  1. Made it back covid free!  About 85% of people were adhering to the masking rules, there were a couple of time we had to jump off of the elevator with people getting in with no masks on.  The crew was always cleaning the elevator buttons staircase handles, there are hand sanitizing stations all over the ship.   Which put us at ease.  Just keep your hands clean and wear your mask and you are good to go!  We had a great time, I just wish wearing a mask wasn't such a big statement for some folks, but to each his own.   Already book another  Cruise and can't wait to go!

i agree with you , but philly is wrong, in the fact that many of us will not live in fear, however will follow guidelines and take safety precautions.  Im going to the casino in NJ on sunday.   its not that hard to wash up , use purell , keep distance and wear a mask.

Exactly.  Only way we can get back to normal.

If you mean cruises from US ports, I think the chances are 0% for a cruise in October. I think it is going to be a long time, like mid 2021, before cruises resume from the US.

The American population as a whole is our biggest obstacle that is next to impossible to overcome because there are too many people in this country who have the mindset they are going to do want they want to do, which means no social distancing, no masks, no frequent hand washing, etc.

There were numerous people on this site who frequently made comments like I am not going to live in fear. With people with attitudes like that it isn’t a surprise how bad our country is doing right now dealing with this virus.

So simple wear a mask for the next 3 months and stop the spread so we can get back to some resemblance of normalcy.  who cares if you are a democrat or republican we are human beings and the virus doesn't care.  I had my September cruise canceled and I'm pretty sure my January cruise will be canceled also.  So sick of this just wear a mask, it's simple.

I don't think October cruises will go out...especially from Florida...if they do go, I'm guessing there will be a testing requirement and the majority of ports will deny entry (except Mexico maybe). I'm starting to doubt that our January cruise will happen. It certainly won't be what we are used to if it does go as planned.

I have a Panorama scheduled for January and I know it won't happen, people are not doing what they are supposed to as a result we have the highest numbers in the world and meanwhile other countries are playing soccer.  Unfortunately politicians want to try and get us out of this when we need doctors and scientist.   This is going to go on for at least another 8 months.  We have the fall and the normal flu to deal with in 3 months.

I think one of the biggest issues is people boarding with no symptoms and infecting many. The comedian that collapsed on stage a few days ago said he had no symptoms and yet tested positive and how many did he infect unknowingly. Even a short cruise under these circumstances would be bad in that who would let them dock and debark with an outbreak? Multiply that by however many ships are able to start up. I also don't think the crew will/can enforce mask wearing.

It's a logistical nightmare for sure. Just my opinion.

I agree and the fact that people are refusing to wear mask to make some statement will keep the cruising industry pushing back their dates for resuming.  95% of people will comply, it's just that 5% that don't realize the more they walk around without mask and don't social distance the longer this pandemic will last.

I haven't bought photos in years, but next week we will have four generations together so I'm sure I'll pick up a couple.  Just curious - how much is Carnival now charging for photos?

We did a review of the Pixels package if you want to look into doing that.

I am new to Carnival.  Having never sailed on her before I am clueless on what goes on when you board a Carnival ship.

My wife and I are planning on driving to Galveston from Austin (about a 3 hour drive) the morning of the cruise.  Do we have a set time we get to board?  When does the cruise let us know what time we get to board?  I assume the boarding time allows frequent cruisers and suite passengers to go first.  Then after that is it based on Cabin booked or deck?  What is the typical time for a newbie to be able to board?  Just want to make sure we have plenty of time to arrive with some cushion.

I don't know if this helps but we are on deck 5 in a HE category room on Vista sailing out end of Sept.

Hello we did the Vista 7 Day Cruise last January....it was awesome.  We did reviews of various restaurants, our room, the spa and the drink package if you would like to take a look

I am curious if anyone thought they made a mistake purchasing the Cheers program. I was thinking on port days , if we would be away too long to get our moneys worth. It would be nice to have mimosas in the morning along with special coffees. I would kick myself though if we didn’t drink enough to make it worthwhile.

I am not a heavy drinker and my wife is an occasional drinker but we thought that shakes, coffee, and drinks would help us save.  It was our first cruise so we went crazy on the shore excursions so being away from the boat for 5 hours a days takes away from your drink package.  We ended up losing a little of $300 when it was all said and done.

We did a review if you would like to take a gander.

So has anyone tried to use a pixel package (normal) and get a holiday pixel package? Is this possible? Can you have both?

also— any thoughts on pixel package??

We will be going on an 8 day cruise in a few weeks 🙂

Hi we did the pixels package if you would like to check out our review.  It's a toss up if we would do it again.  You take A LOT of pictures and you can only choose 5 photos with the package.  😞

Currently have booked a balcony cabin deck 6 on the carnival horizon. The price of a spa balcony on deck 14 is pretty comparable. Is there an advantage to the spa balcony if we’ve never used the spa in our past cruises?

We stayed in the Cloud 9 Spa on Carnival and loved it.  We did a review if you would like to take a look.

The steakhouse imho is the best at sea. The meal you describe is accurately reflected in the menu in regards to size.  There certainly are other cuts if quantity rules supreme, just my cents worth.  😉

I have heard I should have looked more closely... I had made up my mind about surf and turf before I got on the boat so I didn't even look....

    😄

2nd Cruise upcoming in April on the Magic. Going to surprise my wife for our 5th Anniversary with a few things.

We enjoyed the MDR food and variety, so don't want to miss out on trying different things. So, if you had to choose just 1 of the Steakhouse or Chef's Table, which would it be?

Also, I read the Chef's table reservation night is not provided until you get on the ship.  I would not want to do it if it's on elegant night, so we can still enjoy that and lobster in the MDR. Any way to make adjustments if it ends up falling on that night?

Hi we did the steakhouse and have a review if you would like to take a look.  Do not order the surf and turf if you are hungry...my two cents  🙂

We will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary with a cruise!

I was thinking of ordering the anniversary room decorations with the cake or the wine, as a surprise for my husband. It's kind of pricey in the Fun Shops, is it worth it?

    Thank you in advance! 🙂

If you don't mind doing the decorations yourself you can grab some at the Dollar Tree

  14. Yes you can take pictures all over the place there is usually someone from the Pixels studio snapping photos.  Just give them your room number and it will show up in your Carnival Hub App and room TV to cycle through and choose.

We did a review if you would like to take a look.
