  1. Ouest June 22-July 2 -- The Lumberjack show in Ketchikan was fun. The night we were there was beautiful and warm. Delicious treats and drinks were served. Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening!

Multiple CC members have asked "what genre of music are they performing" ?   60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, Rap, country..... please explain.   It's hard to understand when people say "I didn't like it and walked out", or "I loved it and want to see it again".   Provide some song titles, so we can determine what era they are performing.   That would go a long way in letting people know what kind of show it was.

They would take original songs of an era - then perform as if a different era -- example 60's song sung in 40's era. Also they used video technology with the performance. Ex. projecting a dancer on a screen during song. Check out their U-tube videos to get a feel  of their program.

    • Did this excursion June 22-July 2 2019 on Azamara Quest. Was amazing to watch glacier calf several times on a beautiful warm day! Lots of space on outside decks where we had great views. Spent 2 1/2 hours at glacier - pricey yes but worth every penny for a fantastic experience!
  3. We were on Quest June 22 to July 2. Went on the ship's tour at Hubbard Glacier. It was spectacular. 2 1/2 hours watching the glacier calf on an absolutely beautiful day that was warm - spent the whole time out on the decks which had plenty of room for everyone. Also got up close to "bird island" to see the nesting perches of hundreds of kittywakes. Saw recently birthed seals and more on the ice flows. This excursion was pricey but worth every penny!! Would highly encourage all to sign up for it!

  4. ERICR    I agree.with you. I volunteer with an organization that works with homeless and needy people in the Seattle area -- helping them with utility bills and food. I have offered food to people on the street and they have refused saying they want money instead. Wonder what they would use it for?! Seattle is beginning a new homeless initiative with other cities in the county, there have been several initiatives since the 1990's to solve the problem and they have not been effective. Hope this one works so our beautiful city can continue to be a welcoming place for visitors to enjoy!

  5. Glad the video "Seattle is dying" was posted. Eric Johnson is a longtime TV anchor in Seattle and his picture of Seattle is very thought provoking. As a Seattle native who now lives SE of the city it breaks my heart to see what has happened to such a beautiful place. Our daughter lives near the UW campus so we travel into the city often but we rarely go downtown because of the traffic as well as the homeless problems on the streets. If you go into the city be aware that there are many homeless tents, trash and drug users near the tourist areas. Please be safe!

  6. We did this cruise on the Veendam Feb. 2017. Amazon was on our bucket list. Agree that we did just go down the middle of a wide river. However there were some excursions offered that could get you out into the jungle including one overnight. Although we would probably never do this cruise again it was an interesting experience. So as said by previous poster - do your research and decide if this is one of your dream trips.
