Not sure if when you call in to get your CVP or a Princess (MedallionClass) App rep.  I would ask what exact Name, Birthdate, and CC Member Number is associated with your reservation in both POLAR (main reservation system) and the App system.

The reservations are both associated with my name/birthdate and CC Member number.    The reservation used to show up on the app, it just mysteriously disappeared.    Guess after the holiday, I'll start making some phone calls.

  2. I have to admit, I didn't read all 176 pages so I apologize if this has been asked/answered before.

We have a B2B cruise next August 6 thru Sept 8th.    I've had it booked for a long time.   Currently segment 1 of the B2B is no longer showing up on the app.   It's still showing up online when I log into Princess with my laptop.   My PVP confirmed it has not been cancelled.

I've deleted the app and reinstalled it.   I've rebooted my phone.   Tried signing in using my email/password as well as using my booking #.   Tried Live Chat (they were worthless).  Anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?

Oh, I have a iPhone 13 Pro Max (if that matters any).

  3. I had the opposite experience.   I had a mini suite offer, but wanted to downgrade to an aft facing balcony.   It was about $1000/pp cheaper.    No go......they wouldn't let me do it with my casino offer.   It was mini suite only.    Made/makes no sense to me......it's no wonder why Princess is in the red.

I "get" that the aft facing balconies are prime cabins, but we had a corner mini suite booked (the one on the aft with the super large balconies).     I'm still shaking my head on this one.

  4. I was on Discovery in October and the Gastropub was open.

I thought it was the best burger I've ever eaten anywhere.    The meat is made of short rib and prime rib......oh, and the brioche bun...   I salivate every time I think about that burger.

Very difficult to get a reservation at Crown Grill but were invited to join a couple who did have a reservation. Ordered filet which was not very good quality

Got that right about the filet not being good quality.   Mine on the Ruby (cooked med rare) was the toughest piece of meat.    It couldn't barely be cut with a steak knife.

If it's not automatically on your medallion it may not be on the cashiers' list either.  So be prepared to potentially wait for your free play until the casino manager or host researches your booking.

What DallasGuy75219 says is correct.   Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's the incorrect amount and sometimes it's not available at all.   Be sure to print your travel summary so you have "proof" in case there is an issue.   It's easier to get it if there is an issue if you have some kind of "proof".   Speaking from experience here.

  7. This isn't new.   Since covid the crew has been using the aft section of deck 7 as a smoking area on many of the ships.   On the Ruby in June, this is where the crew smoked.  However, in November they no longer smoked in this area but there was a smoking area for the public on the starboard aft section of deck 7.

  8. Upgrade maybe.....maybe not.

The rooms near the bow get more movement....for me, I love it but others not so much.      I had a room on the Discovery right above the buffet on the Discovery and I did hear noise (once).      So, it's a matter of preference.    I'd keep the old room, but then again, I like the ship's movement.

  9. Why on earth does Princess have to make things so flipping complicated?

The man hours that must have gone into writing the new "rules" that are as clear as mud is absolutely mind boggling.

Why couldn't they just state beginning Dec. 14, 2022, the new prices would be such and such?    Simple Simon.   Trying to convolute it with gratuities, wi-fi, fitness classes and free desserts was a stupid call.

I shake my head daily at the decision makers.

  10. I know you asked specifically about covid, but I got a super bad cold (RSV possibly) on the Ruby last month.   I packed a bunch of stuff for in case I got covid,  but I used almost everything I brought.    Here's what I went through:

    cough drops

    Musinex

    Nyquil

    Alka Seltzer Cold

    Immodium

Many people got the cold crud this trip and the store was out of lots of items to help.   What you could find was very expensive.   Also, another passenger bought cough drops and the next thing they knew, medical was at their cabin asking them to do a covid test (which was negative as was I five times).   I went thru 3 bags of cough drops.    My point is, plan for a cold and not just covid.

  11. I think the price increase would almost be more tolerable if they just would have said "due to the current market and the cost of inflation, we regret we are going to increase the prices.   We will also will also be increasing the daily gratuities as an incentive to get more crew".    I could have almost stomached that, but the free fitness classes and 2 extra desserts was a stupid reason.

A recent news article just reported that only 1 in 20 haven't gotten COVID.  Count yourself as the minority.

We must be lucky too....neither my DH or myself has gotten it.   I've been on 6 cruises for a total of 58 days since the restart and I never wear a mask unless they require it (doctor's office, etc).    Gotten all my vacs and boosters.

I figure I'm going to get it at some point but I'm not losing sleep over it anymore.

  13. When we got to the pier and the agent checked us in, she had a sign which she produced asking if we had been ill or were experiencing any symptoms (don't quote me on the verbiage).     We answered "no" to both questions and we were on our merry way.
