Wife and I are cruise addicts and part of my addiction is getting on Cruise Critic. Love reading reviews and researching the ports we will be visiting. Our next cruise is May 2019 on the Horizon so I am soaking up info from the Vista since it's similar. My wife doesn't really get on here much but I have to get her to read your review because there are a lot of things you said and did that remind me of her.

By the way, this past Sunday was a rough football day for your Dirty Birds and my Saints. Like a lot of people down here, I was hoping for an NFC South match up for the NFC Championship game. Oh well, great year for both of our teams.

  5. We walked up to the Serenity and got in line for the salad bar, Fresh Creations. The line stood still for a good 5 minutes while workers were bringing up clean bowls from wherever they go to be washed. Not the best design if they’re going all the way to the galley to be washed and then need to be brought back up to deck 15. It was VERY windy outside and not conducive to building a salad in open air. The lettuce and spinach were covered by plastic lids and really hard to get to with tongs, and some of the salad toppings were also flying around. Trying to hold onto your plate while serving flying food was not a pleasant time. We decided that eating outside was not a possibility so we went down to the Pub & Brewery to eat lunch and buy our very first fishbowl. What an experience that was! Also very surprising how quickly you make friends while sipping a fishbowl, as several people approached us to ask what we were drinking or how to get one. So fun!

I promise I shared some of it with my husband!

There is a local restaurant chain down here in Louisiana called,"Copeland's" started by Popeye's founder Al Copeland. They serve a fish bowl drink that looks just like that and it's called "Crash & Burn" and it is strong but so yummy! Don't recall seeing this on a cruise and was wondering how much it is?

I like you're school spirit and I always bring some LSU gear to wear on my cruises. Still enjoying your review!

  6. Really enjoying the pics and review! We finally have another cruise booked to look forward to. Doing an 8 day Southern Caribbean cruise on the Horizon so I'm interested in the Vista as it will be very similar.

We love love the balcony cabins but due to the price difference, we usually get the category 4J rooms. This time we are splurging on ourselves to celebrate our 30th anniversary,(six months late), and can't wait. Looking forward to the rest of your review.
