  1. This is a wonderful thread! Thanks to all for the info
  2. Boy do we wish we could be home! Because I didn’t test on the ship our quarantine was extended here in Seattle until Saturday now… sigh. The hotel has been so accommodating but wish we could recover at home. Soon….
  3. I didn’t as I knew we wouldn’t use the whole week. And at that rate didn’t buy the day either….
  4. I inquired how much the day pass was on the Bliss last week and was advised it was $85 per day
  5. I will absolutely do that. All we have is our phones, and I can’t figure out how to make the change through the phone interface. But you are correct, they were right, and hopefully by keeping us isolated we didn’t get others sick.
  6. Well I was quick to share our predicament so I thought I would share the update…. as someone mentioned above, you have to have two negative tests before you are removed from Isolation. NCL treated us well while in isolation, allowed us free pay per view movies and room service at no charge. Once a questioned a bit I learned I could order from the MDR menu as well. We shared a piece of prime rib for our last night onboard to make the best of our trip. My fiancé had his second test scheduled for 10pm (we were worried about staying up that late, yeah we are party animals lol) but we did, and the medical assistant shared he had a lot of staff transitioning and had been testing since 6am. We got the call at 11pm and we’re anxious to hear we could go to breakfast in the am, only to find out HIS SECOND TEST WAS POSITIVE!! Omg 😳 So there are so many messages we could all draw here…. I am going to share what happened and what we learned in case it can help someone else. We were told to stay in our room, and we would have to make a reservation at a Seattle hotel for a 5 night Covid quarantine. The guest service and medical team could not have been more accommodating. They transferred us to 3 different hotels they had on a list that were said to do Covid quarantine rooms. The first I called had rooms and told me about their offer. The second very rudely told me they didn’t do it. The 3rd never answered. So we made a reservation with the first hotel. (Each of these calls was dialed for us by the guest services staff at no charge to us) we had to give them our confirmation number in order to get off the next day. this morning they called us in our room and said to be ready in 15 minutes. They picked us up in hazmat suits and followed all of our steps with a fogger to disinfect our path. We were taken off the ship using the regular gangway but then taken to a freight elevator where a special transport van had been arranged for 6 of us. There were 3 groups of two and we were the last to arrive. It was daunting because you didn’t know what was happening but they got us safely to the hotel. (I’m not sure if I am allowed to say which one). The hotel manager met our group and brought us individually to our rooms. Extra care was taken to stock the rooms with extra shampoo and the basics you would need. The Dr called from the contracted medical team and explained she will call daily. The NCL care team called and said he will call either daily or every other day. He will also have the travel team contact us tomorrow or Monday to discuss flight options. It was scary and a bit confusing for a while, so again sharing so if you find yourself in this situation you may remember our experience. Fiancee still has just a slight cough and is resting and drinking fluids like it’s his job.
  7. Absolutely! Boarded the Bliss using just the AP a week ago. Have a great trip.
  8. Currently on Bliss. Have the rotating channels mentioned and also on demand where some are free and some are pay. Continental breakfast is free for room service, but if you add hot food it is 9.95. Other deliveries through the day are 9.95 as well along with an added service fee of 1.95
  9. I understand this, we made a mistake to call. You are right it was a very poor decision on our part.
  10. We just said the same thing. Added it to our “leave in the suitcase” list along with phase 10 which I am grateful for today!!
  11. Yes, they told us he couldn’t get off ship without a second clear Covid test…. Smart ass me thought great way to cruise for life 🥳. Thanks for the smile and hope DH is well recovered!
  12. Dr took fiancé’s temp, BP, and O2 sat and that portion was $199. DayQuil $40. Again not about the money we were both just shocked to be quarantined over something so very minor
  13. FLGoodShips- that was exactly what we thought. Better to be safe than sorry! But in doing that they have us confined to our cabin for the rest of our trip…. Hard to enjoy when we are being denied the last two ports, Jersey Boys (which I was really looking forward to) etc.
  14. Hi all - greetings from my 30th cruise celebrating my engagement that just happened last week. Cruise started off very rough, as we were met at the embarkation pier with a notice that the Bliss had a noro-virus outbreak the week prior and offered us 100% FCC if we were concerned about sailing. Pre-pandemic I knew that this had happened and assured my fiancé all would be cleaned scrubbed etc. we had flown from TX to Seattle so we were going to continue. Embarkation was rough. Very packed terminal, maybe 10% in masks. We were fortunate that we got through the line quickly (45 minutes) and found a seat. Talked with a lady at dinner who shared she stood for 3 hours in line. Once on-board we were thrilled to see Roberto was the CD. Had sailed with him on the Star and he does a great job. There have been a lot of positives. I see an upgrade in food, and in service (except for our cabin steward) but I didn’t get the chance to complain so there is that. Yesterday, day 5 my fiancée developed a very slight dry cough. Maybe coughed 10 times through the day (minor). We are warm weather people and this trip has been cold for us, I always keep Tylenol sinus, gave him two, they helped some. We wanted to make sure and nip anything in the bud if you will if he was truly getting sick. So we called medical, they came to the cabin and tested him for Covid and strep and said they would call back in an hour. They called and said both tests were negative and offered him the ability to see the dr to get evaluation and medication. He went to the center was seen for a few minutes and the dr wanted to do blood work, ex rays etc and could not give him a fee schedule. Just said equivalent to a us ER. He called me in the cabin, as he thought this was over kill for a minor thing and I agreed. He declined the tests. The Dr gave him two large bottles of DayQuil and a 3 day Quarantine 😳😳😳 We were being overly cautious trying to do the right thing and will now spend the end of our cruise in quarantine. We bought insurance so it’s not about $, it’s about how trying to be vigilant and on top of things now cost us the end of our trip. We just wanted to do the right thing, and I feel like by reporting something very minor we are being penalized. Just thought I would share our story as we really wish we had just gone to bed (having taken another dose of Tylenol)
  15. Thank you for all of the information. We are experienced with NCL but not Alaska so all of your tips are greatly appreciated
  16. We will be on the Bliss in two weeks. I have googled the weather and am prepared for our port time. Curios to know how the temperature is kept onboard at night? We are from TX so I am wondering if we should bring sweaters to wear in the dining room etc? Any advice is greatly appreciated 💖
