  1. Haha I probably sweat off that big plate of chili lobster!
  2. So I got off the ship to just walk around the port here at AmberCove..bad idea! its so humid and hot it’s stupid! I’ll make sure to NEVER come south of Grand Turk again in the summer! I literally will have to change clothes for tonight I sweat THAT much! (And all I did was walk through the little carnival port area!) I guess it’ll give me a chance to take advantage of that Platinum Laundry perk; as I’ll need this shirt and shorts again in the cruise. A photo of my sweat-ridden self in La Republica Dominicana, to prove I was here, haha.
  3. Yup; they’re 200% automatons; they only move when their computer (ie: corporate) tells (read: allows) them to. i guess it’s better than living in a mud hut? EDIT: Sorry, modern day indentured servitude is a sore subject for me.
  4. Success! They have cut up oranges and grapefruits. I’ll take it! I also got four eggs, instead of my usual three; because these are tiny eggs.
  5. Sweet. I was able to upgrade my Blue Lagoon excursion..I originally booked the “family” side because it was cheaper ($85) but then I realized I’d rather do the “Adults” side (which is $125) after doing the “Adults only” place in Grand Turk. Also got my next $2000 batch of gift card loaded. Headed up to Lido MarketPlace now
  6. Gooood morning Amber Cove! Got up and put my morning mile in. Going to get cleaned up and peruse the breakfast buffet today..see if maybe they have any better selection of fruit. (Also I want to cut down on my breakfast size..I usually eat three boiled eggs [two just the whites], and half an orange) so maybe if I find the fried eggs; I can just eat the whites of two then all of the third, and MAYBE also find an orange (that was the one good thing about princess Royal class..their buffet had soooo many different types of fresh fruits!)
  7. I tried that once before and they looked like they had no idea what the words “comps” was…
  8. I just realized it was only one “extra” bowl of rice..but I truthfully didn’t need the first bowl! (I should have just ate the lobster meat)
  9. Thanks for the photos. i actually posted a little too soon; I caught them coming out of ChiBang.
  10. But that sauce was like crack! I know I did a lot of walking and moving today; so I can only hope it balances it out for eating such a glut. On another note; the WiFi has been pretty good..but as we get closer to the DR..it’s just went to doodoo (like not even 1Mbps) EDIT: Nevermind it’s back to 25Mbps
  11. Damnit! I said I wouldn’t do this..I literally ate myself into a food coma! I am so full it’s actually painful, lol. I DEFINITELY have to get up to exercise in the morning and ALSO really watch what I eat for the next few days, because I blew it way out of the water today. (But man everything today was just so good!) Im going to futz around on the internets for about an hour (to hopefully allow my painfully full stomach to settle a bit) then take rest. Morning comes early so I can get out there and put my laps in.
  12. Singapore Chili Lobster and Hakka Noodles My Server said these “specials” are brand new this cruise. I gotta say; I’ve always wanted to try the famous Chili Crabs in Singapore. This is honestly my new favorite dish on carnival, PERIOD. If you like lobster and you like a good sweet spicy sauce..ORDER THIS! I literally got three extra bowls of rice just to sop up the sauce!
  13. My man recommended I get the Singapore Chili Lobster..done deal he also persuaded me into ordering pot stickers haha (I was only going to get the lettuce wraps..but the potstickers WERE really good)
  14. JFC! It’s an absolute cacophony of sounds in here! It’s tough because I can’t hear individual voices; so my brain tries to focus in on a frequency to “pick up” a voice and it’s just a constant re-try. (Imagine a dial-up modem that can’t catch a dial-tone)
  15. I think I’m going to do it this time; because I asked if I came back to order the “for pay” specials I’d still ALSO have to pay the $8. i just have to figure out which one I want…the lobster or the crab (which I’d hope is Crab and not Krab..or “surimi”)
  16. Damnit! I shouldn’t have had that drink..it made me feel kinda full..and I wanted to be able to try all this stuff at ChiBang.
  17. Just watched Manny Acosta’s comedy set..pretty funny. also; just saw the dancing lion/dragon go into ChiBang; which I missed damnit haha. Maybe they’ll come back when I’m in there shortly.
  18. Just realized an 18+ comedy show is happening at 6:45 and I had nothing else planned (read: todo). Ordered my first sugary booze drink (PunchLiner); because I walked up and down 5 flights of stairs to get up to the cabin to drop the cash off and then back down here. I am planning on going to Chibang for dinner; so I just gotta time my “check-in” just right. i think I’ll skip Cucina on this sailing; only because I can get it on any ship. however I DO think I’m going to Emeril’s for dinner one night..to get some seafood (I had his food before back in the day at MGM in Vegas..his BBQ shrump were gooooood)
  19. So I played today’s $2000 slowly..no host approached me. i was getting absolutely RINSED for the first MAJORITY… then I got a couple good bonuses to end up with $1751..a little lower than the EV of $1800; but I’ll accept it. i just need to have one of the next two days be a break-even or WIN; to get close to overall EV.
  20. What a weird thing..there’s a butterfly flying around on my balcony…I’ve NEVER seen that on a cruise ship
  21. As a funny comment about being a loner.. On the way back from HSH, I got on the bus in (for the most part) the front of the line..absolutely NO ONE would sit next to me..until the VERRRRRY last person had no alternative, haha. On the way there I actually sat down next to an older gentleman from Kentucky and we had a nice chat about San Francisco (his son was at UCSF when he was a baby in 99; because he has a rare brain defect…he said it was the ONLY place in the US that would take him and even then they didn’t expect him to live..but he said he just celebrated his 25th birthday)
