Nacional Beach Club & Bungalows has amazing food and a little tiny pool! Its nothing too exciting but the last time I was in Mahahual the water was so cloudy you couldn't even snorkel. There are so many sargasso barriers its like an obstacle course to get anywhere near the reef. Its not a good situation but hopefully its changed since I was there in October. I love love the Nacional Beach Club. I've stayed there on land vacations and its a wonderful place. Probably one of the nicest places on the Malecon.

Can someone tell me something about this port? What is there to do that is not a cruise ship excursion? I have contacted a couple companies and was told they are not allowed to book with cruise passengers independently. Is there anything worth taking a cab to? What in the world do people do here? Thanks in advance!

I just made a reservation with Smart Wheels. They are asking for payment in full. Their website clearly says no deposit required. Why would I need to pay in full? That is not common practice in my experience. Anyone every reserve in advance with this company?
