I'm not sure where you saw a picture of the bathroom with just a shower, but when I checked videos they all seemed to have the shower tub combo. Believe me, that will be an issue for you getting in and out of the shower. Other than that it's a really nice stateroom.  You should call  or email the accessdesk@ncl.com

    866.584.9756.

On the bidding pages the SC class showed just a shower. I even mentioned that to the person changing my reservation and she didn't state that it was a shower/tub combination. Kind of bummed out about this. I don't think anything can be done about it now. Thanks for the info you guys. I appreciate it.

  2. I checked about a week ago and prices had dropped a bit. It was after final payment so I decided to upgrade to an SC cabin. I have 2 questions. How do you know if you are getting the actual cabin category as from what I saw your choice was "best available" and we were assigned 14168 on the Joy. Second question is, ( I know you will think I am obsessed) I had originally put an upgrade bid on the SC category and the pictures showed it having just a shower. When you go look at it on the reservation it shows a tub/shower combo. I much prefer just the shower as my husband has several artificial joints as well as back issues and I must admit I am no spring chicken and have a hard time with their tub side heights. Has anyone been in this stateroom that can give me reassurance that I didn't make a grave mistake?

    and also while sleeping...I heard.

If I didn't know better I would bet you were an antivaxxer. That being said I heard, I believe this morning, that the new variant "Omicron" shares much of the same DNA as the common cold. So I wonder if it is going to basically be no worse than such.

Congratulations as you seem to be in the minuscule minority.   Did you previously reprice with the prior promotion?

I believe I booked when it was the 30% forever deal with the extra points and that I had rebooked from the prior 30% off with no extra points and saved about 50 dollars if I recall correctly. So yes I am happy. On the same token they are getting half of it back by no longer testing for free at embarkation. I will have to pay them or someone 2 days prior.

Do you get a chance for the upgrade email if you booked through a travel agent?  I'm considering transferring my booking to a TA, but won't if it means I can't try for an upgrade.

I, up until this year, have always used a TA and have gotten invitations to upgrade. So yes ,you may.

YES this too. Like I get it, we all want a prime seat, but have some dignity. One time in observation deck, my husband got up to go to the bathroom, lady comes over to me and says "Is this seat saved"...so I said nooo you can sit here...have to practice what I preach after all. When my husband came back, he's like "WHAT" and I'm like "we can't be chair hogs" and I got up and said "Lets do something else or find two seats available together"

I have to disagree with you there. If I get up to use the bathroom I expect my chair to be left alone till I get back. It would be one thing if your husband took off to grab lunch for the two of you but the bathroom?

I had an acquaintance who contracted COVID right as he was set to begin a new job. New job required him to test negative to start. After weeks of testing positive again and again, he tried nasal lavage or netti pot and then tested negative. Yes, it could have been that enough time finally passed but I will be bringing my machine to wash after the flight and before the test!

But what if it is beyond your nose? What if you are asymptomatic and make someone sick who's vaccine happens to be of the 5%? I wish they would give an antibody test instead.

  8. The last cruise we took was to Alaska and Ketchikan was great. I absolutely will not book any cruise line that doesn't dock right there in Ketchikan after reading all of this info. Odds are NCL will wise up to the mistake they made with this one unless they build a high speed rail or help develop the area.

I'm sure it is a money saving decision, but if there are no kids sailing <12 due to vaccination requirements, wouldn't it make sense to adjust the ages for now and make a 12-14 group and a 15-17 group? As a HS teacher, I can tell you there is a HUGE difference between most 12 yo and 17 yo.

I agree. I would be way more comfortable with a 13 yr old being among 10-14 than 15-17.

  10. I know they asked for my ins provider when I registered and made an appointment with a drive thru station to be vaccinated. I am pretty sure my insurance now has a record of my vaccination because if you have insurance they did to my understanding pay something toward the vaccine. That doesn't mean ships would have access to that info though.

  11. Take another picture of yourself on your computer making sure that your eyes are visible. Then you should be able to save that picture as a screen shot or to a file. Pay attention to where the file is located ( photos, desktop, downloads etc). Now when you go to the NCL site where you put your picture click upload new and you should be able to find the location you put the picture. Double click it and it should upload to the NCL site. Other than that just click on the camera and it should take your picture and put it there  for you.
