No, it was over 4th of July. it shows up as “2” cruise credits, right now. i don’t see any extra line items..but maybe I’m not looking in the right place

Damn so I’ll be elite soon! Right now they’re showing 2 cruise credits; which I assume is because I’m in a suite (they won’t tally them all up until 12/1)

Ok; can I add more complexity.. during this promotion; I’m doing/did 3 cruises that are in a penthouse suite with princess plus..so..instead of 2 credits per cruise, because it’s a suite, is it four credits a pop?

I’m kind of confused by this..because of this promotion; by the end of this year I’ll have 14 “cruise credits” but not 14 cruises sailed (only 11 sailed). so does that mean the next cruise I book, I’ll turn Elite; or do I still need another 4 cruises to be elite…the website doesn’t really make it clear on what metric they’ll use.

If you book a PH suite on the Royal class; there’s a bathroom right across from the suite lounge, that literally no one ever uses. (It became our “second” bathroom on the Alaska last month haha)

The LBC is pretty crowded from what I can see haha

So I can look at “my schedule” to see what I want to do.

So; we’re going on the Carribean princess Sunday. i went in and tried to bookmark items on the ship schedule..it keeps saying “unable to find shipmates” and “server error occurred”. however, my ship mates (not in my same cabin) were able to bookmark things and I was able to REMOVE those things..I just can’t ADD a bookmark. anyone have any ideas? (or maybe once I board, it’ll start working; but I don’t have high hopes) And I’ve already tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app

I know on a 12-day British Isle cruise last year; the MDR dinner menu’s did not repeat…I’m about to go on a 14-day Norway run on Sunday..so I’ll let you know, if no one else has posted

Too much drama in the LBC

Do you have a 401k or any investment account? Thats a WAY bigger gamble than anything I ever do…having hundreds of thousands tied up in something that could absolutely drop to ZERO any day. What I do; is honestly play for the value of what I’m getting. Yes, a lot of the time I “lose control”; but if you think about it; if you were to pay cash for this 8-day cruise on a balcony with the cheers package…I’d imagine it’d probably be close to $3000? So it only cost me an extra thousand, and I basically gambled the entire time. Plus that extra $1000 it cost me; is going to get me more free cruises. You just have to look at it as layaway plan for cruising. For instance; on my februrary princess cruise I lost $11,000..BUT I “earned” three penthouse suite cruises (at the cost of $12k a POP) plus other free cruises after that..so that was definitely a good investment. You have to remember, outside of the casino I’ve made some very smart financial choices; and I TRY to apply that same sense to “gambling”

Th gambling for me isn’t about winning or losing; it’s about the social aspect of interacting with others. the majority of people on a cruise ship either go to the bar or to the pool…I go to the casino. It’s a “safe space” for me, as it’s a “familiar” area where I feel comfortable enough to converse with others. I am working on this though; on my next couple cruises I’m going with family; so I’ll have people to converse with. But my Christmas cruise, I’m actually going to challenge myself to not speak with a single individual for the entire 7 day cruise. (Obviously other than the required service worker interactions; ie: ordering food) I’m also going to challenge myself to this in daily life; to only speak very minimally upon being spoken to.

Thanks. Yeah, the gambling problem is probably a larger problem for most people. But I mean..it’s only a problem if it affects your life right? Would a $22k loss affect my life? Probably not, no…but it would suck more than a $4k loss, for sure.

Just touched down safely in OAK; now just go make the 90 minute drive home; and do it all again in 13 days haha

Ohh believe me I’ve taken trips to places without casinos. Also, I don’t consider anything a “vacation”..because what am I taking a vacation from. (My daily life has no stress in it, as is carefree) But believe me, my future plans include no gambling (bad things happen when you cross divine intervention)

I guess so; maybe I was mixing up the “greatest generation” with “boomers”. and a lot of people I know are actually retiring at 50…but we’re all finance nerds. (Sans me; I am..but I’ve got a gambling addiction)

Loaded up now on a hella old 737, and heading for OAK.

Made it safely to St. Louis (never been here before) always wanted to visit the Gateway to the West..man it sure looks small from the air!
